On your way here drive carefully as it is one lane road for two way traffic. You will commonly see bicyclists on this road. The parking lot is limited so beware of the possibility of it being full. I did see enforcement at the park on my visit.Dogs can be off leash here if the cows arent present. My dog had a great time off leash and there are plenty of other dogs on the trail too.Bicyclist are on the trail too so keep an eye out for them.Easy trails, good views, kind of out there but worth the drive. Very enjoyable and will come back again.

Great park! Amazing view of the rest of the bay area. Very little traffic on weekends too; the ride up and down is just as enjoyable as the hike itself.

Good view of the south bay (if you ignore power lines), wide trails, small amount of parking, but I still like it as my local spot.

This trail is really lonely. You’ll hardly find any people here and can feel scary at times. The hoard on the trail head says there are rattle snakes in the area. Also I have heard some not so good stories about it’s trailhead on Fremont side. I didn’t know anything about it when we hiked here the first time but after hearing things, we may not go back. I’d recommend on using your caution if you want to hit these trails. But anyway, the trail is great by itself. Great bay views.

The views from this quiet park are fantastic. We happened to visit on a day after a rainstorm, so the smog in the valley had been washed away. It was an unplanned visit so we hadnt bought water or binoculars. Well be better prepared next time.

Less populated hike with fabulous 360 views. There is a bathroom at the trailhead and a small parking lot. The trail is really just an old cow road complete with cows still there. We went when the cows had calves, so they were a bit territorial and nervous when passing by them. Witnessed one overly nervous hiker get chased by a protective mama. There are a couple different trails to take, one of which goes down to the bottom of Morrison canyon. Its a pretty easy hike but there is still elevation involved.

Love this park. Can be hot during summer as there isnt much shade. But going in the early mornings, or late evening is perfect. Not much traffic, thank goodness. Just a small park with excellent views. Take my pups here. And they have a clean bathroom. Yes clean bathroom. Be kind dont trash the area. Pick up after your pets. Be respectful.

We visited on a crystal clear Sunday afternoon and the view was fantastic - at the top of the trail overlooking the town of Niles, we could see all the way to SF and Marin county and all around The Bay. The hills are now a healthy green and plenty of cattle out and about. We also saw several raptors hunting. We hiked about 4 miles total and the trails are wide and not too steep. I will definitely head back to this spot to see how it changes with the seasons and time of day. I dont know when or if there are busy times but the parking lot is not too large - there were only 2 spots left when we arrived around 3 and none when we returned. They do have 2 handicapped spots and a toilet in case you were wondering.

A truly wonderful place to go, especially at sunset. The grouping of rocks is a really special place that resonates with strange history. Keep your eyes out for the endemic Yellow Billed Magpie. I’ve seen them both near the parking lot and further up the hill where you pass through the gate. You’ll see them on fence posts or foraging in the grass. They tend to hang out in a group and are quite chatty. If you manage to spot them, do yourself a favor and watch them for a moment. Quality entertainment ️

Still here while writing this and pretty sure Ill be kicking myself for years to come for not coming here sooner. Been hiking in San Jose hills, Hayward Hills, Livermore, and other places, but never Fremont. Usually stick to Coyote Hills Regional Park and Don Edwards Wildlife Refuge. Spectacular views, a nice hike, and cows.

This place is amazing, great, and definitely offers a new, recently-opened, experience. The park offers a great view from above, allowing anyone to see all the way to the the tip of the peninsula, on a cloudy day, anyways, from the amazing provided viewing area. In addition, the park has a new, recently built bathroom, as well as a decently-sized expanded parking lot. The trails are relatively narrow and short, compared to other parks, but still offer hikers, bikers, and riders a scenic view of the South Bay, Niles Canyon, and potential view of the Sunol Town Area. The trail also leads the explorers through a small forest, through the hills, past ponds and streams, and past dense fields of grass. Beware though, since the park is relatively new you may encounter snakes, through they seem to be afraid of people, as theyre really small. However, you may meet other interesting creatures such as ground squirrels, lizards, and even potentially turkeys and deer. In addition, be aware of the approaching road to the park from Morrison Canyon Road, as it is only a one lane paved alley, shared by two way traffic, hikers, and bikers. Although it has turnabouts, it is highly suggested to approach from Highway 680, where there is a mostly two laned bidirectional road. Besides that, this is definitely an amazing place to check out for riding, hiking, nature watching, and photography!

Beautiful view which would be even more beautiful during fall or spring. The area to use seemed pretty small. It looked like there was a walking path but not sure. Restroom was a small single person permanent structure, but theres no sink to wash with. There is however a running faucet down by the one picnic table. Would be nice if there were more picnic tables as well. Road to get there is pretty bumpy so take it slow.

Good place to get a quick hike in youre in a hurry. The hike is moderate in difficulty, has little shade, so make sure to have ample water on hot days. I recommend this hike in the early morning. The view from the Plateau gives you a nice view of Fremont, the Bay, and even Mission Peak. Be careful and watch out for a lot of cows, but they are relatively chill.

One passes through Pine trees and steep roads to reach this place. People get surprised to see this location amidst the busy San Jose township. We also saw a lot of horses on the way. At the site, we saw a number of cows and buffaloes. In a true sense, it is not a park! There are no eating joints. But it is Good for Cycling & trekking! One can carry packed food to eat, if hungry after a long trek. It has good viewpoints. If you are a local, you can easily identify different localities including SFO and SF. One can take the family for a day out!

Nice new park. The view must be super on a clear day. Encountering the free range cattle is always a little unsettling. I have found moving slowly while speaking softly and not making eye contact seems to work. Picked a good day to go, it was not too hot. I am sure it can be a very hot hike.

Nice close hike that gives you a very different perspective of the city of Fremont. It is a quick climb to the peak and close up view to Quarry Lakes and Lake Elizabeth has you wondering where other landmarks are in the city. It is a relatively short hike (less than 4 miles if you take the loop on the cattle trail) and will be fully exposed. Best time to hike would be during the cool morning or just before dusk.
