This is a nice park for families to enjoy. The playground is designed for older children 5 and up. There are several picnic spots with tables available. The trails were not paved where we started and not accessible for people in wheelchairs. This park is pretty big, so there could be other parts that are paved. There are fire pits available to use as well.

Had a great time walking around this park. lots of parking, clean and clear trails, fields to play sports in, long walks available. We walked about 5 mi round trip and there was plenty more walking that we didnt get to. lots of river views and places to get close to the water. dog friendly! bathrooms on site. Both paved and unpaved trails (only unpaved trough the woods). The unpaved trails were mostly smooth and flat with few roots growing in them so it was an easy walk. Off the trails we walked through the woods a bit and found a few child sized forts I the woods! BE CAREFUL if it has just rained as the mud gets extremely slippery by the riverbanks, I fell in

The parks that are part of the Columbus Metro Park system continue to be amazing places to take your kids for outdoor activities. Scioto Grove along the river is awesome. Easy hiking trails throughout the park but the signage could improve a little bit. Thought I was on the REI river trail but in reality I was just making my own trail. I ended up climbing up the side of the hill to find the true trail. Noticed three other families get confused and took the wrong path while trying to get to the Rope Bridge. The rope triangle playground is fun for all our ages. My daughter climbed up six or seven times and would have climbed it more if we didn’t have to leave. The playground is even strong enough for a grown adult to climb up.Despite the minor issues with the trail signage this park doesn’t disappoint and lives up to the high level of quality that Columbus Metro Parks produces.

We had our wedding at the lodge this summer & the power to our DJ’s outlet went out during our reception. We went with it, understanding that things happen. Everything was back up & running after she reset elsewhere in the venue after about 20 minutes & then the power to entire building goes out. No AC, no running water in the restrooms, no lighting (and no DJ, again) for 45 minutes! I’m 100% dissatisfied at this point as this is my wedding day & I’ve paid a good amount of money to have my event here & there’s no backup generator or fixing the issue quickly. Guests left because of the heat. No one could give us an explanation & our entire wedding timeline was shifted due to this. Being an ethical person I understand that not everything is about me & that things happen but I’m baffled at the fact that no one reached out to my husband or myself regarding how this situation really threw off our day, our rental & the guest we invited. Our other vendors worked well given the situation here so I’m truly upset that our venue selection has not chosen to make things right with us.I called the metro park office multiple times to discuss this matter, left messages & have never received a call back, an apology or acknowledgement for what happened during our time.We have always been avid Scioto Grove park goers which is why we chose this beautiful venue for our wedding. To say that I’m disappointed with the outcome, is saying the least.

Disc Golf Review ONLY :This course has very steep trails USE CAUTION.Not for really new players. Allot of the wooded areas are full of poison ivy and have very little room for error. The next couple are disc eating water holes. The trail is VERY steep in places and the wooded cut trails have stumps a couple inches tall. It does flatten out into a desert area with old junked car frames, rusty 55 gallon drums and general debris like bricks, wire and trash. The pathways between some of the holes at the end are swamps with makeshift stick bridges and pallets to break through. Please do your part and throw some sticks on these areas when you go by :) . One hole is really close to private property so keep it straight or loose one. There are some good lines you could really smash with accuracy and turns. If your eager with anticipation for the above average difficulty rating and strenuous terrain stop reading internet words and get out there! Wear STURDY footwear even hiking shoes or boots and remember your Technu wash. Happy Flying!

An excellent new Metro Park. Its large and variety of scenery has started to attract some photographers doing family photography. There is a nice hike along the Scioto River. I hope they open up a spot to make it easier to get a nice view along the river without having to go through so many trees. You can also backpack in designated camping sites in this park. There is also a Drone Flight area here too. Plus there is an archery range and a 3-D archery course. I always like going to this Metro Park.

This place is big and beautiful. My daughter saw a deer close up while driving in, she loved that. The playground is different, its all net that you climb up to slides. One side is small and one side is big, so I keep my little ones on the small side. My kids fav is the swing though. Its like a big tire that they both can swing on at same time. We love to go fishing, and there are multiple ponds to try. Weve only done one with a deck that is really nice cuz its closest to the vehicles. There was a lot of algea on the water so its not very clear, but there are LOTS of fish. And they are BIG. Ive caught a couple different kinds of bass and blue gills, and a huge cat fish got away from us. A friend caught a big frog, and my bf caught a 50 pound snapping turtle that we couldnt even pull out of the water. Dont get in the water. Lol. We also saw a family of beavers. The wildlife is awesome. It has a patio area with shade to one side with picnic tables. And you can go all the way around the lake and fish. Other than the water not being clear cuz of moss, its great. I will go back to hopefully catch a big one soon. I just hope someone treats the water.

The 3-D archery course took a hard hit with the rain this week. Flooded and muddy. Heres to hoping it dries out. Also, beware that some of the targets badly need new inserts and you can get passthrough by shooting for centers. Otherwise its a fun setup. Bring marker tape if youre range shooting as the stops are pretty badly shot up and faded with no real shooting points unless someone elses tape is still on a bag.

Just played the newly opened Disc Golf course. I liked the design, but the course looks to be unfinished. There are many steep slopes in the terrain that need steps installed to be safe for the general public, right now there are ropes in place on 2 holes to help you get up and down the slopes. If you have any problems with your knees / legs, I would recommend waiting to play the course until steps are installed on the slopes. The ground is also very bumpy and has many rocks in some places, so even if your in good shape - you should wear boots that protect your ankles.Good tee signs, but pole holes do not have numbers on them.I couldnt find hole 18.There is also no restrooms, trash cans or practice basket by the course at this time.

Great for Walking, Running, Bikes, Scooter, Rolloerbladed.-One thing that is especially cool about this park is that most of the paths here are paved and would make a perfect place for taking someone on a walk who is bound to a wheelchair, which is really rare.(something to keep in mind)-Fishing holes,-Play Grounds for kids,-Walk paths along the rivers edge,-Lots of little Picnic places. And lastly,-The times Ive been there, its always been patrolled well by a Park Ranger, making more rounds as darkness falls. Which makes it feel very safe for someone who is there alone or leaving your car to take a walk. Thanks for taking the time to read my thought,-God Bless-

Im so disappointed about this park. I was very excited by the idea of having a park so close but its not what we were expecting. Definitely not a fan of the playground at all and neither were other parents that was there with their kids. The nature part of the park is great, the trails, overlooks, pond, but the rest not so much. The playground definitely isnt for small children, its made completely out of rope with two slides. Not very many kids can play at the same time and its dangerous for young kids. We definitely thought there would be some great play areaS, not just one not so great area. The picnic areas arent anything to brag about either. We thought now well have a park close to do birthday parties there now, we were wrong. Unlike other parks, this park has a couple very small shelter houses with very little seating. The other picnic areas near the playground is one table per grill. You better be able to fit all of your food and family at that one small table. Hopefully they arent done and will be adding a better play area and better seating, well see.

Visited this park for a Saturday night camping get away. I called ahead to reserve the site. The ranger met up with us when we got here and explained the rules of the camp. We parked at the north canoe access point and walked about a 1/2 mile to our site. Our site was #1 so it was the closest one. When we got to the site they had cut fire wood stacked and covered. There where two wood benches and a fire ring. The site allows 2 tents to stay. There are raised platforms for the tents which made for a level sleeping ground. Enjoy!
