***You must order tickets online, do not think you can get in by showing up to buy tickets, order a day in advance***. The entire zoo takes about 40 minutes to walk through and viewing is even more limited because of construction. The available exhibits are pretty good but not huge like the asheboro zoo. The price is about half of what you would pay at the larger zoo for about 1/3 of the exhibits. Definitely patronize and donate to support conservation but in terms of entertainment asheboro is a better value.

This is a nice zoo. They have an interesting program where people can pay a quarter to put a token into one of four or five boxes labeled with an endangered animal (I cant remember how many boxes,) and I believe how it works is that for every token in each box, they donate a quarter to help support the protection of said endangered animals, (check my facts if I am wrong.) They take a good amount of care of the animals, and the place has many kid-friendly activities, including three different playgrounds (two of which are covered) for your children, also having multiple time dependent activities like classes on zoology and biology. The reptile/invertebrate house is amazing. Overall, 10/10

So today I went to the zoo here in Greenville.I have always loved this zoo and today was no exception.Disclaimer: the Lions are off exhibit though I will not tell you why, and they are building new enclosures for the lemurs so you wont get to see them. One of the saddest things is the lone red panda (the other either wasnt out or has passed on) give them some love. I also loved the monument to Joy the elephant one of the greatest things about the zoo...Also I am sorry to the little girl who got a first hand experience on how Vulture babies are made

Although small, but a quaint zoo in the middle of Greenville. Despite running into a problem involving purchasing tickets for the wrong day/week, which was only because of website issues, they went the extra mile to allow us to take vacant membership reservations for that day, and only 15 min after the time we initially wanted. Unfortunately I do not recall the 2 individuals that helped me and my girlfriend, but I thank them greatly nonetheless. All the animal exhibits are adorable and interesting, and the price for tickets, even for adults, are very affordable and worth the value. I highly recommend this zoo for the amazing service and the attractive, yet small facility.

Nice small zoo. If your in town and wanna see it its worth the nominal charge. They dont mention in their website, but because if construction some of the animals are not able to be seen. They should really post placards before you walk down to see the alligators that are not there till spring. And some others. They also dont mention (or I didnt see) you are required to purchase your tickets online before you get to the ticket window - show them the barcode and you get in. They will not sell you tickets at the gate (probably covid related).

Its a small zoo but definitely worth the visit. Lovely park grounds surrounding and a great covered picnic area. Our highlight was the giraffe family (dad, mom, son) but dad was the ham of the group totally into the people visiting them! All the exhibits were in top shape, the animals were extremely healthy looking and the staff did a wonderful job gearing up the zoo with Halloween decor for the kids. We will visit again in the future!

We attended Bo at the Zoo. It was very clean and organized. They only took reservations for the times available. Number of guests were limited and face masks required. Local businesses were giving out candy at many locations, while you walked the trail. It was a good experience. One suggestion, have more costumed people on the trail.

We went for the first time during Boo in the Zoo. The staff was incredibly kind and efficient. They have everything soreaf out nicely. However, I do feel there should have been more trick-or- treat tables for the kiddos. The zoo itself is very small, but there are some great animals here. There is a lot of construction going on right now though. However, considering the times of Covid-19, I would still stay this is a great option to maintain social distancing. Kids can stay involved with learning while seeing animals. It is a good option to get out of the house. Masks are required for kids over 2.

Web site has you select a time of visit. We selected 1pm. First off, hand sanitizer stations are empty, so bring your own. Secondly, we were notified at 230 that the zoo was closing for an event. The website didnt indicate they were closing, nor did the staff tell us when we entered. A real bummer for this Grandma trying to entertain out of state guests on a beautiful day.

The family was very excited to visit the Greenville Zoo during our vacation in SC. In fact, the most facinating animals at Greenville Zoo were the flamingos and giraffe. Absolutely perfect zoo in downtown Greenville. Really nice place to spend time with some amazing animals and educating yourself and your family. Just to see the animals I would suggest at least an hour and a half. We received a membership to the zoo for Christmas, and I have been thoroughly impressed! My toddlers have a great time, and there are little perches at almost every exhibit where they can climb up and see the animals, which means I don’t have to hoist them up over and over and over again. Lugging my two around in a double stroller, up those hills, is a sufficient work out!

Tried to visit the Zoo on Sunday at 4 pm, which was the only time I could make it, due to work schedule. My friend & his 8 year old son was visiting from West Virginia & have never been to a zoo. I have visited the Greenville Zoo 6 times in the past 4 years & have always purchased my ticket at the main gate. We drove from Fountain Inn to Greenville & upon arrival at themain gate the young lady informed us that tickets had to be reserved online & the latest time to reserve a ticket was 3:30! I ask her if there was anyway we could purchase tickets since we were already there & was told no, needless to say it was devastating news for the 8 year old who had been excited all week & especially expecting to have his dream fulfilled that afternoon, instead we were turned away & broken hearted.

We came from Florida to visit the Greenville Zoo for the first time since the last time we came back in 2013. A lot has changed, many of the exhibits were closed off. I’m not sure weather they were closed for good or maybe construction or just off limits due to the pandemic.I do think that the zoo should update their website and be upfront about which exhibits are available to the public for visitation. Google says that it’s about an hour and a half walk around the park, but because of the limited exhibits the walk around the zoo was maybe about 30 minutes for my family along with stopping and taking pictures along the way. They had a mini children’s play park, along with a picnic area for family’s to take a break to eat or just relax. The ticket prices are also pretty reasonable, but you must purchase tickets online. At the entrance of the park after the ticket booth, social distancing markers were provided on the pathways to remind the public which I thought was very good. Overall it was a pretty fun experience and they did well even with the pandemic going on. Still enjoyed! Would definitely visit again once all of the exhibits are open and even more animals are available for visitors!

Overall, the zoo was enjoyable. I was a little perturbed with everything that was closed, although I understand why. More concerning was that things seemed to be a mess. There was garbage on the ground and numerous areas that looked like they just needed some attention. The staff was very nice, which was good. There was very little in the way of education due to the pandemic. I hope to enjoy it more when we return after things are back to normal

Came to Greenville Zoo from Columbia (we usually go to riverbanks zoo but wanted to venture out) the prices for the tickets were great, but the zoo itself is not very big at all, took us maybe an hour to get through the whole thing. We didn’t get to see the orangutan, or the alligator but we did see the baby leopards and baby giraffe. There was so much construction going on that it was pretty distracting and it seemed like a lot of enclosures were closed all together. They also didn’t have any sort of aquarium and a lot of the enclosures looked like they needed some major TLC!! I am glad we went and had some family time but will probably not be returning.

This is a great little zoo! You’d be surprised by the selection of animals. Younger kids do really well here, because the zoo isn’t so enormous that they don’t last the entire time. Dont let the quaintness of this little Zoo fool you! There are lions that await.... This is the perfect zoo for little ones 8 & under. There are many attempts to break new ground within the zoo. It seems the funding of the town zoo just is not allowing for more growth. Incorporating the zoo into the local amenities seems to be a great idea! I believe what the locals say of it would be great to bring more to the area to encourage education while engulfing children within different cultures adding animals to the mix.Best thing to do is buy a ticket & see for yourselves - its a self guided tour. Id call it more of a scavenger hunt. Go have fun in the sun. Let the kiddos roam. No need to worry. There is a great kid park to play of afterwards.
