The place has truly lowered the experience of what used to be the Jones Hall. They have really cheapened an outing to the symphony but have kept the same price. For the same price as months ago, you get less and they get more. You don’t even get a printed ticket because they rip it off a sheet of paper and write your seats in a corner. This wouldn’t even happen in an elementary school play! Those are operated at higher standard than this Jones Hall now. They decided to not create a brochure to be able to read more about the pieces while here. I can’t even get a nice take home item to cherish the night a bit more later? If they want to save on printing paper, just print less, but some of us want to get off a screen and don’t bring phones or are trying to disconnect. Offer the option. Pass it with a glove and we’ll be okay.

Gorgeous theatre and the acoustics were amazing. We saw Ray Lamontagne - he was good, but the songs started to get repetitive. That said, like I said the acoustics were amazing and the venue was very cool. Side note, if you need to go to the bathroom on the first floor, its pretty much a maze to find them.

The family had a great time. We just enjoy music and there is no better place than the Jones Hall. They had vendors for food lovers, wine lovers etc. Parking is an issue, so come in advance and find a good parking. Make sure you read and understand all parking signs. If you don’t, is just better to park in a private parking or use the valet parking. In this case, I think it is worth it.

An amazing place recommend to everyone. You will definitely enjoy the Symphony night with your significant or friends.

Awesome sounding venue and really convenient if you live near the core of the city. I have only seen a handful of shows here over the past 35 years but if you get a chance to see a band here...do it. Staff wasnt very helpful but oh well.

A nice respected building with sidewalks covered by the large overhanging roof... which is its only pedestrian friendly feature. Otherwise, it is not very welcoming from the outside... little else but lots of high stone walls, and too small pavestones on the sidewalk in a color that just looks perennially dirty.

Awesome venue for all things performance. The acoustics and sound are amazing inside the hall the seating is very comfortable and relaxed with plenty of space. Lots of lounge area with a nice bar and Neil sitting alone cocktail tables plenty of restroom space and just overall awesome place. Great amenities. I love coming here for concerts. Good sightlines throughout the auditorium. The acoustics are fabulous. Of course, the Houston Symphony is just terrific. They always play great music. The conductors are lively and engaging. It is always a great show with wonderful music. We will back again and again and again.

I had my first experience at Jones hall last night, watching and listening to the Houston symphony. The performance hall is stunning. The lighting and the sound were amazing. The seats were super comfortable and even had a way to incline them just enough. I look forward to attending another event at this venue in the future.

Mendelssohns violin concerto in E minor was spectacular.

I loved this place. The reception is amazing and people are so helpful. Above everything, their shows are beyond expressions. I loved it. Ill be visiting this place more often now.

I enjoyed the concert a lot, but I must say that the experience of the night was to go through the entire theater to get to the nearest restroom. It was hell, and if I have to change venue for enjoying another performance that would be my one reason to do it. I dont want to think getting out of the bathroom area during an emergency. It was awful!

Saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix concert. It was a magical experience. The conductor encouraged everyone to clap and shout out during the concert. A lot of people came dressed in wizard robes and brought wands with them. There was also a pop up store where you could buy HP merch.

You cant not give Jones Hall a 5 star rating. We have been going here for 8 years as students (undergrad to doctoral) and loved every time weve gone here. You can hear everything even when youre on the top floor with no microphone. Food and wine is kinda pricey but thats expected.

Andres is amazing! The Houston symphony is top notch producing numerous recordings which are often played on NPR. For those not into hardcore classical or wanting to tempt your child into enjoying instrumental music, they also have a pops symphony and Harry Potter showings with orchestral accompaniment.

I love this place. Acoustics are awesome. Any seat is a good seat. Everything is spotless and food is not too expensive. I did not buy drinks so I cant comment on those.

The Houston Symphony has a wonderful program for upper elementary students.This years program was the best Ive been to in all my years of being associated with the program. Very engaging.

This is a nearly perfect performance hall...the Houston Symphony Orchestra always sounds phenomenal here. The acoustics are great; you hear every instrument evenly and clearly, and there really are no bad seats.My only (minor) complaint is getting to the restrooms is a little involved...theyre located basically in the basement. Roomy and clean, just a bit of a trek to get to.

We love Jones Hall. Its got lots of windows, and its easy to navigate to find your seats. The parking can be a bit tough in downtown, but the connected garage is really nice if you dont mind the price. The Light Rail drop off right there if you wanna save on the downtown driving and parking.

My first time here was to see Boys II Men and what a show they put on with a live symphony! One of the best live performances I’ve ever seen and the atmosphere was very classy. Definitely would love to come back and check our more events.

Beautiful performance hall with nice seating. Sound level from the orchestra was perfect. My only complaint would be that there seemed to be only one restroom that I saw for the entire auditorium causing a huge line during our intermission.

