Looking for a theatre with regular showcases & community-building events? Well, then look no further! The Wealthy Theatre is a place to be!We were here last year for the Thriller! Chiller! Film Festival! What a great time! It was local, independent film-making at its best! We met industry folks & film enthusiasts, watched thriller shorts & suspense features all day long! We bought tickets online which was super easy and parked in the small lot behind the theatre.I loved their Halloween-themed lobby decor & was pleasantly surprised by their movie snacks & adult drink options! A Midwest gem for sure! Hope we have the chance to return soon!

Ive lived in or near Grand Rapids my whole life and this is the first time Ive been to the Wealthy Theater! No idea why I waited so long, its a great place! Old style movie theater and the crowd was quite interactive which was fun. We saw National Lampoons Christmas Vacation which was a treat in and of itself, the theater was a huge bonus!

Great theater, good concession options for a small theater and if youre a member you can order alcoholic beverages.

Saw Piff The Magic Dragon and its an awesome smaller theater. Very intimate setting for any act you may be seeing.

Cute little theater. Seats are old and not that comfortable as a result. The angle of the seating can make it difficult to see the whole screen if an average height person is directly in front of you.

Christmas Vacation in a nostalgic theatre with a true family feeling. Id love to go again!

Saturday is small independent crafters and food makers. Great selection of hard to find crafts. Fun people watching.

I was at the Thriller Chiller film festival and it was a great time. Beautiful venue and great people!

Went and saw Sister Act with my babygirl...popcorn was on point and they have a boat load of toppings. Decent bar with beer on tap and good selection of liquor.

Lovely old theater. I enjoyed the story of it being in a shambles to the point of being condemned and local donations saved it. Beautiful inside.

A Charming old theater thats always great for special screenings and presentations!Street parking can be a challenge however.

Great theater. Seats are small but Im a big person so thats not going to apply to all patrons. Popcorn was delicious and the movie they played was great. All the employees were polite and helpful. Parking is not ideal so show up early if you want a spot close to the theater.

Its was ok just a very eclectic place and parking is very limited

First tine coming here was EPIC! We saw Goblin live while watching original Suspira. Concessions were super affordable. Everyone was friendly and seemed to love what they do. The atmosphere was awesome. Love it. Will be back again and again!!

A local treasure. Restored by a wealthy philanthropist and maintained by the Community Media Center, a nonprofit with the good of our town at heart. If it feels too good to be true, it is.

Nice, quaint venue. Good sightlines and acoustics. Snack bar with a few choices. Beer and wine available with annual membership ($12 as of Sep, 2019)

A really fun place to catch a matinee movie. It has that old school aesthetic that the big theater chains are really lacking these days.

Been coming here for quite awhile now. I mostly go to their meanwhile movies, but they’re super affordable and always a fun time. The staff is really mellow and friendly, drinks and snacks are great, and the movie selections are always pretty solid. Definitely worth your time!

Take a step back in time at this cozy movie theater!It was a fun and interesting experience watching a film at this place. After buying your ticket, you enter into the waiting/lobby area where an antique film dispenser is put on display. To the right is another room/area that leads to the bathrooms; there were also some cool posters and paintings on displayed.Definitely recommend this place for an out-of-the-norm date idea or just a cool experience with friends.

Great place to see classic or offbeat movies. Was here to see Akira on the big screen but have been before to see various performances which is always fun. Bar is open to CMC members and tickets are always inexpensive.

This place is great for watching those cult classic movies we enjoyed from back in the day, and they have live performances too. Please note you need to be a member to buy booze, however you can quickly sign up right there on the spot, it took my husband maybe 5 minutes or less. Well definitely be back, pricing isnt bad for tickets or concessions and its definitely a good time!!

Fantastic food and service. Very tight eating experience as the table are very close together. Dont plan on having a private conversation. ;-)

Great classic movies in a historic movie theater

Wonderful place thats hosts an amazing assortment of entertainment and educational events! Reasonable memberships and great beer on tap.

Terrific venue for a concert.

Unfortunately there was a power outage when I went so this is more of a review on the building itself. We were trying to go to the Grand Rapids Film Festival. Its a beautiful theatre so I feel like I would enjoy watching a movie here. Maybe next time I go Ill be able to watch a movie.

My friend & I went to a play there & it was Awesome.

The theater printed the doors time on the tickets, not the show time, so all 300 of us stood outside in the snow for 90 minutes--doors were 30 minutes late. No appology. No information.A rude member of staff implied that we were all stupid for not knowing that the time printed on our tickets was not the show time. This same time was on all the posters and other signage.Once inside we found that we had to buy a membership in order to purchase beer or wine at the concession. $5 for 6 oz of beer plus a $12 membership and rudeness to boot? No, thanks.It was so cold in the auditorium that we all kept our coats on during the show. I wont be back soon or possibly ever again.

The tickets said 6:30. Got there at 5:45 (to get a good seat, its general admission) and was told that 6:30 was the time the doors opened. Decided to wait. Doors actually opened at 7:15. Stood outside in the cold for an hour and a half. This theater is poorly run.

Best old/indie movie theater in town. True Grand Rapids. The owners/managers have impeccable taste.

Its a cute little theater to visit, but was incredibly cramped. The staff was largely unorganized and uncoordinated. Making people pay extra money (12$ a person) to be members before you can purchase alcohol is also a pretty odd business decision...

Old time theater and new time shows. Everything is worth seeing and hearing. The venue is well restored and maintained. Fantastic place for any type of artistic expression!

Love the aesthetic of Wealthy Street Theater, and the movie selection for their weekly Meanwhile movie. The chairs are a bit much on your butt after the entirety of Return of the King, extended edition, but I suppose thats not that surprising. Servings for popcorn and pop are small, but reasonable.

I attended Wealthy Street Theater along with some friends to see some musical entertainers its a good time decent prices and also serves alcohol

Nice little theater. Very well kept. We were there for a music recital. Nice stage, and the sound fills the theater wonderfully.

Had a lot of fun watching Hocus Pocus with my daughters. Fun crowd, enjoyed the staff and it was nice being able to have a glass of wine while waiting. (Only members may order alcohol.)

A neat old movie theater that hosts various drama groups. Weve experienced some unprofessional dealings with the ticket office that necessitated a physical visit to resolve an issue that could not be resolved over the phone.

Saw Rocky Horror here tonight and it was fantastic! Great venue for crowds who like to have fun while enjoying a great film!

The Grand Rapids Academy of Music uses the theatre for all of their recitals. It is perfect for this!

Went to a Latin Film Festival here. Free food was catered in were we mused around enjoying some eats and chatting with others. The film was wonderful. I will definitely be back.

Great small venue. Have seen plays, improv, music and movies here and it works well for all of those. Alcohol is tricky here as you have to be a member of their organization to purchase.

Today I went to the Wealthy Theatre for the Mosaic Film Experience and it was great!I have participated in the 2017 MFE. It was just as great. We got to meet the guy who created the customes for Black Panther and many more! I feel like now Im mostly just talking about the MFE rather than the Theatre itself. The theatre was great too!If you like old days themed things than I would recommend going here. Its details on the walls and chairs are really vintage feeling. Including the building itself!

Cute theater that has a variety of different events to attend, like music, live acting performances, classic movies, and films with discussion after. You also can drink beer here, which is great.
