We did swimming on a Thursday afternoon in Feb. taking advantage of toddlers swimming free. Nice pool, only the one big pool/hot pool were open by the restaurant. They are building a new indoor pool and another outside pool areas that were not open. Nice dressing room, clean. Wait service at the pool for people who wanted drinks or food. Plenty of room, with a bench all along the edge. An island in the middle my kids loved walking around.

Love this place. food is great. pools are fun. it was $10 to get in without a membership for my entire high school career. i came home from college this weekend to be charged $20, which was unfortunate. The new pools are amazing and created so much more space! the only downside was my friend, whom i had come with, knelt down in what looked to be a diaper that had sunk to the bottom of the pool. it was a little bit of a let down.

My husband and I visited today Saturday October 10 2020. Living in Billings MT and driving to Helena for the purpose of going to this hot springs. We paid for a yearly membership which was a separate charge, and paid to get in for the day, we thought. The place is really nice the pools are great. The bar tender was nice and attentive. We spent about 3 hours soaking in the pools and left to go get lunch. When we came back they said we had to pay to get back in. This is disappointing. We frequent other places that let you pay for the whole day. We love to visit hot springs its really one of our favorite things to do together and we might come back however its not going to be very often.

The food was good and the server was extremely nice. However they no longer operate like a traditional restaurant. Your server takes your drink order and brings a ticket for that but you have to order your meal and pay for that online. Which isn’t awful except it took 45 minutes to get our food. And we were texted that it was ready about 15 minutes before it was brought out.We couldn’t get our appetizer before our entrees even though we requested it on the app and with our server. I asked two different servers for sauce for my fries and never got it, and couldn’t get a refill for my beer at all.I understand COVID has changed things but I feel like there has to be a better solution than this. The online ordering only saved our server one stop by our table to take our orders. Probably won’t go back unless they go back to traditional service.

Signing in and up is NOT user friendly. You have to be tech savvy and have a smart phone or device in order to even sign up and go. Additionally, you have to sign up as a “member” for 5$ ahead of time (on top of the $15 dollars fee to get in, even for kids). So no going there on a whim. If there are technical issues like a password issue, technology issue, glitch in the system, there isn’t another way. The front desk staff basically tells you ‘tough luck’.The people working don’t have authority to be helpful, and they just mimic what they’re told.. so you can’t be upset at them for doing their job. It’s the way the place is ran and managed. The customer is clearly not who they care about when you go there, and people can feel it. Pool is usually murky.. “ people soup” anyways. I would go there more if I was given the feeling like my service was valued, but it’s not, so I don’t. Recently went there and tried to meet other people there. That day, they couldn’t keep their hot pools hot. You would think they would provide a discount. They weren’t offering 100% of their services, so compensating for that financially would make sense, but nope. The people we were meeting ended up walking out due to this issue. I have friends from out of town who would visit the broadwater when they come to Helena but don’t because of how expensive it is with the additional $5 membership fee.

Outdoor pools could have been warmer but it was very clean...this is also one the most expensive hot springs I have been to (besides Bozeman Hot Springs). Even checking Chico, it’s $8.50 per adult and $3.50 for for kids and seniors 65+.If you have not been here before, you are also looking at an additional $5.00 fee (PER PERSON..so 3 people = $15) for COVID which I’m still not sure why exactly you have to pay it. It was basically just to sign up and be in the system as a “member”.It wasn’t crowded which was nice but expect a minimum $20 up front to soak for 1 person if you are coming in new since they implemented their new policies.

We paid $80 to soak for 2 hours. 2 adults a 3 year old and 1 year old. Biggest rip off in Helena.Kids swim free is gone.To bypass COVID laws requiring members only in fitness facilities and swimming areas, they created a 5$ per person public membership. Even babies need to pay this extra fee. Way to avoid the law and pass on your own business costs to the consumer.Only other Option is annual membership at $900 per year per person. You must be joking.

Myself personally have never been to a hot spring before so this was definitely a first. It was pretty awesome and could definitely see myself coming back. One main complaint would be the bar, you have to be fully clothed (according to the sign at the door at least) which...is bizzare that you have to put your clothes back on to order a few drinks, then take em off again to go into the pool. Maybe a lil buzzer or speaker connected at the side of the pool to place a poolside order? Fix that issue and theres no problem being a 5 star.

Au
Review №21

Lost a star due to their new outrageous prices to get in. You must pay $5 for the year for a membership then on top of that $15 PER PERSON to go soak in the water. Not to mention a regular beer thats $3 at the bar is 8-9 dollars here. I hardly think some hot water is worth the $45 for 3 people to go. Not including the 1 time membership or any drinks.

Well, first, having multiple pool temps is way cool. You can soak & relax in warmer stuff, you can swim & exercise a little in the lukewarm rec pool, and you can get that body temp up & then cool it down with the hot tub & cold plunge. Secondly, picking from the excellent beer selection & some good pub grub in the well appointed bar is a nice way to go after a healing soak & swim cycle or two. And thirdly, and so hugely appreciated, is the Broadwater allowing cancer patients to soak free for a couple of hours on Thursday afternoons! Thank you so much for that Broadwater!!

We have gone to the Broadwater many times and have not really had a single complaint. But this night was different we went January 1st the weather was not great figured a nice hot soak would be great. It is a pricey endever for us being we have six kids every time we go. We got there with our friends and the pool was not even close to the normal heat we have experienced in the past. My friends wife said she’d never waste her money again because the water was like that. We normally hang out for hours. This trip was cut short of an hour because of the water temp and the only reason we were there that long was because we used the sauna to warm up. Nothing was said to us going in and as we were leaving people were being told by the person at the desk that the pool was not very warm. It was a lot of money to throw away and not be at least comped a few passes after we had said something.

