Absolutely loved this guided tour, with the exception of our driver backing into a tree and jolting our back and neck. (Headache rest of day) The main house is amazing, just to walk and sit in the same room as some of the most powerful people world had gives one the chills. The price is only $20 per person and it is well worth you 2 hours to visit this hidden gem.

We really enjoyed the tour & the history of this place. Dean at the desk was very helpful, Joe the van driver and Chuck the house tour guide were both very informative. We will highly recommend this Plantation tour if anyone is in the area or planning on visiting the area.

The visitors center has a really informative display, and the guided tour we took off the property was neat. They do not allow independent exploration of the grounds (they are a dedicated research and conservation area,) so dont expect to be able to do much else.

An amazing place with over a century of history. A glimpse at the way things use to be for the rich and famous. Walk in the footsteps of Sir Winston Churchill and President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

This was the winter home for Bernard M. Baruch and his family. It was built in 1931 after the original wood-framed plantation home burned down on New Years Eve 1929. The home is built of concrete and brick and was state-of-the-art fireproofed. The first floor has been restored and contains the guest bedroom where Winston Churchill and Franklin D. Roosevelt slept when visiting Hobcaw.

Interesting to see how the influential and wealthy lived in the early 1900s. Also a fascinating nature conservancy.
