I love this museum. This was my 2nd visit. I tookmy oldest Grandson a few years ago. This kid was not as blown away by all the things black people had invented, but he did gather information and pictures for a school project, as the older grandson. He spent an 11/2 hrs in just those 2 rooms. This middle kid was all about the slave era all the way up to the 60s. The original KKK clothes really got to both of us, so hard to look at. Wish there had been a warning! But its TRUE history. Ill bring my youngest in a couple of years. I think every 6th grader in La. Should be able to see this wonder !

Place holds a special place with me, my parents and close family members were pioneers in establishing this (Gem) Museum.