We all love Jones Hall. All the shows we have attended have exceeded our expectations. The place is always neat and there are many ushers helping you find your seats. Sound is great regardless of where you sit. It never disappoints us. Suscribe to get the programs and discounts ahead of time!

Its a nice venue. Theres at least 4 levels to the building. Underground parking and the tunnels make it easy to access. Only complaint is downtown can get difficult at times due to traffic, one way streets; its easy to lose where youre going.

Several elevators were not working. It is not easy to know where to park. The staff, however, was gracious and kind & alcohol prices were the best of any venue we have been to.

Saw the Brian Setzer Orchestra-it was amazing! The usher helped us get better seating and was very patient as I tried to find our tickets on my phone. Great venue! Would definitely recommend and will go again

Jones Hall is vast. You really want to sit on the main floor if you want to see. We were in the mezzanine tonight and it was quite far to the stage. On the other hand, the acoustics were excellent. We had no problem hearing the readings and conversation on stage. I attach a photo from our seats. There are two chairs on the stage.

Wonderful venue except it is not very handicapped accessible. Lots of stairs with no other way to access your seating if you are in a wheelchair. Be aware and call ahead before you buy tickets.

Went to see Selena Symphony and was it was very nIce. You can hear all instruments playing. I went in there thinking it was loud like movie theater speakers everywhere but it was relaxing. Til of course Selenas number one hits were sung and it became a dancing house party. It was great.

This visit was the first time that I have ever been to a symphony. It was an incredible experience, even though the 90s kiddy rock group, Hanson was performing. 25 years after their heyday... They showed their abilities with such a talented orchestra in the background. I am eager to return to see/hear what else is in store for me.

Stunning space. Stunning performances. Easily accessible by the red line! As a new resident to Houston, we are very excited about the programming and its convenience to our neighborhood, Near Northside.

The music selection and performance was one of the most exciting I have ever heard. Ended with Beethoven No. 7.The conductor wore an untucked long shirt, plain black pants and contrasting tuxedo patent shoes while all others were in tuxedo tails. A bit unconventional.And Jones Hall restrooms location and size is extremely far and small. You walk down a narrow stairwell that you have to turn sideways to pass a single lane going up. Its down then up then over more. Rarely have I attended such a large venue and seen such an extemely long line out of the mens restroom.It was truly an overall memorable experience.

The seats in Orchestra area are high-end. I paid $200 per seat. My suit size is 46 Long. I felt the seats were narrow and uncomfortable. The restroom was some floors below. The access/exit is through a narrow stairway just wide enough for one person to pass. In case of an emergency, this is a disaster waiting to happen!

It was my first time visiting. Had wanted to visit here for so long. Saw the Final Fantasy performance. Had a great time. It was wonderful and the sound was incredible.

Houston symphony was so enjoyable and beautiful!!!! Jones hall management they need to hire more workers at the bar. The two long lines just didn’t cut it. Half of us didn’t get to purchase drinks because it was already time to go back. Waited approximately 15 minutes in line.

Comfortable seats. Conductor Andres is always hilarious. Can often hear the older folks snickering about the good old days before they added big projector screens inside the hall but they update the experience and dont detract from what the orchestra is trying to do.

Such a fun experience to see Chicago for the first time at the Jones Hall. Such a pretty building in Downtown and not a bad seat in the house!

Just came back from seeing Star wars empire strikes back. the most incredible experience I have ever had. I will never be able to see this movie the same way again. Im just blown away how incredible the symphony is. highly recommend to everybody young and old.

So this was a really cool place. First time I had ever been here...the bad...its downtown, so parking logically sucks. But I parked about two blocks away for only $5 as I couldnt find anything else. The theater is quite nice and tons of staff help guide you. No drinks in the theater did suck, but I get the logic behind it. Drinks in the waiting area werent too frazy expensive at least... Ill be back!

This was my husband & Is first symphony experience & it did not disappoint. We enjoyed watching the Cirque De Symphony!

This is an absolutely beautiful theater, designed for optimal viewing seating (there isnt a bad seat anyplace). The staff and local performers who entertained the masses prior to the show were top notch.

Like all theaters, pricing can be higher than expected but, comparably, Jones Hall events are reasonably priced and theres not really a bad seat in the house that weve experienced. Only negative is that they need more womens restroom according to my wife

We are very happy to be close to an excellent performance venue! The staff at Jones Hall obviously works hard to provide a great experience. The offerings and pricing are varied for all ranges of patrons.Perhaps a map or detailed signage would help with walking to the restroom. Keep up the great work!

Saw Harry Potter Order of the Pheonix. Yes they play the music and the movie. Yes it is amazing and yes, it is affordable to go. Crowed participation unlike any theater I have ever been in. My date and I loved it! Great date night activity!

Houston symphony was truly amazing...I wish the other conductor was there, as the guest conductor played so fast and rammed the pieces so closely together, it was a bit insulting. But the pieces were beautiful inspite of the race to the finish.

