I went to a concert on Nov 7 and there was no enforcement of social distancing (6 feet between parties) and no one was required to keep their masks on. Instead, there were approx. 2 feet between parties and everyone took their masks off when seated. COVID does not disappear when you are seated (at a concert or restaurant) and having people sing with no masks on is how this virus spreads. The venue itself is nice, but their handling of COVID is abysmal.

One.ofmy.favourite venues ins city chuffed with them: its an intimate setting. An old cinema. renovated into. A music space. Bar in the lobby.is reasonably priced. Ticketing online only you arrive they have a list with your name, number Of tickets etc... Parking what you would expect on 19th street. Tickets are reasonably priced. A good choice for an intimate show. If the AC were stronger I would give 5 stars

The staff at The Heights Theater work hard to make sure you enjoy the artist you came to see! Friendly staff, great bar, and a nice little venue to relax and enjoy music. Theres parking at the theater as well as across the street at Southern Dental. At first I was confused because the event said parking at Southern Dental anytime after 6, but their sign in the lot said theater parking anytime after 7. All was good though.

Small intimate venue. Almost like seeing a show in your own living room. Sound quality is good. Seating is VERY LIMITED. Perhaps 75 seats at most. Standing space on the floor will accommodate maybe 250 or so. If you see a band on their schedule that youre interested in, this is definitely the place to see the band UP CLOSE. I just saw The Black Lillies and Jonathan Tyler& The Northern Lights. Fantastic show. I plan on going back for sure.

Quality shows and performers in a relatively small venue, pretty good acoustics, decent bar, friendly staff. Some shows are seated, some standing. I wish the let you download tickets ahead of time to streamline entry and transfer, especially since you have to pay the online processing/convenience fees anyway.

Honestly? Houstons best kept secret venue. Went to see The Paper Kites last night and the venue is perfect for an intimate concert with whomever is playing. The space is beautiful and historic with a strong sense of age to remind visitors of the timeless Heights aesthetic. Parking is free and bountiful and the workers are pleasant, warm, and welcoming. I only wish I knew more of the acts that play here! But because I love this venue so much, I might just find myself back here for the heck of it. Cannot wait to return!

Such a retro theater feel which was great. Staff in all areas were professional and helpful. 4 stars is for drink prices. $6 for a bottle of beer. $12-$15 for a regular drink. That was a bit disappointing after $50 ticket price. Eat before you go here. Entertainment area was intimate. So glad for the experience.

I have been to several shows at this location and the performers have been average to very good. There is an occasional problem getting the microphones balanced and satisfactory. The tickets are pricey and the drinks overpriced. The staff however has been consistently rude and stressed. It seems like overall they don’t smile and seem to dislike the patrons and their job. The staff spoils the experience for what could be a great venue and music show. Young folks with attitude on the staff and mature adults looking for an entertaining evening.

This is a gorgeous place. A friend of mine had an extra ticket for the Bacon Brothers show so I took the invitation. The exterior has a vintage feel and the inside was clean and welcoming. There is reserved seating right in front of the stage, chair seating on majority of the floor, balcony seats, annddd seating towards the back. Even though the chairs are close to each other, I wasnt uncomfortable. It kind of gave you the chance to talk to your neighbors more. Great show, the sound was superb, and I cant wait to go back.

I love the venue, the location, the ambiance. My major complaint is with the consistency of the sound quality. It is a bit hit or miss. Sometimes the low end is missing, sometimes its muddy, and sometimes its perfect. Since times the vocals are over saturated, and sometimes they are over powering the rest of the mix. Please go to this venue, it is really a great place to catch a show, but I really hope the sound gets better.

One of the best music venues in Houston. It is the perfect blend of large size and coziness. It is large enough for big music acts to come through and play it while still being small enough to always provide a great, intimate experience. Sometimes it is a bit difficult to get a drink due to line length. I usually buy an extra when I am at the bar but they should really increase their serving capacity.

Been here for several shows. Had every ticket option they have. Ive found that (for me) the GA option is not my favorite. Its really awkward if you dont get there early enough to grab a seat. Reserved tables & the suite ticket options are the best if you want a guaranteed spot to sit & enjoy the show. The staff is always friendly. There are no drinks permitted outside so if you are a smoker or just want some fresh air during a break in the music, you have to leave your drink unattended inside. Not that I dont feel safe at the Heights Theater, but Id rather just take it with me. Parking isnt an issue normally. There is a bank a block down that allows you to park there (after they close) for no fee. Im sure Ill be back to enjoy live music soon!

I actually traveled from Oklahoma to this venue for a concert and boy was I surprised. This is probably the best venue I have had the pleasure of going to. It is a clean venue with polite staff that has a great atmosphere. The venue is split into two floors with the pit being on the first and the second floor having seating around the edge of the main room with great views of the stage. It is also a smaller venue leading to a more personal connection with the artist on stage. Brilliant place and I will return if I get a chance.

The sound system went out and so Gary Nicholsen played acoustic, luckily he saved it. Ray whylie hubbard was awesome, however we wont be back to the heights. I love small music venues like this one and Heights didnt disappoint my expectations. It is an old movie theater from what I understand. There are table seats up front then general admission seats, there are also gallery seats in the balcony. Anywhere you sit would be a good view honestly it just depends how close you want to be. The good: Great artists. Decent sound and acoustics. Comfortable seats with excellent sight lines. Convenient location. Lovely restored building. Smooth and friendly pickup of “will call” tickets. The bad: Was asked to leave mezzanine seating area shortly after show ended (Monty Montgomery, 8/9/2018). Confronted employee about directive and was directed to speak with “manager” downstairs. Employee spoke with manager before I arrived downstairs. Upon meeting the “Manager” and as I started to share my experience, I was asked to leave. I proceeded to walk out the front door and to “add insult to injury “, manager asked security to escort me out. I’ve never been asked to leave a bar, restaurant, theater or any public place in my life. Completely bizarre, unexpected and “off the charts” inappropriate response and behavior on the part of the manager. I didn’t raise my voice, nor use profanity and only consumed one adult beverage which was before start of show. I’ve only experienced this kind of behavior in the past from people with mental health challenges and/or drug abuse problems. My suggestion to the Ownership of this theater is to take a good look and consider other options for this position. Looking at the other reviews, it doesn’t appear this is an isolated incident.

A bit conflicted here. The venue itself is good, the acoustics is decent, and its right-sized. The flip side if it is that the seating on the balcony is configured badly. The front row is where you want to be if you are not facing the stage. The row of high chairs is positioned such that the view of the stage is marginal, and will be blocked by the people in the front. Air-conditioning is many areas is quite anemic.

The female bartender was subpar. Not only was her attitude disgusting, but she overcharged us two drinks. The owner threatened to call the police on us when we complained of the service. Omg so we are very normal everyday people and we dont like subpar service and when we called out the abusive language of the bartender we were threatened. This place is a joke.
