Beautiful little park! Took my little Boston Terrier puppy for her first park walk there this morning. Well-groomed, and clean, especially considering this pandemic season!

A fantastic family-friendly spot with beautiful gardens & a touch of Thornapple River history thrown in. This location was previously a residence & Leslie E. Tassel generously provided this space for the community.Restrooms and covered picnic spots make this place ideal for parties. There is also a fire pit ring down by the water. There is a dam on the river here; you can occasionally watch as they raise & lower the stops for the water. There are lovely bronze sculptures: one of children playing ring around the rosy, and one of a grandpa telling his grandson the size of a fish.Sculptural water display acts as a splash pad for the kids! They love it!There are some great fishing spots here.TIP—> bring lightweight plastic cups for the kids to set on top of the water spouts in the ground. They love to watch them shoot up into the air!TIP—> walk across the street to enjoy tasty treats at the local coffee & ice cream spots!

This is a lovely tiny park. Limiited parking. No playground. There is a small splash pad (not operating due to Covid19). There is a small picnic pavilion, a few benches and individual picnic tables. Handicap accessible in most areas. Cascade Dam is at the site as well as open river access, recommend staying with children at all times. Good place to begin kayaking.

I have visited this park several dozen times over lunch to play Pokemon Go. There are 6 Pokestops, 2 gyms, and a nest, so its one of the better spots Ive found. Theres a loop you can take to hit all of the stops easily, or benches where you can get 3 without moving.Besides the Pokemon Go opportunity, its a great waterside park. You can watch the dam flow and every day its fun to see how high or low the water is after a big rain or snow

Lovely park. Peaceful and beautiful. Plenty of seats & tables. Access to the river if you want to fish or soak your feet. Variety of trees, shrubs & flowers to enjoy. Like being in a beautiful garden along the Thornapple river. The bridge & dam are visible from most places in the park. Its clean and accessible. Water spouts for everyone to enjoy. Pet friendly with bags & receptacles. My wife and I visit often. It is so special to us we got married in this park.

Beautiful, nice little park, right along the river. Never boring with different decorative landscaped areas. This is a small park with limited parking and certainly worth checking out. Theres a nice little dock, large rock area you can stand on to be closer to the water, the damn up the hill, steps to make it easier climbing up the hill, a water fountain play area for the summer, and people fishing along the river. Theres a giant deck area, with picnic tables, that overlook the river.

Beautiful little park just outside of downtown Cascade (if you consider Cascade to have a downtown). There are a few spots where you can put in kayaks and putz around the river, and during the season you can almost always find a few fishermen by the dam.The park itself has nice amenities too, with water fountains and plenty of benches. There is also a covered gazebo that can be rented out by the day located near the center of the park with river views.

One of my favorite places! Fishing, photo ops, splash pad, clean bathrooms, what else can u ask for. The dam is a sight to see. You can launch canoes on either side of the dam and there is all kinds of river aquatic animals. Children love the statues. Overall very fun, a couple minutes away from two local ice creameries. Cheap way to entertain young children. Have fun!

Not far from the airport, was looking for a place to relax and take in nature. Found this park a perfect place to sit, walk, and relax. The sound of running water was very delightful. Did notice some fishermen trying their luck and families sitting on the benches. This is a perfect place to watch a Michigan sunset.

We LOVE going on hot days. The kids run in the open fountain (button to make it go is just to the west of the main sidewalk) and play around the beautiful sculpture of children playing ring around the rosies. Afterward we usually visit the dock trail and watch for ducks and fish on the river and look at the other sculptures. Only drawback is that the bathrooms are inn the other side of the park... visit BEFORE the kiddos are involved in the fountain!

This is one of the most charming parks I have ever been to. Filled with statues, river walks, fishing overlooks, and best of all an interactive magic fountain the Leslie E. Tassell Park has something for everyone. Kids 7 and under will have a blast at the interactive fountain while parents will enjoy the tranquility of sunshine peaking through the trees as they walk along the Thornapple River. Highly recommended for a hot summers day or a crisp autumn walk with the family.

This seems like a nice park. They have a pavilion and bonfire pit that can be reserved. I appreciate that their bathrooms work and have doors (some park bathrooms dont!) A friend and I like to kayak here, putting our boats in at the top of the dam at the portage area. Its only a small little hill to drag them up, then slide them down the wooden stairs.
