We visited this theater years ago for the premiere of Finding Dory 2. Their events are worthwhile for your young children. They are a bit pricey especially if you do a first look movie event, I believe our tickets were $40 each. Admission did however come with a poster, kids snack box (popcorn, drinkw/ Dory cup, & fruit snack). They also gave a cup of Kraft Mac & Cheese cup Finding Dory addition. Also there were a few premovie acts like a majic show and some games with bubbles & a beach ball. The theater itself is well maintained for being so old but is rather small. I remember wanting the movie to get started already and done because the seats were agony. They have absolutely no hip or leg room in front of you. You are literally sitting with your legs propped up as if you are under a school desk. Perfect for children but adults may get uncomfortable. For that reason alone, I wouldnt return. Still recommend for the movie/ entertainment experience.

The higher price tag for a movie ticket is definitely money well spent. People wont be willing to pay $16 for their crying infants (*eyeroll). Parking is validated so all you have to pay is $3 total for parking. The projectors are all high def and the sound system is the best of any theater Ive been to. May you live 10,000 years El Capitan Theatre!

Yes, they charge a bit more than the typical theater, but you get the full Disney experience, and Disney does NOT disappoint! They display the costumes and props that were used in the movie!Excellent staff too! Not only do they help you find your seats, they also help you take great photos!-1 star for tight seats. I paid $16 for a Saturday night Lion King showing here, basically for bragging rights that I saw a movie in the theater where the Disney premieres are held. But this was an EXPERIENCE. They had a live world renowned organist playing Disney classics from memory, and allowed you to go onto the stage to get a picture with the decor they had set up. The previews were shorter than most movies since they were just upcoming Disney films and they came with an introduction from a kind cast member who thanked us for being there. The VIP deal is great if you want snacks, you save a lot. But save room because your ticket comes with a coupon for ice cream at the soda fountain next door, which is conveniently attached to the movies. :)Also, don’t worry about how you dress for this theater! There was anything from people from nearby hotels in their PJs, to people dressed up from fancy dinners, to kids in costumes.

It brings out an emotion in your heart that might have been long gone and it brings out joy in children, joy that can only be brought by the magic of Disney. Location used for the entry of LUX in the Lucifer series, which is however different from that of the Sunset Tower Hotel. The scenes that portray him are in fact shot in front of El Capitan Theater, another place famous for its connections with the great cinema productions. This Churrigueresque style building (exuberant late Baroque) has been used for years as the location of the premiere of Disney films such as The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Toy Story. The attraction not to be missed for those who decide to visit the impressive theater is certainly the phantasmagoric Wurlitzer organ: four keyboards and 2500 pipes scattered around the room give the music played live all the suggestion of Dolby Surround.

If you want to give your kids the ultimate Disney movie experience, this is the place to bring them. I recommend getting VIP because the line does get long and it includes popcorn and a drink. Before the show they have an organ player and a show. If you like history and architecture youll appreciate the building, they did a great job restoring it. After the show they have a small museum in the basement that usually includes movie props. Only thing they can do better is have more movie related toys in the store next door, we were looking for Dumbo stuffed animals after the movie and they didnt have any.

Ever since I was young I wanted to go to The El Capitan Theatre. But my mom used to say no it was too expensive. It wasnt until I had my own family that we realized the tickets wasnt that expensive. First thing is I wanted to give you a pointer or two. First thing is to go online and plan ahead. Purchase your tickets at least a week ahead of time. That way you can assure that you and your family have great seats. But to me what it looks like. Every seat in the house are great seats. We were in the second row up front on the left and at first I was saying. Oh no we are too close but when it started, the look on our kids faces were priceless!!. Secondly I want to say is to get there early and I do mean early at least a hour early and heres why. You on the world famous hollywood blvd. The hollywood walk of fame. So its gonna be hundreds of people walking by looking at the stars and wanting to take pictures. And plus the line gets long fast. So youll want to get there in plenty of enough time to be clear or at least out of the way of everyone else. But once you get in its like stepping into a magical Disney movie experience of a lifetime. The decor the atmosphere the everything. Once you get in youll see an award winning musical director playing all your Disney favorite song on a giant organ right up on stage. AMAZING. its a show in a show before the show. Lights actors special effects. A must see. Check out these pictures and hit that like button.

My favorite place to watch Disney movies! Ive caught everything from an October throwback showing of Hocus Pocus to newer movies like Coco, Aladdin, and just this morning, a sunrise showing of The Lion King. For each experience, I buy the VIP ticket, which for $26, includes popcorn and a drink and sometimes even movie merch. Special events, like the 6am sunrise showing today, may include perks like Coffee Bean tea & coffee and General Mills breakfast treats, a movie poster and souvenir cup. I love the photo ops set on stage prior to the movie, the organ player and preshow entertainment, as well as the movie props and costumes from the featured film on the basement floor. Every seat in the house is good (balcony or orchestra)but I feel like orchestra seating is a tad bit roomier and has more leg space. El Capitan theater is only worth going to if theyre providing some sort of pre-show so its worth it. We went to see Aladdin, no pre-show just a photo op and a show room with pictures of the cast and costume used for the film. We arrived an hour and half before our show and there was already a line outside. Once allowed to go inside it was super crowded and waited 30 min in line to buy snacks. The seating is reserved and when we finally went to find our seats I was extremely disappointed to find out I was assigned the incorrect seats from the ones I wanted. We purchased the tix there in the box office and I specifically told the lady which seats I wanted and turns out she just got the row correct but not the seat #s. My daughter suffers from anxiety and she was upset crying because she felt uncomfortable being sandwiched right in the middle of the row. Not to mention all the toddlers and babies playing and crying all around. We had a toddler behind us that kept touching our hair, very uncomfortable.

The organist performed about 20 mins or so before the movie. Afterwards, we went downstairs to see many of the props and costumes as well. A special shout out to the manager. Weeks later, My 4yo was still talking about the way the organ lowered down into the floor below the stage. And the movie characters (Anna & Elsa) came out on stage before the movie started.Make sure to get there at least 30 mins before the showtime because of the line getting in and the preshow events.️ If you park across the street at Hollywood & Highland center, they validate for 4 hours.
