No smoking rooms. Thats a huge bummer when 60 degrees or less. When playing slots, unlike other casinos, they dont have a service button to order a drink. You have to leave machine and find the bar. Unlike other casinos, staff isnt as friendly.Plus side... Very clean carpets, clean rooms. Beds arent too bad The black jack tables etc have been way better. Other casinos we frequent in this area almost win 85% of time.

Had so much fun! Could not believe how big it was. You could just walk around all day. Inside was beautiful and the pics do not do it justice at all. There was a burger place thats smelled so good. We didnt have time to stop tho. My nephew was in the kids center and it closed at 11PM My twin was waiting on us to chop chop. All in all great time and won some money.

Absolutely beautiful place. Such a huge space so mahy different options for slots. Such beautiful art throughout the building and in the structure! We stumbled upon this by accident and so excited we did! Highly recommend to stop here and enjoy the experience.

In all honesty, we weren’t impressed. My husband and I are truck drivers. We had a layover and wanted to have some fun. We booked a room at this hotel and when we arrived, we called to see if there was a shuttle. Semi’s are to be parked in the back forty and it’s a long walk. The lady at the desk said they don’t offer such services. So we made the trek to the hotel. We made reservations for dinner that night at The Great Plains Cattle Company. My husband ordered a drink from the bar and when it arrived it had 3 gnats in the glass. The server was super nice and got it fixed and took the drink off the bill. The food was delicious and the only good thing about this stay.We finished dinner and went to the casino floor. We went to the gaming desk to sign up for a players card, multiple couples were at other windows signing up. We approached the open teller and she starts yelling that one person at a time only. So I just walked away. We tried to find an open bar to get a drink and only 1 was open. I wanted a crown and ginger ale and the bar had none. He had to “make” ginger.We wake up the next morning early. I called the front desk to ask about breakfast options. They had none. The only restaurant in the casino that opened early was the burger joint and they didn’t open until 10am.We decided to stay one more night because we had more issues with our delivery. The woman at the desk had all kinds of problems with booking our same room for another night. She tried to firstly say we would have to move to another room. The shift manager helped her figure it out.Later that evening we went to get dinner at the pizza place. We stopped at the Mexican place to get a margarita to go and the bartender didn’t tell us until after he made our $10 margarita that he didn’t have the mix and “did what he could”.We go back to our room and find we’re locked out. The keys had been shut off. So we had to go all the way back down to the desk (from the 11th) floor to get them activated again.We go to check out the following day and the computer system isn’t working to give us discount from having the players card. We had to leave for delivery and wait for a call.We did receive a call and the discounts were applied. We spoke again about our stay and she told us that a service should have been provided for truckers and alll these other things that should have been done.We might try and go back if we’re passing through again, but overall we weren’t impressed.

Very clean and well-run casino. Plenty of bars to get a drink. Free water and soda stations if you dont want alcohol. Service is top notch.

One of my favorite casinos. Only bad thing is there arent enough people walking around offering soda since Covid-19 happened and we cant get one from the fountains. Also, if smoking they need to quit harassing about a mask. Literally taking a puff and they want us to put masks back on..

We went to see a concert. Wasnt notified that it had been canceled. So we went to the Pub and had an awesome burger.

Beautiful casino! The machines let you play a bit didnt just rip thru your money. The rooms were so nice and so clean. The employees were super nice.

Although things have slowed down a little because of the pandemic by far Ameristar is still one of the best casinos in Kansas City. The cleanliness is superb cleaning staff are constantly wiping things down and making sure the environment is safe to be in.

Excellent staff. The hotel room is nice with lots of space but they could improve on the bed. It is plastic and uncomfortable. I have stayed at many casino hotels and hotels near casinos, so I would recommend staying somewhere close by that has a better bed. Also the casino closes all exits to the hotel late in the night and makes you walk all the way around to get to your hotel room.

This review is mostly for the hotel side as Im not much of a gambler (my wife is!!). I have never had such good service at any hotel/motel in my life like we got here!! From the first moment at the front desk (got an early check in with no surcharge). The clerk was friendly and informative about both casino and hotel. The price was VERY reasonable because we stayed on a Sunday night. Room was neat, clean and odor free with a giant walk in shower! We plan on staying here every time we pass through Kansas City! Good job to every worker at this hotel!

Just the way my wife and I where treated by people because my wife just asked a simple question on your guys reward card because we where gonna be there multiple days but we got told no they wont give us one

It was an easy process to check in. The beds however were atrocious. I didnt sleep at all and I know they had to add some type of protective covering on the bed due to COVID but, you literally can feel the rubber cover under the sheets. It squeaked and made loud noises through the night whenever you had to toss and turn. And trust me you needed to. It was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on there. Ive stayed there 3 or 4 times in the past and the rooms were super nice and the beds used to be a dream to sleep in. For the price i should have been able to still rent the other room i usually stay in and this time we were charged almost double and it was a much smaller room and it wasnt anywhere near as luxurious. Anyways, the convenience of being able to stay at the casino after a long night of drinking and gambling makes it almost worth it to have a place to rest. Unfortunately the chair was more comfortable than the beds this go around.

