Nice clean park with a fence around it where the kids play. I also like that the gates have locks on them so they cant just walk out.

Well maintained,clean,beautiful setting,peaceful. Enjoyed watching young adults playing ball,swinging,while we and others picnic. Would be a fabulous suggestion more picnic tables and benches. Thank you for a beautiful park you share with all.

The park is beautiful and always well maintained. Theres a playground, a small walking trail equipped with doggie bags, and a few places to sit. Great place for Pokémon Go!

I love this PARK, and heres the secret that I learned about one of the Statues; well both and its through iFOR, LLC DIALOGUE-IN. Its where Im the Creator, Founder and Owner. The movie night under the stars was great. The Rotary club served some good food and everyone was well mannered and kept the area very clean.

Love this park but a bathroom would make it even better! There is a large field, a sidewalk around the whole park, a gazebo, a few picnic tables and benches, and the kids playground area is all fenced in. The trees are beautiful giving lots of shade. The closest bathroom is PJs Coffee... just gives us an excuse to get a coffee!

Clean, friendly, safe, right in the heart of Downtown Hammond. From the small playground to the war memorial to the gazeebo and benches. Its not a terribly fancy or big park, but its got heart and is fine for a picnic or play. I like it.

Been coming here since I was 4 with my mom! This place holds so many memories from learning to ride a bike, to homecoming pictures, the hill used to be awesome but now the giant field is a great place to throw the football and just hangout!

Great place for playdates and moms can stroll to PJs down the block for a pick-me-up. I do wish the seats were protected from the sun as they are too hot to sit on.

Shady and well maintained for the most part. Water fountain doesnt work which isnt ideal in hotter months so plan ahead and bring water/ drink.Parking on one side can get difficult, often you have difficulty seeing to back out.There can be some aggressive kids there sometimes but for the most part its the same people regularly.We really enjoy the swinging benches.

It was peaceful. Our daughter wasnt walking at the time, but we enjoyed taking pictures of the school kids creations. We actually ended up walking most of downtown that day too. It has a little playground there as well that we plan on taking her back when she gets more walking time under her belt lol. This is a WONDERFUL PLACE to take pictures especially around Holidays

Open and clean, full square block with enclosed playground and a gazebo. Free parking, Lots of shaded seating and picnic tables. No bathrooms but surrounded by local restaurants and shopping. Safe at night.

There are no bathrooms or pavilions here as of 2017. The water fountains work sometimes. The playground is fenced and is non-smoking grounds. Oak trees are bountiful here. Outside play ground area is pet and dog friendly. A memorial of Mr. Cate is erected in this park. An unleveled, brick sidewalk surrounds the block. A concreted, ceiled utopia is at this location surrounded by a beautiful flower garden (Hammond Rotary Club & Lions Club). Very nice green space in the middle of town surrounded by oak trees and residential homes. There are a variety of events hosted in this square park from the outdoor Christmas movie shown on an inflatable screen to community Easter Egg hunts and many more in between.If you have children, there is a fence enclosed playground in one corner of Cate Sqare. Within this confinement children can play on swings, monkeybars, and slides while parents can sit on the provided benches and swings under sprawling oaks. The only drawback to this area are the slides. They are made of steel and can become very hot for little ones in our blazing Louisiana sun...use caution!

Very nice park that you can bring your dogs or kids to.

They have added a lot of benches and statutes and theres a small playground for your younger children. On Saturdays they have a farmers market for fresh produce. Go early!!

Small, but charming. Unfortunately the people who live across the street have a tendency of bringing their dogs over and not picking up after them, but it usually isnt that bad.
