The pizza is delicious. When you arrive to pick up your pizza at the designated time make sure you call them. No where on their website, order confirmation, the email receipt or on the signage out front do they have anything about calling them when you arrive. And then the guy argued with me about it. I love square pizza but that experience means Im not going to be ordering from them anymore. You lost a customer because you argued with me about you NOT letting customers know your procedures.

Great pizza! Lots of styles to choose from. They have extra seating and an arcade if the place gets pack. They also have a back patio for smokers. A must have pizza spot in Independence.

Ordered the cheese pizza, it was delicious, came back a few weeks later and ordered the Supreme, it had BARELY any cheese on it, the pizza tasted like cheap gas station pizza. For the price they are not worth it. Support local works both ways

I had an hour before an appointment so I decided to eat lunch at Square Pizza after driving around and around the Independence Square.They had pizza by the slice but I decided to order a small pizza so Id have leftovers. Its a counter service operation - go in, go to the back, order. They give you a number to take to your table for your pizza delivery. They sell Pollys Pop (local soda shop down the street) in addition to fountain drinks.I ordered the Chicken Alfredo pizza with Alfredo sauce, chicken, spinach, and artichoke hearts for $12.99. It was delivered to my table in the 10x10x2 square pan it had been baked in, which kept it hot for my entire visit. I was so happy with my choice! The crust was crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. Just the right amount of sauce, melty cheese, and toppings in every bite. A small pizza is enough for 3-4 people with 8 slices. Unless you are a serious pizza eater. Maybe youll eat the whole thing and then have to be rolled out the door.Ill be back again and again!

I was a little disappointed after reading the reviews. We decided to try Square and give a local eatery some $$$. Half of the pizza was great. The other half seemed off. One half was chewy, the other half seemed stale & almost had that morning after sitting in the box on the coffee table taste.Well give them another shot and if our experience improves Ill update my review.

Very clean and convenient place. They provide large meals and for inexpensive rates. We liked the meals a lot and the staff were very attentive and explanatory. Recommended.

GLUTEN FREE CRUST! I didnt see it on their site but they do have it. Found out by word-of-mouth. The guys were great about taking the time to figure out what would work for me. Thank you! (Pizza sauce has beer in it fyi so be careful)

Had the pleasure of visiting Square Pizza while serving on a jury near the Independence square, the best part of my day was the create your own calzone I ate! Perfect amount of crust, cheese and toppings along with a healthy portion of some delicious sauce to dip it all in! If you’re looking for non-corporate pizza, you’ve gotta try this place.

Awesome pizza, pricey compared to the chain pizza places. Dont let the price scare you away from trying it, quality ingredients makes me sad we are moving out of Independence and we just found this place.

The pizza donuts are a great buy (2 for $5)and taste wonderful..especially with the excellent marinara sauce.The breadsticks are good(with the marinara) but pricey.Price jumps alot for a whole pizza but look very delicious.Slices..sold as a lunch item only..are also pricey.Pollys pop is good but overpriced.Nice atmosphere..friendly guys behind the counter..food was a little late.

The food was really good. I had the combo pizza and greek salad! But the womens bathroom was in need of some serious cleaning. I was there at 11:05 and they had just opened but it was obvious it had not been cleaned at all. Trash was over flowing and no toilet paper.

First timer. Found it very good. Decor cute. Pepperoni Pizza lots of sauce, the very stringy cheese when you get your first slice. Love that! Nice pizza nuggets house made. Very light and airy. Great for little fingers. Dont worry about having enough red dipping sauce it came in a Cereal bowl! OFF OF THE DRAG. BUT WORTH THE HUNT. Definitely give it a go. Has Polly Pop soda in the bottle if youre a fan.

I dont eat dairy; asked for the Italiano sandwich without cheese, and when the cook screwed it up and made it with cheese and my order was late, they gave me a coupon for a free pizza. Most places would not bother like that with a late order. Also, my sandwich was very good; warm, made with fresh pizza dough crust. My friend ordered a calzone, which did NOT look like the regular, heavy calzone: the crust was thinner and there was lettuce inside. The strongest thing about the place was that the marinara sauce that came with the calzone was EXCELLENT: rich with a taste you only get with homemade. (Of course, I could have been fooled by that, but it was made with an excellent recipe.)