Came in after driving for 13 hours. No reservations. Hotel was booked. Ms. Joyce at the desk was very helpful! She managed to find me a room anyway! I was so grateful. I didn’t think I could drive any further. Thank you so much Ms. Joyce! The stay was great!

Ameristar is always fun for me. You will always have rude people no matter where you go. I just run into less of them at this location. The food and the alchohol is good as well. A+

Clean as usual didnt see alot of sanitizing after ppl touch machines but lots of places to sanitize your hands bathrooms always clean im happy

Was out at with my girlfriend and we got hungry. We wasnt around any food spots when we was out. She suggested to go to the Ameristar so we could eat there. Hadnt been in there in a long time. It was a new spot there called The Burger Joint. We had no complaints with our order at all. The experience went very smooth.

Recently stayed at Ameristar KC. It was pleasant as always. Mainly ate at the Amerisports and the burger joint. Both were very good. I did have an issue I want to pass on, if anybody cares. Our host reached out to us and asked if we want him to set up a few nights in hotel and comp meal at the steakhouse. We sent him the details and he set it up. Once we arrived, I asked for the comps to the steakhouse and he refused to follow through on his offer. We spend plenty of money at Ameristar every time we go. Not sure what this guy was thinking. There are plenty other casinos much closer to where we live than KC. Unfortunate Larry didn’t follow through.

Definitely my convenience casino... Actually made 40$ last like 3 hrs on the slots... We had a good time until one of the worker ladies was being a little overzealous - my friend was drinking his drink from the complementary fountàin drinks and we were wàlking to find our next machine and the lady sàid like 4 times. Sir!! Your mask has to cover your mouth!! Sir!.… It was like, lady, I know you see him drinking his drink.. smh... I dunno.. çovit control mustve drànk her à làrge redbull on break or summin. Other than that everything was enjoyable

The atmosphere was beautiful. We didn’t gamble because we were only there for the food. I was disappointed that all the restaurants weren’t open but the taco joint we ate at was good. Hopefully next visit all restaurants will be open.

My best friend Pauls step dad, who is one of those people that there is nothing theyre not good at....so, its expected for him to have some gold card that means he is not only spending but he is always mostly winning. Which means we got special treatmentSo it was a great place that I have some unforgettable great memories at . We went to the movies, had an all you can eat seafood 5 star dinner, I lost every slot but they all won so no harm done. It was my first casino , in a city, to go to and the art that covers the entire ceiling is beyond spectacular its as if its actually looking up at the clouds and beautiful blue sky! it is breathtakingly beautiful!!! it just amazed me that someone was that talented to do that kind of work. Its also very clean and has something for everyone . Being from a small town ,it was just beyond anything Ive ever seen.... There are several floors so looking down it is almost as if youre looking out at the city from a mountian(little bit over doing it with that but still its just that awesome ). I went a few times after the day these photos were taken .The best part and most practical was the daycare that is just as cool as the rest of it! Affordable by far and they keep your young one till midnight or maybe little earlier! The staff is just as a you would expect at a place as high class class as it is, yet there is not a single classification of people that would feel uncomfortable being here. Dress in your fanciest cocktail dress or keep it casual...its hands down the best one in the city and all around it.

I love the Casino itself. Even if I do lose. But someone needs to confiscate the salt shakers from the cooks at the new Burger Joint. My Lord, the last few bites of my burger tonight tasted like the lid to the salt shaker fell off when they were seasoning it. I didnt complain at the time and am not looking for a freebie. Just bringing it to your attention.

This rating is for The Buffet and Casino!!!5 stars for the Buffet and 2 stars for the casino because smoking is allowed!!!Restaurant was great!!! All you can eat 40$. There is something to eat for everyone, pizza, Chinese, BBQ, and fried chicken!!!! We are stuffed! Waiter was fabulous!!!This building is beautiful. We didn’t sleep here since we live in the city!!We went into casino and didn’t realize that smoking is allowed. I get a migraine around cigarette smoke. If this Casino was nonsmoking we could have stayed longer but since I couldn’t physically breathe we left the building!

I know its a pandemic but if youre open, do the normal things. I had to ask for non-biodegradable coffee cups? Good thing I couldnt find the do not disturb sign as it didnt get disturbed during our stay anyway.

This is a beautiful property; I truly enjoyed my stay. The staff members are friendly, and the place is really clean. Definitely not your average casino.More importantly, I had a chance to see snow; its been at least 15 years since I last saw any.

