We had a perfect day at the museum. Situated just next to the lake at City Park, the view is lovely. The museum offers free admission and free parking so it wont break the family budget. Exhibits range from paintings by the Old Masters to Tiffany glass, Modernism and mixed media pieces created by African-American artists. Today I really enjoyed the exhibit of childrens book illustrations by Eric Rohmann - Author & Illustrator who created the cover art for the book Golden Compass. Thank you to all the volunteers and members who make this museum possible for the rest of us.

Nice collection, and varied. Some pieces of significance for sure. A real surprise for a local setting. Worth the trip and admission is free!

Best hidden gem of Hagerstowns City Park. Beautiful exhibits. The museum does a lot for local schools and a lot to help the arts. Highly recommend you visit the museum

A wide variety of exhibits to see they did advise in 3 of the halls no photographs which is ok for me the exhibits go around the atrium so you come back to the entrance way.Lots of parking and it’s a very easy museum to go around the setting is also very nice staff polite and professional.

Art is very special. We are very thankful to live locally to Washington County Museum of art. The great exhibits excite the imagination. Although you must be respectful to the art, the museum is wonderful for kids and adults alike. We love it.

My wife went in to pick up artwork from a show in or around January. The original art pickup would have been in March or April. But along came the coronavirus. Nothing more needs to be said except the Museum is not open to the public yet. We walked around the park on a beautiful day and then had lunch outside at Schmankerl Stube. Nice change of pace for us.

Very nice relaxing museum in a beautiful park setting. The museum is fairly small. You can walk through all of it in about 45 minutes.

This is a cute art museum in the middle of a huge park. Most of the time stuff isnt moved around, but the museum has a room that changes almost monthly, which can range in theme from kids artwork to an exhibit entirely filled with abstract. Its a nice place and because its in a park, you can also take a walk there.

I was amazed at how much beauty is packed into this building. And entrance is free! Certainly stop in and take in the sites!

A very nice small museum collection. They have a little bit of everything. I went there during the Christmas tee lighting, they had a wonderful scavenger hunt. Super friendly staff. Will come back again.

Was actually impressed with the selection of art.. Was expecting old paintings of bridges and portraits of people Ive never heard of but instead I found a lot of newer contemporary and abstract items Id like to find prints of.. Even if youre not a huge fan of art Im sure they have items to impress!!

Surprisingly cool and interesting collections, as well as walking trails around the grounds and ponds. The swans and geese are friendly but aggressive!

This a very high quality museum. The exhibits were fantastic. We took a group of 4th and 5th grade students there and the museum staff couldnt have been more knowledgeable and hospitable. The staff presentations kept our students engaged. It was a wonderful experience.

If I hadnt been here many times before I might not return. Who closes on Good Friday when the kids are off school and open on Easter when families are busy? Renovations on main gallery area with no further explanation. And Durer exhibit not curated well. Really enjoyed the county wide school childrens art work and as usual bought from the gift shop. Hopefully next time its better put together

This is an amazing museum for such a small town! They have a breathtaking collection, ranging from historic oil paintings to modern abstract pieces. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.

Very beautiful museum with a beautiful park surrounding it. Its a very small museum with a small collection but it had wonderful, unique works from well known artists. They also have contemporary works from local artists! The staff was really nice and I love that they let security sit down. We really enjoyed ourselves and will visit again! Plus the museum is free which is a bonus.

My son and I recently visited and I was so pleased. There are many wonderful pieces to view. I also like the variety. The museum itself is the perfect size because it is just large enough to have a nice collection, but is not so big that if your company is not an art fan, they dont get bored. Its in the park which is a great location. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

Always a beautiful museum to just take a stroll through when you are at the park. Very relaxing and on a hot day it’s a good time to cool off.

For a free small town museum this place is incredible. Great mixture of paintings, sculpture and even old furniture from America, Europe and the far east. With works from the 1400s all the way to the present day you truly get to experience a wide range of art here. I love visiting this place and the with the exhibits being updated often its always a fresh experience. One of the few things Hagerstown has done a great job on.

Such beautiful collections, here. Including one of my favorite Rockwell pieces. An underrated gem in this city. Always a pleasure visiting.

Love to go sometimes with the kids. The museum is little but has nice paintings and outside theres a park. So you can go and walk around after the visit to the museum. Very nice.

Kids love coming to the museum when they have the Washington County Public schools galleries for elementary.

Beautiful art work. Friendly security guards. Had a scavenger hunt for the kids. One of the pieces in the hunt had female partial nudity, maybe pick a different work for the kids hunt.

This is a fine Museum with lots of exhibits both paintings and other artworks which are rotated and changed frequently. It is also a good place to cool off after a long walk in City Park.

For a small town this art gallery is pretty nice. I will admit that its kind of small, nothing like MoMA but the artwork is inspiring and beautiful.

I have to go here for a college project and this place is really neat, i love it! It tells me all I need to know and it wraps up my chapters all in one muesum!
