We went here for our anniversary with friends and It was so much fun. Our group was ready to go and had to start using our brain right from the time we entered the lobby. You’ve done escape rooms before - but not like THIS. Prepare to be dazzled and wowed. The experience was like none other; an evening you’ll never forget. Beautiful staging and an engaging story. A must-do for all ages and ranges of skill. The only thing missing was perhaps a box of tissues to dry my tears after feeling the full emotional impact of this experience. 10/10, highly recommended.

This was the best Escape room experience i have ever had. We did The Man from Beyond .I used the because it didnt feel like a standard Escape room. It felt more like i was in a Scene from a play, and rather than an audience member i became a cast member..I understand some people can feel naturally awkward interacting with Actors and Actress with in these settings and my advice is ....just let go....Relax....Play into it...Its just you, your friends and the cast...and everyone is there to enjoy themselves.This feels like an evolution on escape room entertainment.If you want to experience an interactive play, with really cool set design THAT YOU get to manipulate , than i can HIGHLY recommend Strange Bird Immersive - The Man from Beyond.

Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish!! So clever, so imaginative, extremely innovative and thought provoking, creative and interactive with the actors, the clues and all that is offered in this magical experience. Not only is this an escape room experience, but it is more a giant puzzle with fantastic and creative clues, decor, period pieces and props! Truly one of a kind experience if one is interested and intrigued with and fun mix of puzzles and interactive immersive theater and escape rooms. I haven’t enough good things to say about Madame Daphne and the entire seance and Houdini theme. Mysterious, often alarming and spooky (in a good way) and so very very fun!! Lives up to its review and expectations, in fact, it surpassed our expectations easily. We are experienced escape room and participatory theater people, and this experience was a beautifully crafted mixture of both. The actress that played Madame Daphne was a class act, never broke character, not once and delivered us into a great experience and was there to usher us out closing things out with perfection. The props are professionally done, well made, stylized perfectly and well designed. The escape room was challenging, weaved into the story perfectly and well thought out. Bravo!

I took my sister, her fiance, and the rest of the wedding party here for a bach night experience and it was phenomenal. Everything about the experience from the waiting room to the finale was perfectly executed. Its fun for all types, but if youre a Welcome to Night Vale/weird twitter type, youll extra dig it. Its also the best actual puzzle room Ive ever done, with interesting and engaging puzzles.

My wife and I have done over 30 escape rooms and Strange Bird was by far the best. This is more of an interactive theater production with an escape room in the middle. Excellent for date night, fun with friends. Highly recommended!

Im what one might call an escape room enthusiast. So, when I moved to Houston, I started sifting through reviews to find the best. I learned about Strange Bird Immersive about a year ago. A couple months following my new discovery, they had delightful news - they will be moving to a new bigger location. Hearing this news excited me, but as expected, that news came with a wait. During the wait I found myself getting more and more hyped for the reopening. Their website and descriptions have a similar vibe to Sleep No More, and I was excited for an escape room experience with the immersion. But, even beyond that during the wait they sprinkled their social media with thrilling updates and an adorable Wheres Walter? game to get you invested in finding and celebrating the new location. Its a year later now and I believe the experience was definitely worth the wait. The acting, effects, and attention to detail are on point.I tend to be extremely picky about escape rooms and this place does it from the moment you walk in the door.

One we had our goal to achieve we thoroughly enjoyed the puzzles we had to solve in order to progress. It is great that there is a system for getting assistance with challenges if you need them, which is in keeping with the room. The level of thought and design and obvious passion and love that has gone into this experience is evident.No matter if you are a seasoned enthusiast or an absolute beginner this is an absolute must do experience when you are in Houston, or heck even if you are not in Houston and have to travel from Australia to get here, you should!A big thank you to Brad and Amanda(my brain was over stimulated and I’m not 100% sure I got that right?) for being so welcoming to us.Add this to your bucket lists, you won’t regret it.

We walk into an empty suite, with no one to greet us. The experience has already begun. True to their word, Strange Bird Immersive is about so much more than escaping a room.When we find Madame Daphne, I feel a nervous excitement for the next sequence of events, as I have no idea what to expect. Her study has the right lighting to set the mood and beautifully written nuggets of medium wisdom, and the time we spend there contains elements that make it feel like a custom experience just for us. Even waiver signing integrates seamlessly with the story.When the seance begins, its so immersive that Im only comforted by the knowledge that...this is an escape room and not real? And as we proceed through puzzles, Im amazed by the custom set pieces that fit with the Houdini theme, the incredible use of lighting and sound, and how we uncover more secrets as we proceed. I even grow to care about what happens to Madame Daphne.By the end, Ive gone through a diverse array of emotions--dread, sadness, hope, intrigue. Out of the over 100 rooms Ive completed, there have only been two other rooms (Lab Rat in Los Angeles and Storykeeper in Seattle) that evoked such feelings, where I felt like I was transported into a new world and became part of the story.As an escape room enthusiast that appreciates a good story, I traveled from the Bay Area to Houston just for this room, and it was well worth it. Strange Bird is, no doubt, a place that people should check out.

