Excellent ️ This is a smallish museum that packs plenty of airplane history inside its walls as well as outside. Plenty of vintage experimental planes as well as a nice selection of vintage engines and props. We were greeted by a knowledgeable young volunteer, Noel Bell, who knew much more than expected. Its great to see this being passed down to his generation All told, this is a great place to visit thats laid back and easy to take in in a short time. Highest recommendation!

I took my daughter here because she is crazy about airplanes and she had a blast. The museum inside is really nice and wide open. There is a lot to see outside while you enjoy a nice walk. Jayme was amazing. So nice and knowledgeable. She seemed like she has a real passion for aerospace. She answered all my questions happily and she even helped me look for my cellphone when I lost it on the way out. I wish I could give 10 stars.

Excellent small museum on aviation. The Sun and Fun Air Show is an annual event that takes place at the airport where the museum is located. Sun and Fun is the second largest airshow in the United States. Some people are disappointed because they look at the museum as the single building. This is wrong. There are several out building and aircraft. I found the F 16 Tomcat outstanding. Some buildings only open volunteers are available. Recommended for people who find aviation interesting.

Wonderful local aircraft museum ... inside exhibits are limited but interesting ... the really cool aircraft are the ones outside including the Sea Dart and a tail-standing experimental aircraft ...

Nicely maintained and friendly staff. The majority of airplanes in the museum are experimental and custom-built flyers. If you are looking for vintage war planes and bombers, this museum perhaps isnt for you. The museum building is quite small. As such, the $12 per adult fee can get excessive if you are a large party. Other than that, the exhibits are informative and fun to read/explore. There is no fee to park here, and there are a few planes that can be viewed for free on the grounds. The grounds also house an aerospace high school, so be prepared to greet uniformed students if the time is right. They were very friendly and polite. Overall, a good experience, but plan for other nearby adventures as well since you probably wont spend an entire day here.

We moved to Lakeland a year ago and the museum remains one of my favorite things to do both with kids and without. Its an especially great resource if youre homeschooling, weekdays are quiet and theres lots to learn about engineering as well as aviation. Note the museum is closed on Mondays - see posted hours.

It appears to be a good aMuseum. But who knows- they were closed today- seems no one showed up for work. We drove from Sebring, 70 miles, and it was closed. No sign on the door, no notice on their web page that they would be closed. Left us and everyone else unhappy. Heard another group say they’d driven 3 hours. Unacceptable business practice.

We visited the museum with a 2 yr old, 4 yr old, and an 8 yr old. While initially surprised by how small it seemed, we quickly saw that there really was something for everyone. The exhibits are in excellent condition and you really can get up close. The best surprise was a childrens play area in one corner. It was generously sized and just fantastic. There were toys, books, dress up clothes, a coloring station with printed coloring pages and crayons/colored pencils/markers, and two sofas for parents to relax on. Next to this were several STEM activities that were great to try alone or to complete together with our 8 yrold. My favorite thing though was the overall cleanliness. Everything from the exhibits to the play area (toys included) to the bathrooms was CLEAN and well maintained. The reason I didnt give a fifth star is because the exhibits felt a bit scattered- like the layout didnt seem to flow in a cohesive way. It seemed like we were walking around getting bits and pieces of information rather than moving from one topic to another. I think this could be easily remedied with some signs labeling each section and giving a brief overview of its theme. We will definitely return. And I would recommend this to anyone- there is something for every age and interest.

I just went to the museum. It has the feel of a dark, large storage room and the music playing adds to this. There is a lot of information posted about the planes there. But some of the interactive games dont work. Overall, a good place for learning about aviation history.

Bring your EAA card for free entry as it is part of ASTC passport.Very small museum though there are interesting aircraft outside. Notable is the vertical take off and landing. They have the only one of two prototypes and this one flew. There’s a small exhibit about Howard Hughes (was Ironman based on him?) and now I want to watch Hell’s Angels. There also an interesting piece about Trump and Palm Beach Airport. In another hangar, is a tandem seated primary glider. Imagine flying this marvellous machine. If you have no deep interest in aviation, it is quick to breeze over, but if you read everything, it’ll take you 2 hrs or so, including looking at the aircraft outside.

Very nice museum with a wide assortment of planes. Everything from models, to vintage biplanes, to home builts and even a U.S. Navy F-14 Tomcat. If you like planes I recommend it.

We came for the annual Sun and Fun. What a fantastic time and HUGE variety of planes! Lots of vendors and workshops as well as air shows. Lots of aircraft you can get into and look at. Great show would recommend going. Only issues we had was lack of signs on which direction to get to the actual show, was turned around a few times trying to get to the right spot.

Went here on a weekend off. Glad I was able to get tickets on Groupon as I would have been disappointed buying tickets at full price for what they had to offer. Was hoping it was also an area that we could have watched planes either taking off or landing or doing stunts but it was just a big airplane hanger size muesum
