My apologies. The last text was posted incorrectly. Now, about Rover Tours. This is our second visit on this tour to visit the island and look for shells. Truth is - you might get lucky finding some very good shells, or you might now. Just depends on what the tide brings in.But the best part of this ride is listening to the local guides narrate and provide historical information about the local community and the surrounding areas. Weve been lucky to have a different guide each time. Both have been very knowledgeable and friendly beyond belief. You will enjoy the ride, the company, and guides and captain. And, you just might be lucky and find some really good shells.

Went out on the 4pm cruise and it was a beautiful day. Saw dolphins, the lighthouse, sunset and got a few nice shells. It isnt just a shelling cruise so if thats all you want it might not be for you. If you love history and nature and shelling then youll love this trip. Paige was extremely knowledgeable and gave great information throughout the entire trip as well as being super friendly! Thanks Paige! The only reason I didnt give 5 stars was because we arrived the 30min before hand like recommended and the boat was already full so took seats on the metal bench. After 3 hours total round trip on that we were feeling pretty rough. Some sort of padding is definitely needed because of the length of this trip. We would definitely come back and bring guests here again but only if we knew that was improved. Thanks so much!

If you are looking for something to do then this is the place to go. Order your tickets online and show up early for the experience of a lifetime. Dave and Paige will take you out to the North Island where you will get the chance to find really hard to find seashells. On the way to the Island you will learn a lot about the history of South Carolina and the city of Georgetown. Very educational and fun at the same time.

Very pleasant adventure from Georgetown harbor out to North island and back. The shelling and lighthouse tour is about four hours long with about one to one and a quarter hour trip one way. Throughout the trip the boat captain and first mate kept us entertained with stories of the history of the area. We were also able to see a variety of wildlife including dolphins, alligator, bald eagles and other waterfowl.I would definitely recommend this tour to others.

They canceled less than an hour before the scheduled time for arrival. EDIT: In response to the reply from the owner. When I was filling out the form for the tour and was asked to give a contact number, I gave the same one as my billing number-the one you called. I received no cancellation email, or voicemail (prior to the call at 11:38 for the 12:30 scheduled arrival time) like you stated, nor did I return your call, I answered your call. Im not sure what number you called when you left said voicemail but I have no sign of any form of contact prior to you calling after 11:30.

Enjoyed learning about the history of Georgetown. Also, they talked about what you could find on the island and found several great shells. Enjoyed the cruise and they did well whenever a thunderstorm rolled through the area. They tried to time it where we wouldnt get wet on the walk back to our cars. Very nice and caring staff. They even offered ponchos and blankets to everyone aboard. Thank you for a great experience!

I had such an enjoyable time on my cruise! The crew was so friendly and knowledgeable and they really took extra care to make sure everyone was having a great time and getting the most out of their experiences. I was impressed with how much history we learned during the tour (particularly about the Harvest Moon) and really enjoyed learning little tid bits of information. They also provided tips for the shelling part of the tour and quite a few people found impressive shells. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone travelling in the area, it is definitely worth the money!

80% of the time was talking and sitting on the boat. A couple cool shells but nothing you couldn’t find on another beach. If you sat in the front, you get roasted by the sun. Staff was nice. One and done.

While on North Island with another tour group, word came that there was a man alone and in distress, stranded on the island. The Captain of our boat stayed while we searched (we volunteered to help) then our crew stayed behind while our captain returned us to the dock. He then took his private boat back to continue the search. The Captain of of the Carolina Rover said he didnt have time to search. He left.Just think, if you missed your return boat (who was the captain who didnt make sure everyone was accounted for?) and night and high tide were coming. What a heartless captain and crew!

The island was beautiful, but do it with another company! Paid over $140.00 for two adults and two children and we all didnt even have seats! The crew like to belittle you in front of others for there enjoyment. You also have around an hour on the beach and are not allowed on the lighthouse property. So very disappointed, been wanting to go on this excursion for quiet awhile. We had to have my 2 year old grandson sit on our lap since they clearly overbooked the boat. The seats are plastic benches screwed into the deck of the boat. So very disappointed! Never had such a bad experience on something so expensive.Edited to add:After seeing my review the owner called and threatened me with their lawyer! The littering I was accused of was putting the fire of my cigarette ( bad habbit trying to quit) in the sand my cigarette butt was in my pocket but never got the chance to explain just was belittled by crew. Guess this is the only real review they will get since they think they can scare people into covering up the truth! Also other passangers after the boat ride offered their sympathy of how we we treated and didnt give any tips to the captain/deckhand. You may have ruined my vacation but it was noticed! Also has a C rating with the BBB.

Today we went and did an 11:30 tour with this company and it was simply amazing. I would recommend this for any couple or family. Our tour guide Ben and Captain John were great. Ben was incredibly knowledgable, the tour and cruise was amazing, he was great with the kids, and there was so much to learn about the area. Ben bonded individually with the guests and kept the day trip lively and entertaining. The only negative aspect about our experience was sunburn, but with it being 100 degrees and being forwarned about our seat choice, we didnt have any regrets. We saw a lot of wildlife and even saw several dolphins jump in front of the boat. Ben was great about getting his guests water and keeping them cool, and I felt safe with John behind the wheel. Overall, I would totally come back and do this tour again and recommend it to all of my friends and family traveling in the area! 11/10!

Absolutely horrible customer service. Got behind a car accident and was running behind. Called ahead to see if we could get a rain check, but Chris and Pam (manager) were very rude and disrespectful of the circumstances. I highly suggest the sea thunder if you want a great experience and to actually see dolphins. Very disappointed and lost a lot of money.

Glorious tour with the best tour guides. Took the 1:00 tour ,saw the lighthouse, gathered sea shells and some driftwood. Our host Captain John and the tour guide who I dont remember his name (sorry) were the best. Lots of information and total friendliness. It was very worried dylan on the open water, wish we had our sweatshirts and miserable Flys. Soon to be gone and the weather is getting warmer. Money well worth its value. Thank you everyone.
