A beautiful church built in the European tradition, about 1911. Lovely stained glass, vaulted arches and tabernacle/altar, that is used for Latin Masses ad orientem. Along with the Cathedral in St. Augustine, Immaculate Conception offers a historic significance to the Catholic Church in Florida.I hope that donations for restorarion and renovations will increase, as well as membership for the congregation. It is located in an area with other significant churches of various denominations, which is also an area that is not always safe or populated with residences and people. This adds to the stark and deserted atmosphere, especially in the evening.Much of Jacksonville would be a treasure and a gold mine if the proper actions were taken, but so much is in danger of being permanently lost.

I absolutely loved admiring this beautiful basilica on Easter Sunday. To our surprise, it wasn’t over crowded for mass at noon! Such a pleasant experience.

This church is absolutely breathtaking. We were in the area and just wanted to stop in to tour it because it just looks so pretty from the outside. They were in the middle of a service but they welcome to stand and invited us to sit with him during the service. It was quite a different experience for us. But we stayed in the message was really good. I loved the reference that everyone had for God. Every little detail inside of the church was beautiful. I wanted to take pictures but I didnt want to disrespect anyone in the middle of their service.

Gorgeous historic church in Jacksonville, FL! The stained glass windows are priceless. I have yet to have the chance to attend mass here, but the church is certainly a great space to enter for prayer or reflection.

Great place to visit, one of the oldest catholic churches Downtown Jacksonville. Go to visit, and admire the architecture, sculptures, painting, the glass ornament and if possible, visit during one of the special events during the season.You can also come and reflect, get in touch with your inner thoughts, culture or find your missing light. If time permits you can say a prayer for me, I will remember to do the same for you.

Absolutely beautiful church! Such kind loving welcoming place. They offer so many programs and offer extensive support for the poor, needy, immigrants, and the community of jacksonville.

Absolutely gorgeous Basilica and amazingly positive atmosphere you feel present here. Great place to pray rosary and fill your spirits with Gods grace and mercy. Serenity prayer and prayers of the heart soul and mind. Healing of our soul can be found there.

I mean its home. I dont know how to describe it better than that. Its got beautiful art and beautiful souls. What makes it great, however, isnt the beauty of its glass or its walls. In fact not even the people are what make it so special although they are made in the image of God himself.What makes it beautiful is that this church holds the holy sacrifice of the mass in Latin. While it wont make liturgical perfectionists happy its still the form of the mass that I bring anyone to show them the Faith... And the one that has never failed to illicit a response. Beyond that this is one of the few parishes in Jacksonville to hold concession before every Mass... Something which only seems to be true of more traditional parishes.

Visited on our way through, what a beautiful basilica, must visit!

Sometimes I go to early morning Mass there and I.C. is one of the few places if not the only local place where You can go to confession before each Mass. The aesthetics of this place are of the chart from the stain glass windows to the old style in which this place was built. And imagine this... while sitting there or kneeling there praying, the peaceful, soft, melodic, healing music of monks singing. Its beautiful! You really should visit the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and experience the spiritual treasures to be found within this place of tranquility

Beautiful church and the priest was great. Parking was easy. Will be coming back more often. I really enjoyed the feeling I got after coming here that lasted all week. Felt like life isnt that bad and helped my stress levels from dealing with people all week. This will now be my go-to church. The Priest was very relatable. Thank you.

I went to midnight Mass with my family and the Priest saying Mass nobody could understand because of thick Indian accent and the Cathedral was basically sprayed with white paint everywhere. What happened to the Cathedral with the beautiful wood work I knew as a kid. Very awful services will not be back

This is my home Parish. We have been attending here for almost 11 years. Very traditional Church. We love it here so much. I would recommended to any Catholic who prefers a more traditional Parish.

The church is beautiful, but if you plan to get married DO NOT do it here! The music director, James Higbe, is a theif and a liar & the “wedding planner” Cathryn Morency was beyond rude to me, my party, my guests, and even the Priest that married us. Cathryn even turned all the lights in the church out as soon as the ceremony was over and ruined all of my family photos at the alter. She also locked us out of the church when we went to take photos in front of the church with all of our stuff inside still and it took over 30 minutes to get back in to get our belongings. They are beyond unprofessional, untrustworthy, and definitely unChristian at Immaculate Conception. If I could rate them lower than 1 star I would and I caution anyone considering using them for their wedding to go anywhere else! I wish I would have!!

We enjoyed celebrating the baptism of our neice and nephew today and the view was breathtaking. The celebration of our new children joining The Church will be in our memories forever.

A beautiful, historical, and holy Basilica! There is a 12 noon Mass on Sunday and even a 2 pm Mass in Spanish! Daily Mass also includes a noon Mass! Lovely bookstore downstairs!

Mass is pretty much the same in every Catholic Church, but the Basilica is one of the more attractive surrounds in which Ive heard Mass, and Ive traveled Europe a bit. Seems a good active Catholic community, too. If I didnt have a parish Id think seriously of this one

I moved to Immaculate Conception about 2005, and have never looked back. I attend the Latin Mass. The Basilica has always attracted people from all over the city, and even from outside the city. It is a must-see for visitors, and an otherworldly place to come for Mass.

An excellent old church with a lot of history in it thats explained perfectly inside the church , the window paintings are magnificent , the way of the cross statues look well built , the dome and the altar is serene and it has plenty of statues that are well done , also free parking in front and the back of the basilica
