I dont know enough about art supplies to know about pricing but the store is pretty easy to navigate and the store associates are polite and helpful.

Outstanding work and service, my military medals were lost and I had to order replacements and I gave them to Howards, they helped me design my medal frame. When I saw it for the first time, I was speechless because it greatly exceeded all my expectations. Thank you Howards Art Supplies & Frames.

I was surprised by the inventory at this place! Way more options than typical craft stores in terms of acrylic and oil paint brands. So many drawing supplies. And the cutest cat ever. And they do framing.

When youre looking for advice on a project, or need a framing job done right, you want to deal with someone who truly knows the trade. The folks at Howards are extremely knowledgeable and talented. Theyre honest and put a lot of time and effort into giving their customers the best products and experiences possible. Thats something you just dont get at big chain stores. If nothing else, you must go in to visit the adorable shop doggos!

Went for the Ukrainian egg class. Had a good time. Instructor was knowledgeable on subject. Had a nice classroom but was hard to maneuver around the tables. Visited the restroom and it was nice and clean. Class was reasonable price. Most classes are so expensive I stay away this class was doable.

Great customer service! I was surprised that they carried the silver brush line, which i absolutely love, so i had to pick up a few. The prices were much better than amazon for the few I grabbed, so do keep that in mind! They also had the Daniel Smith watercolors I was looking for. It was a fantastic experience and Ill definitely be back soon.

Howards has open stock of a lot of different pastels, markers, and pencils. Theres great variety for all kinds of visual arts, and also harder to find drafting tools.

The people there are wonderful and very helpful. I asked them questions about how to do things I knew nothing about and left there feeling confident that I could! Definitely recommend.

Recently signed up for the Acrylic Painting class offered at Howards through the week and it has been such a great find to me! After searching for an art class like this for years, it has been a great thing for me to participate in. While Ill have to take a break from this class for the next session, I do hope to come back!Prices at Howards have been comparable to prices Ive seen at other art stores as well, and Ive even seen some unique new supplies.

One of the last real art supply stores in Western Maryland. Their selection is unparalleled, the staff is helpful, and there are usually a few lazy dogs hanging out under a table. Its great.Weve purchased a whole lot of art supplies here over the years, and have also had a number of things framed by them. The work is always just right.Treat yourself to what an art store should be like--check them out!

You cant put a price on quality service. Framing service from big box stores might save you $5 here and there, but when it starts to come apart on you a month later, youll be over to see Andrew at Howards. If you want it done right, spend the extra couple dollars for a framing job that you can hand down to your childrens children.When I walk into a small business, I dont expect the prices to match Amazons. I expect to pay a dollar or two more and have a human being there that I can pick their brain. Someone who does this for a living and has the experience and product knowledge that Im lacking. A lot of times that knowledge and expertise saves me money! Ill go in looking for one thing, and end up leaving with something else entirely that better suited my needs for less!

I work at Howards now but, before I started, I got all my art supplies there. I took classes when I was younger, and I compared their prices for the supply list to Michaels and they were about the same. Some stuff at Michaels was more and some stuff at Howards was more, but it all evened out in the end. Plus Howards has 10 times the selection. I love working here, it is such a creativity inducing atmosphere. Everyone is so amazed by the amount of supplies this small locally owned business has. We also do some pretty awesome framing, if I do say so myself.
