Great little exhibit to see while in the Houston area. They ask you not to take photos inside so I respected those wishes. I think this would be a good place to just get some quiet time while in the fast paced city. I hear they also have live concerts and events sometimes as well! All in all a beautiful art - light exhibit worth visiting!

Although the roof is still under repair, when it was open I liked the artwork for its concept and minimalist style.

Gorgeous installation and free admission!

I think the Menil needs to work on making this installation more accessible conceptually. Colored florescent lights, a large open space and no photography allowed (a no-no if they want to attract more visitors) mean you will likely spend five minutes following the interior wall before returning to the entrance to exit and wonder what else they could use this large space for.

They had lights...That’s it.I was tempted to just shout because I’m sure this place has a great echo.

It’s beautiful but the guard stares you down and makes it uncomfortable to enjoy the lights, you’re also not allowed to take pictures. I’ve been to better museums that allowed pictures. This place was a waste of my time.

If youre here already its cool, but dont go out of your way to see it

Amazing installation that seems way more modern than it is. Unfortunately no photos allowed but its worth experiencing regardless.

Awesome place! Thought it would be cool to take photos here, but one thing to note is that you cant take photos inside.

Although its quite a long walk from the rest of the Menil collection, its truly worth the trek. The lights are dazzling, and the skylight helps to counteract the colors. Plus Dan Flavins bright white fluorescent Monuments for V. Tatlin in the back of the building help to also counteract and add a bit of a contrast to the colorful main installation of the building.

Cool exhibit but the guy working there was extremely rude and unreasonable, got kicked out for taking a selfie, and he said if I did it again law enforcement would be involved. I understand if they dont want you using a big camera to take pictures, but the fact that you cant even use your phone is unbelievable.

Beautiful fluorescent lights in gel colors . we think best viewed at night and conversely doors closed at night . needs a handful of the lightbulbs replaced . would be a cool venue for a reception/banquet/concert...

Very cool and minimalist exhibit, I just wish you could take photographs! Also kind of hidden away, but it was nice to walk through.

A fantastic must see spot for Flavin fans. The spare cavernous space serves to highlight the interplay of light and shadow that exemplifies this work.

The History is cool, but compared to the Menil, Cy Twonbly Gallery and Rothko Chapel... Its a bit underwhelming.

An amazing exhibition but idk what the docent was doing standing in the bathroom the whole time.

I appreciate art but this display was hard to find the feeling. It is worth the visit if youre in the area.

It was nice, but there was a bus of senior citizens also visiting who were talking and shuffling about so it was hard to appreciate

The Dan Flavin Installation is part of the Menil Collection. Not worth the trip to Houston (!), but interesting to see as a part of the Menil Collection.
