I come here every weekend. Ive been here I. The summer and at various times of the day or night and I love it every time. I only hike the west end trail which is the more difficult path. Challenging and fun. It typically takes me and my girl friend and hour to complete. Parking can be challenging but worth it.

Its a nice place for a hike not my favorite and its not that big of an area but should still be checked out.

A bit of a strange and neglected area that I wouldn’t feel comfortable hiking by myself. However there are some pretty neat views and a decent trail to follow despite a very steep part I which I would not recommend for little ones. But as my friend said while we were there... it kind of feel a like it used to be one big communal backyard with all of the houses surrounding the area and abandoned artifacts.

Good trail to run on but it was empty and there were 2 coyotes.

Elyria Canyon is one of those places where I personally wouldnt have known existed without Google Maps because Im not too familiar with the Cypress Park area of L.A. Its a fine area to go hiking and just enjoy nature while strolling down a trail or two. Plus, I feel that due to its location, the park doesnt get much foot traffic aside from people who may live in the surrounding neighborhoods. Therefore, theres a bigger sense of peace and quiet here in comparison to the more well-known trails and parks in L.A.

Very narrow trails pretty close to overgrowing on the trails lots of fox tail thorns and weeds. Not ok for my dog to walk through. Leaft within minutes ...

The park Ranger and his wife were veeeeery unreasonably rude... strange thing to say about a State park. Besides those two this place is a hidden gem with low foot traffic. Parking is tough but the neighbors were kind.

There are some spectacular views from up in the hills--but driving those VERY narrow streets is definitely a challenge.

A little scary and the trails could use further maintenance. Also the address should not be the one listed. The address should be where the clearing for parking is at. Awkward and misleading.

Not worth the trip if you have to drive there. I can see how this would be a good neighborhood hike, but its way too small to get a good hike in. I am not a very fast hiker and I did all the trails in under an hour. Not many other people there, which is nice.

Two reasons for the one star. First, the trail is filled with vacant snake holes who may or may not still be around. Second, the plants are overgrown, theres weeds, and a much of little critters jumping around in the bushes which freaked both my friend and I out because we couldnt see anything. This trail are for people who are level 5 trail walkers/runners. It is the complete opposite of Runyon. You will find no one walking this trail which adds to the suspense of walking and being snatched into the unknown. Not to mention the huge ravens circling around doesnt help.
