Black Sandy is well kept and enjoyable when not overly crowded. Walking across Hauser Dam is always kinda cool. Finally of course White Sandy is just next door and has quite a bit of room as well and both provide boating access to the lake**

Black Sandy is awesome. Theres a rope swing and some other type swing. Then theres White Sandy right up the road. Perfect for on the lake activities and camping!

Bittersweet. Great water for boating and nice docks and clean campground. However, very much a party site. Loud music until late late at night played. The day-use only spots were being used well into the night and early morning with music and cursing. Not family friendly for tent sites.

Beautiful setting, well kept and great access to boating and town if needed.Only 4 stars because of parking for trailer. Extremely packed camping with only enough room for a slideout and awning width. We didnt have a fire ring for our camping space. When booking be advised of double sites, one will be left side for awning and the next, right side.

Great site, beautiful area. Minus 1 star for super small camp sites, but they dont have much land to work with. We will be back for sure

This isnt a bad place...its clean and enjoyable enough. Its just SUPER crowded and not my cup of tea. Also, if youre visiting from out of state there is an $8.00 fee to park your vehicle there just FYI

One of the most beautiful, peaceful places on earth. We only planned to stay one nite but extended for another nite because it was so peacefully and relaxing here.

Very nice areas, usually less crowded than Canyon Ferry. Make sure you stock up before you go, there arent any stores close by. Some nice hikes and chances to see some wildlife.

It was a beautiful place. Love the view and boat dock.

The first few spots are really nice, grass and on the lake. Spots down further are congested with the fire pit and table on the opposite side from where you exit the camper. The hornets are horrible.

Very nice due to being right on the water and boat slips available right in front of your campsite. However your packed in like sardines, so not my type of camping. Beautiful and clean so great for many people.

Not private sites but lovely spots right on the lake so we didnt mind. Watch the fish jumping or go kayaking. No showers so fill up with water if staying a while. Extremely clean bathrooms and only power at the sites. Would stay again for a few days. Nice and close to Helena and easy to get to. It was quiet and well looked after.

Close to helena, well kept but busy most of the time. All kinds of camping, close to a convenience store. State owned therefore inexpensive, and family friendly.

Nice location. Only 6 tent sites, mostly setup for RV. Clean area. Staff maintains it well. At the time not very good fishing didnt catch anything from shore. Might want to take a boat. Lots of water craft on the lake.

Great for boating and if you have an RV. Although Im not sure about the latter because they were so close to each other (parallel parked) that unless theyre your relatives you wont have any privacy, peace or quiet time. The park is not tent friendly, we were surrounded by RVs.

Wonderful site and great staff but as of 8-7-18 the water (at least by the shore) is full of algae and swimming is not recommended. Same for White Sandy beach area.

Ca
Review №46

: great views; every site is right on the water so you can watch boats all day; dock is wide, ramp is in the middle of the campground; small swimming area; bathrooms are well-maintained; a tree between every site gives a bit of shade.: the trees are little and its like one big gravel parking lot; sites are cheek by jowl so you can hear every word your neighbour says; its hot because the breeze doesnt come off the lake in this direction.
