Oldest bar in Houston. Cash only, with a very old register Please do stop by and check it out. Prices are great, atmosphere is awesome and service is good. We were lucky to be there just as they reopened from the pandemic. I really hope the business levels stay good and they keep it open. It truly is a gem. Also close to a lot of other venues.

Saturday mornings are great for walks and bike riding. If you dont have a bike, perhaps you may want to rent one. There is plenty of space to walk, maybe with your puppy to enjoy the area. You can view the history or the old pictures, plus the activity board. Some people just simply stroll around and relax.

I loved this park the dog park was clean, so clean there was a group of people having a picnic on a portion of it. The cops kept any homeless person in the neighborhood away and the food truck had some really juicy burgers. The location is amazing there are so many eateries around the area and a nice mural to take pictures near

A fun little stop off in downtown Houston. Its small, but has some great seating and several restaurants with grab and go style food.Pro tip: On Sundays parking is free in downtown. On a nice day, you can swing over to Market Square, grab some Niko Nikos from the kiosk or a couple of slices of pizza from Franks right down the street and enjoy a picnic outside. Great place for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Fantastic layout of the park. Lots of seating and walkways. There is also a dog park. Doesnt smell great in that area but the landscaping around the dog park helps contain the smell from lingering. We visited during dusk and evening and the lighting was comfortable. I felt safe. The surrounding businesses offer a nice level of excitement to the environment as well as the Niko Niko restaurant in the park.

Great greenspace in the historic part of Houston, Texas. Theres a dog park which is split into 2 sides, big dogs and little dogs with both having water fountains so that the pooches dont fall out in our summer heat. :-) 3 wonderful sculptures including the Houston skyline in metal. Foodwise Nico Nico is the only vendor acutally in the park. But, across the street on the east side theres Treebeards (they are now open for lunch on Saturdays) while on the north side theres Barnabys and Sapporo Sushi for food while you have La Carafe, Houstons oldest bar and haunted place. On a serious note, there is a garden, Laurens Garden, with fountains and sculptures, which was created to honor, and never let us forget those we lost on that terrible day 9/11.

Love this nice little park in downtown. The dog park is spacious, and my dog loves the water area. Its not as big as some other dog parks but much bigger than expected for the area. I love the pavilion and seating. Open wifi would be great but is not a perk at this time. Still though, its lovely. I love their evening movies in the park. It makes it feel like fall.

Market square park offers a variety of fun community events, lots of beautiful greenery and landscaping, a dog park that gets pretty busy in the early mornings, and late evenings, as well as various water fountains, sculpture, and even a Niko Nikos. The park is well maintained and clean. It’s centrally located in downtown Houston’s historic district. There is loads of street parking available on the street around the park, as well as several parking lots and garages. My favorite summer activity at the park are the concerts on the green.

Weve always driven past this park but on Super Bowl Sunday, we decided to explore the park while it was relatively empty. Parking is available on the street along all four corners of the park, which takes up a whole city block. There are curved stone benches throughout along the borders of the park of which the seat backs are made up of a mosaic of colored stones. In the center of the park is a rectangular, covered, elevated patio that is attached to the Niko Nikos situated on the northern end of the park closer to Congress street. There are tables and chairs set up on that patio. Next to it, there are wooden benches set on the grass for extra seating. In the corner (Congress and Travis), there are portable restrooms. Across from that are bike racks and also a station to rent bikes. Along the Congress street border is Laurens Garden which is dedicated to the victims of 9/11. There is a foundation comprised of three walls that represent each of the crash sites. Its a nice memorial set in downtown Houston.

Simply beautiful and perfect place to stop. I mean I guess you gotta be wary of who else is here sometimes, but its fantastic during the daylight and gorgeous weather. Do yourself a favor and stop in here! Pet friendly, good for walking, boarding, biking, strolling, hiking and even studying. Plenty of amazing food places nearby. Serene scene includes water by which to relax, very important to me. Hop skip and a jump from the Metrorail and multiple bus lines. The surrounding area is like a shopping town within a town. Kind of reminds me of the shops and eateries in Galvestons downtown.
