This place is awesome period very nice spot. The people are very friendly. Everyone helps everybody out. I caught plenty of fish and had a very good time. I hope to come back soon and most likely I will. Thank yall guys at 61st Pier.

Beautiful place to stop and see the sunset on Galveston Island. Had a lot of people fishing off the docks but still plenty of parking room and places to stand on the pier. Felt safe and well lit. Scenic area with lots to do nearby. Highly recommend!

Great fishing. Rented decent poles and bought shrimp bait. Prices were very reasonable and locals were great company. Peir is open 24 hours which was awesome! Spent all day and night here and caught a BIG Bull Red!

Had a great time with the family and my bff. First time the boys fish off a pier and it was great! I dont fish but I sure was waiting on the Game Warden to get a picture of her but she didnt go check for licenses that day..big fan of Lone Star Law...lol The pier is family friendly and the wristband is good for 24hours of fishing!!

After a long walk along the Seawall, my wife and I came across the 61st Fishing Pier. They had beer for me, a frozen beverage for my wife, and were invited to enjoy them on the second deck. Nice people, and a great place in Galveston to take in natures beauty.

Lots of fun, constant bites. Got our tickets on groupon, $23 for 2 people plus 1lb of bait. The Employees are awesome. We caught a stingray, croaker, 2 different kinds of catfish. Also watched a 24in blacktip shark and a 34in redfish get reeled in.

Good place to bring friends and family? You must pay to fish over there? when I stopped by it was $36 for 3 Adults so the man told me,he also said it’s best to come and the morning around 6:00am to get your on.

We had a great time. We didnt fish, but we had a few drinks on the observation deck. The staff was great. Watching the fishers catch their fish was therapeutic in a way.

Nice touristy kinda place, lots of souvenirs and food/drinks. Upper deck for great ocean views and lower docks for fishing.

Great family owed place. Prices are reasonable. My daughter and I seen people catching fish and crabs. If you buy something in the store they allow you to go on their observation deck for free. If you want to go on the fishing deck its $12 pass for 24 hours. Im looking forward to visiting again. We bought a crab set up. The sweet lady inside helped my daughter set up the net so she could catch crabs.

This place is super cool! Prices are very reasonable. U can take your own food and drinks (no glass). But, u have to buy your beer from them. They have a little store and all kinds of snacks and fishing equipment for very fair prices.Your fishing pass is good until 6am the next morning. If u rent poles, u can turn them in and leave. Then come back later and they will give u poles again.... No other cost. (If your pass is still active.)Not the cleanest place on Earth for sure .. But, it IS a fishing pier... So considering that.... Bathrooms were very clean though.

The fishing was good. We caught lots of fish and had a good time. The fishing pier staff was excellent! A portion of the pier was damaged and inaccessible.

Definitely worth checking out if youre in the area.

Came down from North Texas & was excited to fish here because of the high reviews. My family & I were very disappointed. We fished for 6 1/2 hours and didnt catch anything. We had much better luck fishing from the shore the next day & caught several. Dont waste your time.

I got the rich boy and my girlfriend had the bocado burger. Outstanding with flavor. I had a great experience from the hostess to the waitress to shaking the managers hand. I will definitely come back. A lot of people say its expensive, but if you want to taste something good its worth every dollar.

Had a nice relaxing couple hours fishing here. We were able to rent poles and they have a supply of everything needed to fish. Counter guy was awesome and friendly! We are in town for work so we basically had nothing with us for fishing gear. Knifes for $1.00, towels for $1.50, all kinds of bait and other stuff in the small store, souvenirs, t-shirts, sweatshirts, jewelry, etc. It was cloudy and started to sprinkle but we were able to move under the top roof decking to stay out of the wind and rain. Didnt catch anything but others around us were. Just no luck for us today.

Even though the water was sandy, my son and I caught about 50 whiting in the 1 to 2 pound range with one at 4 pounds. Parking on the seawall by the pier was only $8.00 for all day. They sell all the bait you could want and rent fishing rigs if you do not have your own (means all you need to bring is an ice chest). Great place and family friendly.

Talk about catching more fish then you know what to do with!!!! My fiance and me caught more then twenty something fish we decided to call it a nightLet also talk about the staff! Talk about helpful and informative! I really wish I could remember the name of the man that helped us Tuesday night cause he was wonderful!

Kind of a pricey admission fee for a dock. But, it is well kept with clean amenities. Beer is cheap, bait is fairly priced, and the fishing was good.

The employees were really professional! The locals hog the pier and its almost impossible to fish there. You might get lucky if they arent there but when i went about 95 percent of people fishing were locals. They would put their rods in different locations on the pier so no one could stand there and fish.

Its a bait shop and you can get t-shirts, they sell bait. They have a upper level its 2 dollars to get up there. I would definitely fish there because there was a whole school of fish plus some loved it!