It would be a 5, but I spend sooooooo much money there OT is unreal, and when I check my card theres never any free play on it...and I never have received any coupons for so much off a dinner or room for a night or even anything for free slot play.... and to be quite honest I think that would really be the only thing to make your review not be completely five star, because I love your hotel the casino, all of it but again I spend so much money there and never receive any kind of perks, that really sucks...

Honestly for what they charge its a highway robbery. The beds are hard, the mini fridge only has a fridge no freezer (so our ice cream melted), they had no washer and dryer, they had no pool, and I get that covid is a thing but even with that theres really nothing to do here and its miles away from anything else, you cant adjust the thermostat and one night I woke up sweating it was so hot, the wifi is terrible we brought our streaming device so we could watch our netflix shows and we constantly had to keep reconnecting to it, the cantinas food was so dry it tasted like it had been cooked 2 days prior and just been reheated.We stayed at a $60 holiday inn the day prior and even though we booked two nights we went ahead and moved back to the holiday inn instead of staying there another night it was way over priced for how lacking in basic amenitiesUpdate: they also dont have microwaves on their rooms and when we called the front desk about the air conditioning they said there was nothing they could do then offered us a fan, then then said they couldnt find a fan 0 out of 10 would not reccomend

Had a great time. Even made ó it home with morer. The only thing I feel could have made this visit better would be better custodial maintenance of picking up all these dang masks people leave everywhere all over the city. Major eye sore & reminder of the nuisance they are.

Very outdated imo. The games just lacked. Was not a fan of this casino at all. The only cool thing about this casino was the fake sky with moving clouds. Looked very real, that is what the picture is of. Had trouble getting the machines to take my money or money tickets. Had to get someone to open up the machine and get my money ticket out because the machine decided to try to keep my money lol.

We come here with our kids for the arcade, its a great arcade with a good price.

Good pay out most the time, always a professional staff always after the customers best interest.

I wonder why you dont have smoking rooms, but yet you can smoke in the casino. We have stayed here several times and love it. Please bring back smoking rooms. We will be checking in, in about 3 weeks. Cant wait to see the place again. We always spend our anniversary there. Thank you.

Ameristar is fun for the whole family! The 2 HUGE casino floors have over 300,000 slot machines, more than all casinos in the Midwest added together.

The property is fine and fairly clean, but the slots are horrible!! You should only come here to give away money, they certainly take all the fun out of your play, also ignore any comps they promise, they are never there!! Just terrible!!

The bathrooms were not properly stocked. Employees were friendly and helpful. Would be nice to have water or coffee in the room.

The hotel was decent. It is an older hotel so not everything is updated. The hotel room we stayed in had a chunk taken out of the tub, the showerhead was dirty and all of the floors could get a good cleaning. The casino games were fun but we lost very fast, I had 150 bucks gone in a manner of an hour. The sports bar in the casino was very good. If you like pizza try it, its amazing. The waitress Sarah that helped us was phenomenal!

Youve gotten very lax on the cleanliness. Paper towels all over in the bathrooms. The trash bins in the bathrooms were full. The elevators had used masks on the floor. The sad thing is that 3 hours later when we left, the same elevator opened and STILL had the nasty used masks and debris on th he floor.

Had a wonderful time the customer service was next to none big shout out to Ameristar for making me come back and really enjoy a wonderful night with my wife totally impressed.

Came here to have some fun on a weekend , it just happened to be during a crowd reduction during COVID. I put my money in the Roulette table / machine and it ate my money. I called for service and they said i places a huge bet (twice) and left me with no credit. I guess they will do anything to steal your money due to Covid crowd reductions!! I will NEVER come back here again!! On top of horrible drink service! Watch your money!! Think twice about coming here!

Ameristar sent me a postcard that said I have NOT been there since March, but, I have easily spent over $8,000 since March. My card will be shut down at the end of December unless I gamble there before that date. I use to like Ameristar, but, this is terrible. I feel like I DONATED $8,000 to them and they dont even know about it.

Most of restaurants have been closed I usually go during the weekdays. Machines have been tight. Before the virus the slots were better.

Not a lot of slots on the floor. The rooms are clean. The casino itself is not too rowdy. The restaurants close early for me the on li y thing open was burger king (gross). Its hardly smokey and smells clean. The craps table attendant was very helpful with betting.

Ma when I tell you what man I guess you know up in Kansas City man this is the best thing Ive ever been to help me lose all my money and I loved it the staff was great the women were beautiful because theyre from Kansas City of course and the casino

There are many Ameristar Casinos across the country, but I like this one best for its off the beaten path location, the set up of the casino providing seperate sides for hotel and casino only parking, and I find the casino floor set up rather adventurous. I also like that there is a convenient store/gas station in a direct location from the casino so it is easy to locate, and the ATMs within the Casino are not excessive and exorbitant with their fees.

