Pretty little secluded beach area on Galveston Island. I love that we were able to drive our cars onto the beach and park them right by the shore. The waves are very small and the water was warm (in mid June). You can see lots of birds - seagulls and other larger birds that dive and swoop into the ocean to catch fish. The sun and humidity are like none other so bring lots of sunscreen, and perhaps an umbrella if it isnt too windy (its usually really windy), and some camping chairs to sit in. Would definitely recommend this beach to anyone traveling or otherwise! The entrance fee was $12 on the day we went but it fluctuates.

Its good the parking is limited and there isnt much beach to set up a small camp because the tide will flood it. Several time the water almost went to where the cars are parked

The waters perfect come on in.Incredible day at the beach, magnificent cool ocean breeze, good wave action not to hot. Tandem parachuters landing on the beach, families enjoying the day, everyone just having a great day. Lots of pelicans and gulls flying around to increase the ambience. The porta-potties are nasty or this review would be perfect.

Our second time here! Both times we arrived at 5pm and its not too crowded we found a parking on the beach in no time. Perfect for spending the day just be prepared to use the port a potty because there are no restrooms. The fee for parking in here is $15 but I didnt mind because its a nice area.

This beach was awesome. I definitely recommend it. Skydivers landed all day right behind us. It was a nice treat!

Lovely day at the beach. Close, free parking ( no beach parking at that location). Tipsy Turtle bar and grill staff friendly. Outside and inside showers and toilets. Calm winds, mostly clear water.

Its the beach seagulls are expected. I only come to this beach with my family. You can bring tents and have a great time stay all day and they have portables. If you have a handicapped license plate or placard most times you get in free.

Love this pocket park. Sunny beach is more local than tourist, clean portable restrooms, $15 per car per entry during the summer season, free to enter in the off-season. Woodys restaurant and bar is located at the entrance, on 7 1/2 mile road, and is kid friendly. Large tidal pool directly opposite the ocean with some of the best shell pickings on the ocean side of the island.

In the summer, the parking lot gets filled up pretty quickly. It was full before 11am when we arrived. We parked off to the right and had a short walk. It wasnt as crowded, but there is also nothing around the beach. So, pack everything you need and try not to get burned.

Its great just bring something to sit on besides your towel. There is alot of debris on the beach. Not trash just sticks and vegetation

These are wonderful little pocket beaches. I love em because you can drive on Beach. Thats what Im used to.

The beach is very nice. I came at about 2 on a Saturday. It costs 15 dollars to enter the beach by car. The woman in the booth was very nice and helpful. There are porto pottys and the water was warm. CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF BERORE YOU LEAVE.

A nice little area that charges you to park on the beach. It was clean and plenty of room if you get there early.Galveston, the beach that Texas simply does not care about. Its dirty and polluted but who cares as people still find their way here because its the closest thing available.Luckily for me, this time it seemed a bit cleaner. I didnt have the pollution smell on me and it was enjoyable.Maybe Texas is actually going to start caring about the beaches? But I dont think you should hold your breath.If you go, this is a good spot!

We went on a week day during February. The sign as you turn in says Pocket Beach 1. It was a nice, clean beach and there was an area where water was flowing into the ocean where my kids loved playing and catching tiny fish. Nice pocket beach. Did not observe any restrooms.

Get away from sea-wall and come here to get more of a private beach experience. The people that come here are generally more family oriented, and there is a lot less partying. Ive stayed here over-night before also, and its always quite and a great time.

Great little beach! Its tucked away from all the crowds and there is not as much people (a good thing!). We always come here for our annual summer family vacation! My only frustration and disappointment is that everything is about MONEY- This year, we paid the one time entrance fee then after a while we had to go get ice and apparently they charged my mom a re-entrance fee despite our ticket being right smack dab there on our car dashboard! Like seriously?! Guess thats how yall make money, huh. Thats how yall pay those people sitting on their a** so peacefully in that little booth charging cars the beach entrance fee. Geez!

There is no better place to be than the ocean, and this place is great. You can park right by the water and in off season there is no charge. Alcohol is permitted as well as pets. Beach is clean and quiet.

Very nice place to stay in the sun, sand is tough to get through at first and you may get stuck, so be careful! Other than that it can be very crowded.

Very clean and affordable. Get there early, it fills up quick.

It was raining and windy. Not sure if thats why the waves were so high since this is the first time Ive ever seen the Gulf of Mexico. Also, it was closer to low tide than to high tide.

Drive right on the beach and have a BBQ while the kids play.