This was actually great! A different kind of beach compared to California or Florida but pretty unique. We had a lot of fun here! The water was warm and the sunset was amazing!

My sister and me went last night we had a great time it was 4.00 for the two of us to go above and observe everyone fishing. They also give you water with your admission.

I come down here every year and spend my time fishing here i suggest this fishing pier to everyone of my friends

Great place to go fish without to much work......caught a 15lb black drum my first time out. Thought it was awesome they give a veteran discount. Dont worry to much about buying bait while your there. As people leave they give the bait they didnt use away to anyone who wants it.

So apparently if you have any conditions that make you not be able wear a mask this business owner will boot you. So if you have any conditions this isn’t they place for not that great anyway so you won’t miss much.

Today was great starting with a beautiful sun rise, good fishing and fun people fishing.

Had a good time, caught a few sharks, bunch of hard heads and gaftoptails also.

Caught a 37 inch bullred.Gilbert was very helpful in showing me how to catch off the pier!

Relaxing place for a cool view while fishing. As long as this place is busy it technically is open 24 hours, but if it is slow it closes. So beware of that before you make the drive down here.Only issue we had was dont neglect your line at ANY TIME! It gets tangled belong the pier and you have to cut it.

My son fished off this per with his dad from 11:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. They had such a blast. They caught fish consistently all night. The staff was friendly and helpful. My boys are novices at fishing and the people on the pier were also super helpful and nice. It has a community vibe. It costs less than $20 to fish off the pier plus the cost to rent rods and buy bait at the shop. They wound up spending less than $50 total for a really good time.

Its a good place to fish no doubt about that. Im just disappointed in the customer service. I threw my wrist band away not expecting to go back. I called to see if a receipt will do that has time and date and i payed with card so information can definitely match. I called to see if i can go back Rude boy answers the phone and says the women from the morning shift should have told us that it cannot be cut off or we have to pay another entrance . She didnt tell us that.. So i feel ripped off. The receipt. My card and i.d should have been enough to let me back in.

Pier staff was great, very helpful. Fishing was fair at best, hardheads, gafftops all small. Saw 1 red and a few small sharks/rays caught. Only negative was the locals. Very cliquish, hoarded the T of the pier, crossed lines often and generally rude/racist.

It was my first time there and it was nice. Expect to pay a fee for every single person that you bring with you even children and even if they are not fishing.

Galveston Beach was clean this year. Great weekend getaway and cheap entertainment for the kids ;) allday rentals umbrella and chairs =$40; chairs only =$5.00

Nice little pier option. Stopped by on my morning walk. It looks to be $12 to fish and $2 for viewing. They had a wide assortment of knick knacks for said. Loved the early morning backdrop. Great place to reflect.

Go out there, park and pay before you get busted, and get your head together. Bring your own fishing gear and live bait. Cast way out, buy a few beers, and get your mind right. Great place to get away but find a place through Air BnB. Hotels are overpriced.

I always enjoy this place at night. Hot dogs were great. Staff was cool. Piped in music outside. Great views. Grab a beer and hang out on the pier.

Great pier for families. Enjoyed our first visit and look forward to returning once the weather permits. Pier offers baits, snacks and Knicknacks for the littles. Overall this was a positive experience for our family.

I have been fishing there for 28 years I al ways come back sometimes I don’t for three years because of work but when I come back great fun and excellent service if the tide is moving and the water is green I have caught some of my biggest speckle trout on live shrimp . My wife doesn’t fish but loves the upper deck the sunsets are beautiful. Great place to bring kids they have dead bait to catch red fish whiting sharks I have met some many friends there .They have food and drinks if you haven’t been must go I love this place

You guys might want to put something on your website, stating the process or the wait time to fish on your pier. Don’t have your customers drive 2 hrs to found out the horrible wait to fish on your Pier. I am glad that The Texas City Dike has taken over most of your clients. $10 to fish for a family of 4. Beats your 2 hr wait and $60 dollar entry fee.

My son and I decided to have a fishing trip and he choose Galveston. There are many many choices around to fish. I wanted to keep it simple since we are from Denison Texas and we wanted to travel light. After some research we found the 61st pier was very close and we werent disappointed. We were immediately greeted by a kind young man named Nick who was helped us noobies through the whole shebang. His bait recommendation had us catching good size sand trout right off the bat which was very exciting! We not only caught fish all morning ( 6am to 3pm for a very good price!) , we had a great bonding experience with lots of kind people around us! You can literally rent or buy anything you would ever need here ,( or bring your own) just have your fishing license ,a friend and get ready to have some fun! Also, ask for Nick he will take care of you.

This place is amazing the fact that they have restrooms and don’t have to get out and find a restroom is great! I have a toddler that loves to fish so having a restroom available is great! The place is clean and they have great customer service!!
