Ive done over 90 escape rooms across SF, Seattle, New Orleans, and now finally LA. Based on reviews, maze rooms seem to be a mixed bag of wildly varying quality, so we were a bit apprehensive to check them out. Magic Kingdom was the mostly highly rated experience out of the Hatch Escapes Rooms and was supposed to be a magical experience. One of the people in our group loves magic themed rooms, so we decided to check it out.

Done around 30 escape rooms now. This is in top 3 easy. Inventive, clever and insanely funny.

Lab Rat is the best room Ive ever done. Ive done escape rooms all around the country. Its worth the traffic! Stop reading reviews and book it! I know what youre thinking. Am I too stupid? Am I really locked in the room? Is it scary? No No and No.

My friend and I couldnt stop talking about it for the rest of the day. Amazingly fun! Hatch Escapes does escape rooms better than anything Ive ever seen before, and its opened me up to try a lot more in the future. Looking forward to The Ladder!

I cannot recommend this place enough. The theming of the room, storytelling, puzzles, sights, sounds, teamwork tasks, and overall quality is magnificent. At one point I was simply walking along behind three friends as we interacted with a puzzle, and that moment was absolutely magical. It was beautiful and amazing to feel so much joy emanating from all of us. Please give this place a try and spread the word. Its an experience you dont want to miss. Funnest escape game Ive played in quite a while, well worth a visit. Lab Rat captures the whimsy and fun that many escape rooms miss, while still giving a strong challenge.

I cant describe it, but Ive done a few dozen escape rooms, and this one is very well done, well designed, hard but in a good way, clever, and interesting. Well worth the price.

One of the best and most creative escape rooms Ive ever done. It’s what I expected from one of the best rooms in the world. The customer service was great and they were very patient.

This is a great room! I would highly recommend it. There were 2 of us that are experienced and we escaped right at the end. This room had a lot of very unique parts/puzzles and thats from someone that has done 250+ rooms. There was plenty of space and plenty to do to have a bigger group too. I enjoyed the opening video a lot too. I saw this room being rated super high, even top 10 in the world, and was worried it couldnt live up to that type of rating. It makes my top 10 list for sure! I hope Hatch builds another room!!!

Great escape room with fun puzzle flow and story. Will was also very friendly and picked us up some disposable forks when we asked if they had any.

Hatch Escapes rocks!!! I highly recommend this escape room for novices and journeymen alike. Im not going to give anything away so you have to experience it all firsthand.

This location currently has 1 escape room. It was my first time at an escape room. The experience was fun and the host was friendly and patient. Would definitely recommend this escape experience.

Visited Hatchs lab rat room about six months ago and I catch myself comparing every room Ive been to since to it. Of all the 15 or so LA escape rooms Ive been to, including the ever famous basement, the lab rat room has hands down been the best.The set design and room concept are both very strong. It features a lot of puzzle varieties that are rarely utilized in escape rooms so it feels fresh even to an escape room enthusiast. The amount of puzzles are also very well calculated, you wont walk away feeling like it was too easy. Definitely would recommend. The only downside is it can get pretty hot in the room, even with the portable AC units that are present.

It was a wonderful experience! This lab rat escape room was incredibly immersive and you felt very in the theme. The video, artwork and all the details were awesome. I think 5-6 people would have been a sweet spot for me and the group of people we were with.

The immersion experience was phenomenal, the host added enthusiasm to the experience, and the presentation was extremely entertaining. My only criticism would be that the clues were not organized in a linear fashion (this then that) and so the progression of the escape was a tiny bit discombobulated.

Absolutely phenomenal escape room experience! If youre looking for the best, youre in the right place. Lab Rat is creative, funny, immersive, exciting, and an enjoyable game for all groups regardless of their ability level. Looking forward to coming back when The Ladder is open!

Well thought out and decorated theme. We escaped and enjoyed ourselves immensely. I cant wait for them to build their next room. I hope they maintain the quality and standards. Also your sectional is hella comfy. If I could Id totally nap all day on it.

This was my first experience going to an escape room, and I thought it was a fun experience. The puzzles were challenging, but we were able to finish with 22 seconds left on the clock with hints from our game master. The quality of the videos and props were great. Street parking, but not terrible... We found something on the next block.

Great experience, we did the lab rat escape room (and escaped!). Very well done, and theres a bit of a storyline which makes it more engaging! Definitely excited to do another one when they have a new one up!

Great storyline, fun and diverse puzzles that require teamwork. FUN!

I cant even explain how much I liked this escape room. The puzzles were all different, and engrossing. They demanded all kinds of different levels of communication, and teamwork, and sensory modalities, and reasoning styles. It was a fast-paced, dynamic, and totally social experience that never let up.Top notch, recommended to everyone.

Ive done a bunch of escape rooms and this is far and away the best. The production value is out of this world and the puzzles are tough but doable. Its also a massive room, so many clever things to see and solve. Cant wait for their next room!!

So this was my 50th escape room and I wanted it that way based on all the reviews and top ten lists I found it on. The reviews were correct! This was my favorite so far. So many unique puzzles, incredibly immersive, and lots to do! If you do escape rooms this should be in your must do list. If you dont, you will be an addict after this!

Im an escape room enthusiast who has done over 280 rooms, and Hatch Escapes produced an experience that differed from all of them in a uniquely brilliant manner. For starters, the room is presented as a theater/art piece rather than an escape room, which dives deeply into the concept on an escape room and pushes it into the next generation of gameplay. Speaking of gameplay, the puzzles in Lab Rat were all immense, brilliant, and best of all, required the entire team to solve, traversing a massive and highly detailed set. The room itself was scaled up to fit with the theme, using specific details to provide clever twists on popular culture as entirely original designs that facilitated the puzzles throughout the game. In as vast a market as Los Angeles, Hatch Escapes stands out as one of the absolute must-plays in the area, for both beginners and enthusiasts.

Great escape room. I hadnt done one before, and went with only one other person, so it made it much more challenging, however the staff was super friendly, and made our experience top notch.

By far... the coolest and most immersive escape room yet. Only sad I have to wait til they open the next one(s). I highly recommend this experience, especially if you like puzzles.

Brilliant! Ive never experienced any escape room that is close to Lab Rat. Everything fits, many unique puzzles and the decor, story and game master Agust were nice. I would recommend Lab Rat to every escape room enthousiast who visits or live in L.A. (better than the Hollywood sign )

The best escape room I had

Lab Rat was THE most immersive room Ive done. The puzzles wrapped into the theme seamlessly and were quite novel. From cinematics to lighting to puzzle design, everything was exceptionally well done. Im an avid escape room enthusiast and this is definitely in my top 3!
