It is beautiful this time of year. It has a nice park for kids to play at. It is so peaceful.

It’s big and great for biking. The water smells sometimes though. You can sled down the dam in winter if you wanna break your leg. Fun

A beautiful place. A wonderful Memorial to our Veterans and the park itself with the lake, cat tails, lively pine trees and more is peaceful and beautiful. Nice place to spend and otherwise hot afternoon.

Iwalk every morning that weather permits, and enjoy so much. If you could trim some over hanging tree branches on bike path it would be nice for bikers not to have to duck. Also path has muddy spots that can be very slick at times

This is a great place to run, bike, and walk! There are paved trails as well as off-road trails. It is very pretty and relaxing.

Best park in Galesburg with all sorts of different possible activities. The wooded trails are great for hiking, mountain biking, and trail running. There’s also a playground, beach, soccer fields, baseball fields, and open field space.

Great place to get in touch with nature when you are stuck in the city. Theres swimming camping paddle boating nature trails bike paths playground and fishing. Unfortunately theirs a lot of litter left behind so please clean up after yourselves and visit clean up Galesburg on Facebook we are a group that is trying to clean up the environment in the city we live in.

Do not take your children I was kicked off the beach for playing in the sand with my children,other kids were playing in the sand but since their parents rented a boat it’s acceptable i on the other hand own my own boat and don’t wish to rent one so we’re not welcome there!

Wonderfull place to walk our dogs. Lots of shade and trails and nice paths to walk on.

Nice picnic area. A lot of tables and garbage cans. Only bad thing is no close restrooms.

Its a nice local park with its normal park amenities. I usually like to go walking/jogging along the long bike paths and enjoy the tranquil scenery as I go, before heading back into town.

Beautiful place and scenery. I would NOT go swimming or play in the sand, but a walk around the park is a must do.

Lots of dead trees around the area, some pose a safety risk. But its clean and plenty of space for gatherings

Its a lake. Not bad to walk around. Kinda polluted wouldnt drink or swim.

Fall at the lake is full of beautiful views around every curve... Family fun and fond memories...park campground ball n soccer fields picnics pavillions playgrounds and walking path...and of course fishing water slide and n paddle boats in the summer!!!

I love this park its so beautiful. I used to go camping there as a kid and I have so many fond memories. The park is usually well maintained. The wild life is great. The landscape is very pretty. I love the 80s Nostalgia. The fall is the best time to go.

Fantastic price. Short highway to entry clearly needs work. Like traveling on a boat in a wavy sea. Nice, quaint county campground. Definitely will overnight again.

We went to the beach and the water was disgusting. I am aware it was the end of the season but goose feces was everywhere and the water looked slimy.We had an excellent time at the beach playing (away from the goose droppings) and just relaxing.The kids rented a boat and paddled around the lake.The campground was amazing, showers were good not great no temperature control and you had to pull a rope to turn the water one. It was a very nice time and will definitely definitely go back.

Great place to walk in the morning, so quiet and very clean. The walkway even had a measure so you know how far you walked...great way to push yourself healthy. They also have events held there so if your into the be seen and do (which Im not) you can socialize and maybe see something new.

Nice campground with good showers and toilets. We had a great site with a concrete pad. The campground was very busy (it was a Saturday night in early June) but it was not too noisy. The rates were very reasonable too.

Nice clean park

It has gone downhill since I was younger. The trails arent cleared off so hike at your own risk, somebody had all their stuff sprawled out across the dock so others couldnt use it the ramp down to the dock had huge divots in it making it hazardous, the bathrooms werent awful but they werent nice either but what can you expect from a camp ground public shower, another thing about the bathrooms the only thing between a person taking a shower and the rest of the campground are a couple shower curtains and a screen door that doesnt even latch not very good. The doors to the toilet stalls didnt latch either. Now I love going camping but this place needs some work. I wish i could say this was still my favorite place to go.

This is a great park with a long walking trail and lots of picnic tables and space. It is usually nice and quiet and feels quite safe. It is pretty clean as well.

If youre camping there is water sewer and Electric or you can pitch your tent. theres a beach on the other side at a campground. Plenty of Fishing. Fourth of July fireworks playgrounds water park two boat ramps on the lake trolling motor only. Minutes from restaurants Walmart and many others. Highly recommended!

Very nice little park! Lots of grass around camp sites. The trees are a bit overgrown on some of the park roads, so I didnt drive on them for fear of scratching vehicles. But, we would love to camp there sometime! Good prices and very clean!

Great place for the family. I come here every summer with the kids. We play on the beach and walk around and fish. They also have a long path that I can bring the stroller on and walk around. They have bathrooms available when the park is open. There is a slide but it has not been open the times I have been there to visit.There are picnic tables to eat at as well.

Went for mountain biking. Excellent trails from beginner up with good signage. Had a blast.

Site 120 way to tight for slide outs no space shower was so hot couldnt stand it dont how a child could it was reported supervised stated let it run....manager super nice if been on the other side probably would of been better

Gorgeous area so close to town. From picnics to fishing it has a great feel. Unfortunately the lack of upkeep on the lake itself keeps people away. Older generations tell me how well it was taken care of in the past. Still a nice place.

Big and beautiful! Only problem that I have with it is the constant threat of e-coli in the lake. I never swim there anymore and I unwittingly let my dog swim in it recently and she became ill from it.

Great natural setting for walking on the trail. Hate the offensive graffiti that doesnt seem to get dealt with properly. City employees make great money; they need to step up and take care of this problem regularly.

Large lake, paddle boats camping, lakeside water park. Trails and playground with plenty of green space. Fishing and boating popular with locals.

The park was amazing. Only problem was people leaving trash behind when they were done. 5-star park!

We love this park. Its beautiful, surrounds the lake. The playground is really nice, near bathrooms with actual toilets and running water. But bring your own soap! There are also pavilions with picnic tables near the playground and at various points around the park. Theres a mile-marked walking/bike path around the lake, through the trees. Lovely place to walk. Dog friendly, but bring bags. Parking available. Plenty of fishing spots and boat ramps. We love fishing on the covered deck!

Very nice. Attended a Civil War reenactment, with over 200 reenactors. Good lesson in our history.

The park is convenient and easy to get to, but the full hookup RV sites back up to a busy road. There only a few. Most of the park is electric only or electric/water and group sites. The lake is pretty, but you cant ride a bike from the campground to the beach on the other side.

Great place

We love going to Lake Storey for a afternoon of fishing. Last year we had a great year catching catfish. This year the lake has way to much algae. Its hard to even get through it with a trolling motor.

Park was very nice with the exception of the tons of goose pop on the beach.

The playground equipment is fairly nice and easy to access. Theres TONS of walking and biking paths as well as the lake itself to swim, boat, and fish! Its also a great place to host birthday parties and family events!

Great trail

This use to be a very popular place to go. My family and I went to the beachside of the lake and it was discusting. There was a rotten Carp fish afloat in the water. Now, you would think that with it being 4th of July and our communitys BIG BANG BOOM fireworks show was later that evening, and it being a public place someone would have cared enough to remove the smelly thing prior to opening up to the public but no.. I wish the beach could return to its former glory, maybe then the public would visit it more often.

I come about once a week. I live an hour away & come for fishing, the walking trails, & the cleanliness of the park. Fishing is handicapped accessible in most places & all the restrooms are handicapped accessible. I love watching the birds & swimming at the beach.

My mom and I have enjoyed the walking trail at this park for years. The trail is paved and has a lot of shaded areas. There are also hiking/biking trails throughout the woods for those who like more of an adventure. Love this park.
