Very good museum has very good works of art

Unassuming from the outside, the inside is like a section from an established museum was transported to the location. Exhibits here are thought-provoking, at times challenging, and always worth seeing. Bonus that its off the beaten path, so you often have the space to yourself. Weve seen several exhibits here and now look forward to the announcements of new ones.

My first visit to Station Museum was during the Cassils Exhibit of this year. The spacious, intimate gallery was perfect to experience Cassils diverse visual works. The staff greeted me and were receptive to my questions. They also encouraged me to sign up for future shows. Will be back for Irvin Tepper in October!

Had an awesome time at this beautiful gem of a museum . Its a very cool place with a great peaceful vibe, with a refreshing collection and awesome customer service. Its a true artist at hearts delight. Will definitely be back!

Was very good but became more a venue for political diatribe than art

Very very eye opening and interesting experience. Definitely makes you think about and question things that maybe have be afraid to truly look at within.

Ive only been here twice, but really valued it both times and am now on their mailing list so should get there more often. Theres just one large space - sometimes partitioned up, other times not - so theres just one exhibition at a time. The things they put on are thoughtful, provocative, interesting. Sometimes unsettling, as with the exhibition we saw today on Torture. Free admission, some parking out the front; the people working there are helpful and friendly and will answer any questions you have. Worth a look :)

It is small enough to digest all of the displays which I appreciate. We spent about an hour there which includes some pondering. If you arent going to bring your consciousness with you, its gonna be a short and disappointing ride. We meditated, so to speak, on some of the pieces and we felt changed upon leaving. Some pieces had heavy weight dealing with social issues, others doused with humor, and others just artistic comical non-sense. There was a great balance. We loved it!

Along with the Menil Museum, The Station shares billing as the most innovative and topical smaller venue in Houston.Carefully curated expositions explore modern art in all of its dimensions, especially with social and political relevance.Im always delighted and challenged at The Station. And as with The Menil, it should be a mandated stop for everyone who transits through town.

Wandering down Alabama, after passing thru HCC as I looked for the Buffalo Soldiers Museum...I came across this unassuming place, yesterday, so went in....To my fellow Conservatives....dont let the the Commie, Socialist, Far Left literature on offer frighten you off....Dont let the fact that the subject matter of the current, thought-provoking exhibit, or the fact that part of it is a work by the guy famous for Piss Christ, is disturbing and of a viewpoint different from yours scare you off...you can handle it. :-D I found it all interesting and had a nice chat with the guy behind the desk at the entrance....I would not mind visiting again when a new exhibit arrives....Oh, and because I remember the poor deluded Commies standing on street corners passing it out in the LA of my younger days...I took home the latest edition of Revolution, the propaganda rag of the Communist Party USA...just to see what the fools were up to...seems their longtime Grand Poobah has some new ideas and they are even trying to get everyone out of their parents garages and into the streets to overthrow Trump, or something, tomorrow. :-D

The absolute coolest museum to visit...off the beaten track but great curating of art with social impact ... always an education and frequently eye opening ...

A museum deserved more people should visit

Their exhibitions are my favorite in Houston. Get to see Parallel Kingdom before it closes October 2.
