Great place for hiking. Seems pretty safe but keep your dog on a leash because there are some items on the ground that a dog should not be eating like dead animal carcasses.

Timberland park on the Natchez trace is a wonderful place to hike. No boots needed and semi easy trails are well marked. Beautiful canopy of forest surrounds these trails and would be a welcome respite on a warm summer day.

Went for a Sunday drive and stopped by for a pit stop. The facility is beautiful and inviting with ADA access. There are short ADA trails and longer circuits for a more challenging hike through the woods. There are even walking sticks to borrow if you need one. Definately worth the stop. Great venue for a shorter hike — well groomed trails. Clean bathrooms in the Visitors Center — helpful hosts/guides. Easy to find nine miles from Historic Downtown Franklin. Several trees are marked with descriptions and common names. The three to four different trails have route markers or blazes to keep you on track.Bonus — ADA friendly trail adjacent to picnic area.

A great place to hike or just sit by the fire. Three miles of trail on the park proper with almost three more that run on to an adjacent property owners land. The staff is amazing! They also offer monthly programs that are mostly free to the public, so thats a great service that they offer as well. This is truly a hidden gem of a park right near Franklin.

A beautiful, clean, and friendly spot to hike on the Natchez Trace. The welcome center is staffed, has some historical artifacts, nature identification books, a fireplace, hiking sticks you can borrow, and clean restrooms. The trails are well marked and there are a variety of lengths and skill levels. Young children can easily hike here, but the trails with the hills make it more challenging for the adults.

Its a nice park to stop by while on the Natchez Trace Parkway. Surprisingly small (round trip trails that add up to a little less than a mile total), but the foliage is very beautiful in the fall. The visitor center is really nice too along with the people who work there. Three stars because I wouldnt go out of my way to visit it, but if you are in the area, I would recommend a stop.