The ushers and elevator attendants were outstanding and went above and beyond to help patrons. This was my third Shen Yun attendance, and I always needed help getting to my seat without using stairs.The staff warmly greeted me, and once I explained my difficulty with stairs, they coordinated to reseat me in a more accessible area. The older usher who sat me checked on me and others in similar situations; when the performance ended, she escorted me to the stage exit to ensure that I didnt encounter any stairs.The elevator attendants were the sweetest older ladies who made me feel quite welcome. The ushers were elegantly efficient, ensuring minimal disturbance to the performance. At no point did I ever feel rushed or bothersome. Their level of service made a great night that much better!

Beautiful venue with fantastic acoustics. The timeline and photos displayed downstairs are pretty cool as well. Plenty of friendly staff on hand to assist with directions, help with seating, and serve the different snacks and beverages. ***Special note: no drinks allowed at your seat on symphony nights in order to respect the performance and necessary silence.

We had a great time at the Wynona Judd Christmas show. We always enjoy going to The Jones Hall of Performing Arts. Great Venue.

Went to see Chicago. I really enjoyed it. Amazing choreography and vocals. Bars located everywhere, food options in the back, and restrooms (which were super clean) are located downstairs. Staff was friendly.

My favorite concert hall in Houston, yay in all of Texas. Have yet to find a bad seat in this place. Even up in the cheap seats, the sound is great.

Its beautiful inside and comfortable seats. Red carpet. My first time to the Symphony and I can not wait to go back. The audio was very clear and surround sound was spectacular. Easy to get to and lots of places to park around there cheaper then $12.

Beautiful ambiance and acoustics. The seats were a little short to my liking. Really intriguing ceiling design. All in all, a good place in downtown area to visit for any show/event.

Jones Hall is a great space and the Houston Symphony is spectacular. Got nose bleed seats for the symphony performing John Williamss music to Star Wars with the movie and, even from the balcony, the sound was great though the screen was tiny. There are some seats in the balcony with obstructed views so be mindful of that. There are bars on the ground floor and balcony level with a pretty good selection of drinks.

Has a grand and formal feeling but the theater itself seemed a bit dated. Also, there is seating behind the light and sound control area so you could have bright computer screens in front of you during a performance.

Came here for a class project all casual Friday, that was embarrassing lol Learned that they had a Star Wars concert, so I missed out on that. All in all, I had a very good time. Check up the website for future shows.

Today was a special day to take my son to someplace I have seen so many shows. We both enjoyed the Circus 1903 performance.

Love Jones Hall. I am sure there are newer, shiner and fancier places across the country, let alone the world. It is a beautiful building built in the mid 1960s. Ive never been in a seat that didnt have beautiful sound and I love that there are not isles going through the seating. Everyone enters from the side, simply find the row you are on above the entry doors and you need only walk through the door to your seat. Some complain about people needing to exit during a performance, but honestly, that is rare. The intermissions allow for those needed breaks. The facilitys biggest flaw, in my opinion, is the restrooms. The main restrooms are downstairs and the stairwell is narrow. There are a good amount of stalls for the ladies, but because there only three ladies rooms throughout the building, they all have very long lines and the gentlemans develop a long line as well, though theirs does clear faster. Because of this, the scheduled fifteen minute intermissions are often expanded to 20 minutes. Even so, there are always a few folks that are let in after the first song post intermission. My advise, skip the drinks and the merchandise until after the restroom, by the time you get there, youll need to go ;)

We were at Jones Hall for my daughters graduation. I worried that the parking would be difficult, but it was super easy. Ill be honest, the seating is a little tight, but the employees were very helpful and nice, clean bathrooms, etc. It is simply beautiful! This location made a special night even more special.

I love Jones hall. The shows are a bit here and there for me. I love the Broadway productions that come through and some of the other concert/performance (Stomp, Finding Neverland, and Alton Brown have been three of my all time favorites, thusfar). I love the talks afterwards, theyre always fun.I would give 5 stars, however:* I do love the opening shows in the lobby, BUT the last couple times Ive been, guests have been blocking the hand rails. It makes it very difficult for my handicappable mother to get up and down the stairs when the doors open. There was a very elderly woman whos family nearly had to carry her at a show because she couldnt support herself with just the wall.* I know it would be an undertaking, but I wish there was a walkway through the center of the lowest level. I find it hard to get to the center as it is, and often see people climb over chairs when theyve gone down the wrong row. I cant imagine how its up to code per fire safety, but what do I know?

The best acoustics hall in Houston. We came here to see the official Chicago, The Musical Ive seen a few live musicals. I was very happy with this performance. The actors were incredible.

Houston Symphony which is one of the best in US deserves a better designed concert hall. Concert hall is great in terms of acoustics and capacity. But, the rest is a massive mismanagement of space. Especially, the restroom locations and accessing them could not have been any worse. What was the architect thinking of 50+ years ago?