I just did this room and after 106 rooms across the US, this is the clear cut #1. My fiancé that joined me literally had tears in her eyes with how amazing this experience was. The way The Man from Beyond was constructed was so well thought out. The immersive theater aspects did not hinder the puzzle play aspects. In fact, the immersive theater portions enhanced the meaning behind why you were solving these strange puzzles in the first place. I never felt as if the actors or story were getting in the way of me solving a puzzle. Major props to Strange Bird for thinking through the logistics of their medium to deliver an experience that was anything but frustrating. Strange Bird has definitely created something that will hopefully become part of the industry-standard moving forward.The cast and crew were all top-notch and delivered an experience that brought me to tears. Never has the agency I have felt in an escape room led to a payoff as emotionally rich and rewarding as this room. Wow, this was an amazing experience. I was weary at first due the low amount of reviews, but I learned thats because this location is new. And wow, it was amazing in every single way.I am an avid escape room player, this being my 44th room, and have done them all over the US. This place ranks in atleast the top 3 of all of them. The atmosphere was perfect, the puzzles were creative and fun and the best part was the Acting.The acting was by far the best Ive ever seen and I wish I could have thanked the actors after the show. This was created with love and, lucky for us, lots of talent. When you hear so many times how great something is, sometimes you cant help but wonder if it can really be that good. I went in a skeptic and left a believer. I have played over 170 escape rooms around the country. This is a top 5 experience. Though it is an escape room it is so much more, classifying this is hard to do. From the customer service to the set design to the puzzle quality, all are top notch. Ive never had an emotional experience in an escape room before and this game moved me to tears. If this is your first escape room, lucky you, the bar is set high. The best escape room experience Ive ever had!! Have to try it to to experience what I mean. Not the traditional experience, but rather a themed experience which makes it better!!! Fantastic experience that left our entire group with two questions. 1. How have we not heard about this place before? 2. How did they do all of this? Immersive is the best word to describe this experience. From the casting and costume to special effects, props and puzzles the entire performance was engaging, fun and just a little bit creepy. In a group of 8 this was for two of us, our first experience in an escape room. The other 6 though said it was the best they had been to. They scheduled a private party for us for a friends birthday celebration when the time slot we were looking at filled up. This was the most fun we’ve had as a group where everyone enjoyed it immensely. The immersive was amazing, questions if “are we still in the game? Is this real?” came up and made it so much more fun!We enjoyed Madame Daphne and her hosting of the experience! I will return with new friends for sure!

Arrive early in order to hit the restrooms and so this live event can start promptly on time.

Unlike regular escape rooms, this room has Madame Daphne in character interacting with you the whole time, rather than the guide that you usually have on the radio in other rooms. The room decor and props were extremely detailed and all the puzzles flowed together, as opposed to the random take-code-and-try-everywhere that you see often.This was a very memorable experience, and I would recommend it to anyone in the least bit interested in roleplaying or puzzle games in general. I had no idea where I was going, just a night out with friends. I had to read the other reviews to find out this is called immersive theater. Wow! From the minute I walked in I didnt want to leave! Madame Daphne was a charming and appropriately creepy hostess. Her entrance room was fascinating -- there are plenty of ways to stay occupied while everyone arrives. As for the main event -- dont want to give anything away, but the clues and props were challenging, creative and sometimes startling. The attention to detail was just over the top. An incredibly fun evening.Is there a way to give ten stars? Dont miss this!

I could not have been more impressed by the set up, the ambience, the props, the room, and the actors! While I am no escape room expert, I am a huge fan and mildly addicted… This is my fifth escape room and by far and beyond the best that I have experienced!Madame Daphne was inviting and oh so mysterious… charming and slightly frightening all at the same time. She pulled us into her world immediately upon entering the room.…And we all willingly jumped down the rabbit hole! The addition of actores to the escape room concept is simply brilliant and both actors were marvelous and very convincing.The puzzles and clues were well thought out and nicely set up so that we never felt lost in our pursuit. The devices were definitely much more clever than any other room that I have experienced, though all in all solving the puzzle was a bit easier than I expected. We finished the story with a full 20 minutes remaining.I loved it so much that I want to do it again which makes no sense seeing as I already know how the story ends... it was just such an awesome experience!

Its basically half escape room, half theater performance art. Wonderful puzzles and special effects. If youre into escape rooms and puzzles, you wont want to miss this one!

The entire experience was immersive and fun. If youre balking because this place is a bit more expensive than other escape rooms in Houston, dont. Its entirely worth the $5-10 more.

In a word: phenomenal! We arranged a private séance with Madame Daphne for a party of 6. Ive seen my fair share of escape rooms, but never experienced immersive theater to this extent before. From the moment we stepped into her parlor, we were awed by the craftsmanship and detail of the room and all the objects inside. From beginning to end, the performance enthralled us. This is more than an escape room, this is an experience that far outshines any other room in the city. The tickets are pricier, but The Man from Beyond is so worth it! The direct actor interaction part of this escape room is only a small part of the overall experience. Dont let that scare you away from what I found was the best escape room Ive ever been to. What youll experience are innovative, challenging, and exceptionally well thought out puzzles that integrate seemlessly with the Houdini theme. No math homework cyphers here. Oh, and a pretty good story too. The production value and overall quality of this escape room are off the charts. Highly recommended.

The Man From Beyond isnt an escape room, or rather it isnt *just* an escape room. It surrounds you with a believable world full of character, texture, and experiences . You will take pride in the euphoric, Aha! moments when you solve beautifully-crafted puzzles, certainly. But what makes this show worth coming back for is the heart, and the stories of family, joy, loss and struggle. Like life, this is not a room you escape from. Its a room whose emotions follow you home.
