Awesome place to spend time with family and friends. One can take a long walk along the beach or on the pavement running along the beach. Good restaurants and shops around to enjoy shopping and dining. Now is a great time to visit as the weather has also cooled down.

Its a pretty nice Beach. Theres a ton of hotels and restaurants and lots of attractions along this Long Beach. Hes always people out and things to do here. The water almost always feels perfect and you cant find a better Sunrise anywhere in Texas.

Anybody who has been to Galveston knows it is not the prettiest beach in the world. It is not Jamaica or Key West with clear water but it is what you make of it. I enjoy fun in the sand, surf and sun. It is the closest beach to me and Galveston has nice restaurants and shopping areas. My room rates were reasonable and I had a great get a way.

Its been a while since we visited Galveston. We arrived on a Thursday night in October. We were amazed at how clean and peaceful the beach was along the seawall. We took our stroll in the late evening and enjoyed watching the beautiful colors on the beach and water as the sunset.

Nice place to take a walk and enjoy the sound of the waves. There are souvenir shops, bars and the pleasure pier which has roller coasters, food, live music and more. Its a great place to come and relax.

We enjoyed our bike ride, sitting on the jetties, eating, and just hanging out. It was some much needed relaxation.

This was my first trip to the Gulf coast. It was amazing!! The beach wasnt super clean, I had to watch out for overturned bottle caps, but other than that it was a fantastic experience and I will be back!

It was cool ... water made me itch tho and burned my eyes. That saltwater aint no joke lol. But great eateries available and a nice place to go if you want a lil get a way

Took the kids to the beach. They had fun in the sun and played in the water for hours. We went on a Tuesday so it wasnt crowded at all.

A nice day, minus the choppy waves. You could still enjoy the time, just practice safety at all times.

We love having a beach thats just 5 hours to get to. The water might not be blue but the waves sound the same. This is always a great place to visit with lots to do and see

It was nice at sunset... on Sunday evening...very few people and no traffick.

Loved it here needing a break from.the city life and this was exactly what I needed enjoyed the water, sun, and just the atmosphere. Grateful that I came much needed time away!

Needs an uplift, but way cleaner than before, all building need upgrading from plumbing to paint, and more beachfront activities would be great.

I dont care what ppl say about the water but being from Dallas this is my closet beach and I love the simplicity of Galveston.

Lovely place for picnic but if small van carring food or edible items with cold drinks and many more stalls of tourists attractions should be opened for gud hence increase its attraction.

It was nice but, I didnt care to have to pay to park on the seawall.

We came here for drinks while waiting to check in to our Airbnb We were at the outdoor bar. I had the Texas Patriotic Punch... Red White and Blue. It was nicely done. We enjoyed the view and the ambience. The food menu looked good and we look forward to coming back and having something to eat next time.

We always enjoy the beach, always clean and we feel safe here.

Not beautiful and kind of smells, so overall disappointing. Easy access to the huge, open beach from street parking was the highlight, I guess. Im sure there must be nicer sections of the beach in Galveston

We came here to visit the Pleasure Pier, and though it opens at 12 PM, we got here early to get a good parking spot, and we walked around on the beach and explored things till the Pier opened. Nice place to stay for at least a few hours.

Hard ti bear the Seawall. Miles of rolling ocean. Lots of sun and sand. Easy access to fishing. rent tandem bikes or a covered cart. Spend the day escaping from city life. Its Galveston!

My dog had such a wonderful time here! The beach wasnt too busy. The water was great and the people we ran into were so friendly. The parking on the street is so cheap ($1 an hour). Will definitely return.

This will be my final journey to Galveston Island. Why? Well basically Vampire Hordes of trillions of mosquitoes that come out at dusk. So much that everyone in my group screamed like we were in some kind of a low budget B movie when we were attacked. I have no idea if the city is doing anything about it (like a squadron of C-130s raining mosquito insecticides on the entire beach) or maybe they are helpless to the blood suckers. Either way Im done. Please, eliminate the mosquitos. Ask the government for the money to nuke the island daily or invite mosquito eating frogs to the island till you all disrupt their nesting grounds and/or Eco system. God bless Galveston. I gave 5 Stars because we all just went thru Covid-19 shutdowns and etc. Elected leaders, do something. Farewell.

Wish I had more time to explore take out my metal detector flip flops go fishing fly a kite, ride more motorcycle. Go sea kayaking. Fun enough but watch your posestions.

Had a blast The water was pretty cold but you got used to it. Parking was fairly easy to find be going back pretty soon for sure.

Walk along the Gulf is never better than the Seawall. Sunrise to sunset are best for photos to remember Galveston by.

Big seawall and nice beach

The beach is closed due to the quarantine but people still walk their dogs or ride their bikes along the Seawall. Nice and enjoyable! Beach patrol will tell you to get off the beach FYI .

We enjoy walking along the boulevard as the seagulls and pelicans fly by. We love the Gulf breezes, the crashing sounds of the waves and the fabulous sunsets! If you have not been lately, come back to the island and relax and have some fun! Plenty of food options too!

GTown, Always a blast!!! Sun sets, bikes, fishing, good food. Does have low points, some places not as friendly, others need upgrades. All together awesome.

Im from California where the water is blue and this is uhhhhhhh not blue. But the seawall itself is amazing.

I spent the first five days of my vacation in the hospital, but I was very well cared for at UTMB in Galveston.I did get to put my feet in the ocean a few minutes before returning home.

Love this walk when not many people are out. October was a good time to be there.

Crowded and over packed. To many to really relax and enjoy. Kids on scooters not looking so be careful as they have no concern for traffic. Disaster waiting to happen.

Super cool place to bring your family. This was our second visit and it was even better than the first since the beach wasnt nearly as crowded.. Even so there are alot of beaches here to checkout. The seawall is so long theres room for everyone plus pleasure pier sits on it! And alot of cool resturants nearby

We visited the seawall just before the pandemic hit. It was beautiful. We read the history of the wall and the area on each of the stone benches.

I love Galveston had a good time with my brother and sister-in-law it was after she got off of work and it was getting dark I wanted to go to the pier where they had the Ferris wheels and stuff but it was too late and it was a little walkway from where we were at and I know my brother was really tired so next time I go were going to make a better schedule where hes off on vacation and Jose on vacation or a day off work dogs didnt know what to do with the water coming up back at them it was funny

The Seawall is an amazing sight to see! I love that you are driving so close for miles right by the Gulf. The beach has great sea shells to collect, great views, and some parts are rocky that you can walk on for more scenic pictures. Lots of good shops and restaurants. I didnt get in the water so I cant comment on that but the waves are not big and you do have to be careful of rip tides and sandbars.