At the intersection of bar, restaurant, hot springs, and fitness center, youll find the Broadwater comfortably situated. While perhaps trying to be too many things at once, its far enough off the beaten path to make having all of those things in one place a nice convenience. The service is always friendly and its usually not too crowded. The upgrades to the pools and locker rooms are quite nice. Once the third and final soaker area is open, this place will have it made. That, and offering fitness classes in the afternoon/evening for people who work during the day. Right now theyre missing that, as well.

Not worth the $15 plus $5 membership fee its not truly a hot spring. Its a big glorified chemically filled hot tub. Checked there website and it mentioned nothing about raising prices and charging a membership fee. We drove over 130 miles one way to discover.Response from the owner 2 hours ago Shane, many many many many hot springs in our state as well as in the country are chemically treated hot springs. The membership requirements and current pricing are reflected in at least three different locations on our web site and on our Facebook page. Memberships and face masks are a state mandated requirement. We understand you were upset about having to wear a mask when in the facility (but not in the pools). Your post reflects that you have visited our facility in the past. Hopefully you will find your way back to us again. Stay safe.Amanda HamellYour website was just updated as of this morning. I mentioned nothing about wearing my mask that is not why I am disgruntled. What is the mineral compensation of the water. How do you heat your water, what temperature does water come out of the ground.

The pool outside is nice, but they need to up their safety game. At night there are ZERO lights by the stairs, so you cant see the stairs going into the dark pool, the doors going out to the pool area are heavy and close heavy and fast (injured walking inside), there is a drain at the bottom of the outdoor pool that sticks out high enough to stub your toe. The thing that took me by surprise at Broadwater Hot Springs was the quality of the food. I had one of the best burgers I have ever had there, and the pretzel appetizers were amazing! However, be aware that they charge a pool service fee! I was not notified that there would be an added charge for pool side service and had ordered a couple drinks. When I went to pay my tab, there was an $8 charge for the waitress to bring my drink 10 feet from the bar to the pool! Outrageous!I also wish the pool were a bit bigger. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT host an event at the Broadwater Hot Springs in Helena MT.I booked the Broadwater’s event room in January 2019 for my wedding in May 2019. At first it seemed like a steal of a deal- we were promised 3 rooms for the price of $500 with cancellation UP TO 30 days before the wedding. Aaron Charlton promised a room for our caterer, all linens provided, and a set up/tear down team for the ceremony and reception. One month before the wedding neither Aaron or his boss Billie were returning phone calls or emails. They did not give me a contract and after DRIVING to the Broadwater was I able to speak with Billie about the venue. It was at that point when I found out theyA. DID NOT EVEN HAVE MY EVENT ON THEIR CALENDAR.B. My $500 was NON REFUNDABLE after 60 days before the wedding.C. NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING was included. No table linens, no set up team AND my caterers space was $1000 WHEN I WAS TOLD IT WAS INCLUDED AT NO COST.D. Again, NO CONTRACT.There is a level of trust and respect you have when working with a wedding venue. The Broadwater Hot Springs is truly a disgrace to this town and should never be considered as a “hang out” spot or venue of any kind. I was refunded my money due to the lack of contract but that was after they told me they didn’t want my business anymore.I happily took my money and my business elsewhere. I suggest you do the same.

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. Extremely poor service. We asked for water, and were handed a pitcher to pour ourselves into a stack of plastic cups... enough water to not even fill all of the cups halfway. The server didnt check back a single time- so we had to go up and ask for drinks from someone else. When she brought our food, she said she would bring more water, and the sour cream she forgot with the nachos, and we never saw her again except to drop the check. The portion sizes were VERY small, yet the pricing was high. Sandwiches come on slider sized buns, with mini portion of fries. The $12 nachos have no meat on them, almost no cheese, and almost none of the other listed toppings (plus the server doesnt bring the sides that are promised with it).Waitstaff stands in a group talking by the bar, rather than checking on customers.Pools are under construction, and the lighting was flickering in & out, not properly functioning. They also will not supple towels, claiming that their washers are not working. The tile in the locker room is extremely slick as you are exiting the doors to the pool (Be Careful!) watched several people slip and almost fall.Trashes were over-flowing.Our ticket total was $106 for just the food, to have to beg for water, cups, silverware... not to mention we watched a server bring the wrong food to the table next to us, after she stood over said food talking to another table for a good 3 min.I LOVE food and experiences, and this is all-around poorly maintained, managed, and staffed- and the food & drinks are way overpriced for the lack of quality and service provided. This was the worst restaurant experience i have ever had, and i eat out a Lot.Updating information for the owner: food delivery took 1 1/2 hrs from sit down, to food delivery, for 3 kids mac and cheese, two plates of tacos, 1 plat of nachos, 1 plate of chicken strips, and 1 pulled pork sandwich. This was Saturday, Jan 11th 2020 at 5:30pm.Owners lack of apology and “blaming” the customer for poor customer service based on information is also a thorough indicative EARNED 1 star review, as i see the single star reviews increasing, with many similar complaints in the same areas. Owner did not address lighting issues or slipping hazards, or excuses of broken washing machines. Owner has information needed to improve services provided, yet fails to do so, using the excuse that another means of contact were not made. Also, i did inform TWO separate workers standing st the bar that our server was struggling, and asked if we could please get drinks. They put in the order, and then continued standing there chatting while not assisting their co-worker.