Getting a 1/2 of roll toilet paper for 3 days really dosent cut the mustard. Stayed for the amenities but everything is closed. The one plaxe to eat charges alot for bad food. Last person in this room cut their toe nails. Guess what I stepped on.

I didnt give Ameristar 5 stars because they really dont deserve even 1 star. They built it really nice back in the 1990s but ever since it changed hands from Station casino it sucks bad! Dont ever stay in the bed bug infected hotel there!

A great atmosphere and always a good time there. One of the best casinos in the area. Always clean and good beverage service. Even with social distancing there are plenty of tables and slot machines available.

I dont dislike it I think its great good parking friendly folks always seems to be adding events and entertainment stuff

My car in their garage on their 2nd floor had the drivers side window smashed out and items stolen and when i went to security they didnt even act like they were going to lokk at security cameras what are they there for if they arent going to use them

Spacious. Employees seen cleaning and sanitizing constantly, as people get up and machines/chairs. Easy access and no one stopped you to check IDs or sell you packages.

Always a good time here....except when i lose thousands lol. Definitely my choice of gambling establishment out of all of the others KC has to offer.

Alots changed since new ownership. They always compt well, invites for gifts. Iv gotten free rooms but never got to use them. Since the new owner took over i havent been enough to see if they comp as well and often. And i hadnt even spent much before i got my first invitation(gift)

This is not about the casino; we did loose, but if you come to a casino expecting to win money, you should find new entertainment. My poor review is about the hotel. If I could have given the hotel 0 stars, that would have been awesome. Mattresses are covered in plastic, so you hear that as you toss and turn on a bed with 0 comfort...think rock hard. It was wonderful to hear our neighbor on phone calls, going to the bathroom, showering, etc after she got in from casino playing at 1am. No coffee, no breakfast and no wifi so good luck getting work done.

I wouldn’t give a star. We were denied coming into the casino strictly based off looks. The staff said, “...your friend APPEARS intoxicated.” I asked how they came to this conclusion. They said, “...his eyes are glossy. His speech.”He didn’t say anything...they denied service based on appearance. 80%+ of their customer base consumes alcoholic beverages inside, yet can gamble. My friend has a disease that mimics intoxication (low blood sugar) and we were denied service....no questions asked.This place is a joke, and you should consider going elsewhere if you don’t want to be profiled.

Having to drive from Tennessee to Washington State, we decided to stop in KC & get a room at a casino. We called ahead to inquire about room rates & availability, we were told there was a room with 2 beds available. Since were were 4 mins away we decided to just go there directly to get the room. Once we got there we were told there were only suites available at a much higher rate. The front desk was not very friendly. We decided to call back & talked to the person we had spoke to minutes earlier & we were able to secure the original room with 2 beds at the lower rate quoted. So when we went back into the hotels front desk & said we had reservations for such room & we were then told that yes there was a room available for what we had wanted, that they had forgotten. Even though they had the room for us, I was ready to go elsewhere but it was late & we had 2 small kids who were anxious to get out of their car seats and had walked from the rv parking lot with all our luggage, so we stayed. It makes me wonder how often they do this just to sell a higher rates room.

My wife seems to play for hours on the same game a l l night whiIe I go from machine machine all night. same results Eventually they win. But a movie and snacks cost more than I lose here at Ameristar

It is easy to tell its an older place. Our room had carpet that was worn and frayed. The view of the casino roof top was horrible to look at.The Friday seafood buffet was disappointing. It was not very fresh. The crab was small, shrimp was over cooked and salmon was very dry. Dessert bar was delicious.The concert space was out dated. The seating was old, hooked together chairs. My seat cushion had tape on it.I did some gambling. The newest machines are on lower level. Smoking and non smoking sections are very close together.

Horrible , they promise top level members a free trip to Hawaii suckering you in to continue playing only there to earn that players level which they fail to honor nor will they compensate for something to replace it. very disrespectful

Was there this morning. Power went out, the place went dark. NOBODY from the casino came around to offer info to any patrons. I had money in a slot machine. FINALLY got the attention of an employee who was worthless. Eventually they asked people to leave the floor. Not offering info as to what to do if you had money in a machine. Had to ask. Was told to write down the machine number, time. Asked if the employee had a pen and paper and they didnt! VERY POOR RESPONSE FROM THE CASINO!!!

Its a beautiful casino dont get me wrong. Restrooms could use a little more attention. The slots could have been a little bit looser. Staff was very nice.

What a waste of what was supposed to be a fun get away.We picked this casino because we had stayed at a Station in Las Vegas. This was a big disappointment!
