Perfect place to stop and learn Texas history regarding women and those who helped the area become the cities that we love. Plus it’s nice and cold inside, there’s a gift shop and interactive things for the kids to do (pre-covid days). We visit this museum a few times each summer and then walk the town square.

Very nicely arranged and very informative. The volunteer we spoke with was also very knowledgeable. There is a little shop with hand made crafts, aprons, bonnets etc for sale plus books for the history buffs that visit. Will be going again soon.

The Williamson Museum is located in an old bank building, right across from the county courthouse. Exhibits change frequently. I took a daughter-in-law on an evening guided tour around the square listening to stories about the many haunted buildings around the square. It was very entertaining and something I have wanted to do forvyears.

Lovely and little, this local history museum is quaint and run by a friendly staff. Free admission, with a cute gift shop as well. Just a random, but sweet, sidenote, this is where I was when I realized I was in love with my boyfriend

Our county has an outstanding museum, not only on the square in Georgetown but also on the Chisholm Trail in Round Rock. There is no fee for admittance. Stop in and see the wonderful exhibits and interactive history sites. If you have kids, its a must do. There are so many activities and events - make certain you pick up a calendar of upcoming events - there is even a fantastic kids day camp available. In October, the fundraising event is the Cattlemans Ball. I had so much fun last year I cant wait to go again this year! Good food, great music and so much fun. If you have been meaning to make some new friends and get active in your community there is no better place to get started! Members get special invitations to everything you can imagine, from authors lecture series to brunch in the Courthouse for the annual Poppy Festival. If you join any organization, pick this one first. I promise you will enjoy it very much.