We found this place about a year ago when we were staying in the KC area. What a find, this place is small,clean, friendly, and offers great food. They have the regular dinning area then they have another area for parties that offers games for kids to play. Im not sure how they make their crust but its always has the perfect crunch and the flavor is just amazing. We had the large meat pizza and water and a fountain drink. Id definitely recommend this place to people and Ill be back.

I really enjoy Square Pizza. We drive an hour to get it every once in a while for a special treat. The three-cheese pizza is the most perfect cheese pizza. They have a five-cheese pizza, but that is unnecessary; the three-cheese is perfection. My husband likes the hog wild or BBQ chicken. The Hawaiian is also very good with the pine nuts on top.

My best friend was in town 4 nights ago and he wanted to treat my mother and I and two girlfriends to dinner... He wanted pizza and I suggested The Square Pizza... Ive always got awesome pizza there in the past. We got a large taco with half beef half chicken and a large combination... The combination was 3/4 burnt and there were several spots that had absolutely nothing on it.... The taco pizza was 1/2 burnt...I thought a taco pizza had the ingredients of a taco... Like lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese, nacho chips of some kind... Not this taco pizza... We ordered an extra side of salsa but didnt get any at all.... All five of us were highly disappointed....

Found the pizza to be average and a little over priced. Crust did not have much flavor. Cheese was a bit thinly spread.I understand having the pizza square going with being on the Square but traditional slice cutting makes for uneven slices. Would prefer cutting on the Square into nine square pieces.

Square Pizza has a very good pizza taste. The pizza cuts are cut in squares and the food quality is amazing. Workers are respectful and the seating arrangement is set up good. Lots of room to sit and enjoy amazing pizza. Price is alittle too much, but other than that its a highly reccomend.

Love this place. The pizza is piping hot when they bring it out to you, and they have always been delicious. I think my favorite one would probably be the Hog Wild, with barbecue sauce, sausage, and bacon. The Chicken Alfredo is also a good choice. The setting with the pictures of old time Independence Square, upbeat music, and friendly employees gives a very comfortable vibe that you cant get in too many resturaunts now a days. I know I say this a lot, but the only problem is the price. A large pizza is about $20 in total. Thats a little high, but not dreadfully. I always walk away full, so maybe Im just a cheapskate. Recommend it to anyone in the area, worth going a couple times to find a favorite.

I personally know people that have previously worked there. That have witnessed bugs in the kitchen area, a fly in the pizza dough that was left there to be cooked on purpose. Managers (the brothers) not washing hands or changing gloves after using the cash register and handling cash. Pizza thrown at the wall by a manager because the worker didnt cook it correctly. Not to mention how the lead managers short the young workers checks and wages and their tip money, they work them past closing times, the kids dont get pay raises regardless how long theyve worked there or what positions they all have to do. Which is alot of times the managers workload. (they say the extra few cents an hour is not in their budget) coming from the lawyer/owners of alot of businesses on the indep square. They cant keep workers in there long because they run them all off. The managers blame the owners for pay raises and hours and tips not being right. But it doesnt take a genius to realize that the managers fill out all the paperwork. The owners which is the McClains should check in on their WORKERS, not just managers, beings the young workers are the ones keeping the business going

Square pizza is a great choice on the Square for good food and atmosphere. Lots of room and an event space with games. This makes it an ideal spot for family get togethers.

We happened on Square Pizza by chance one night. We were intrigued by the name. It’s two-fold; the restaurant is on the Square in Independence and the pizza is baked in square pans. The pizza is delicious! I’ve wanted to try the other entrees but I can’t resist ordering the yummy pizza!

I ordered the pepperoni pizza and it was one of the best Ive had. The cheese they used is the reason I like it so much it doesnt taste like they put generic mozzarella on it. Sauce isnt anything special. Wait time was a little long.
