Such a nice area to walk around. Very dog friendly and the view is amazing. A walk to the river below is fairly easy, more so going down then up but beautiful.

It brings you real close to history when you look at trenches and mounds that were dug by hand 150 plus years ago. Ramps and wooden walkways make it convenient and help to preserve the site. There are plaques in various locations that explain what happened.

So beautiful and fun! Had no idea it connected to Pinkerton Park-- it was a perfect nature walk for our toddler-- spent about 1.5 hours leisurely walking around :)

Lived in Franklin for 10 years, and this was the first time at the historic site, and neighboring park. Great walking paths with historical markers with civil way information, and the neighboring park has a great walking path that connects by a bridge to downtown Franklin.

Beautiful landscape. A lot of natural vegetation so the city did a good job of properly maintaining! Overlook spot of Pinkerton Park, and Downtown Franklin. 3 benches at good spots to relax. Family friendly.A connected trail to the park and the train tracts that overpass the river. (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)Good for exploring, discovering history, and just having fun

Pretty enough park, although the trails surrounding it are very overgrown and the driveway to the park is poorly maintained gravel. Id reccomend parking at the nearby Pinkerton (A far nicer park) and taking the short walk up to this smaller park to see it.

As a person that enjoyed history I truly appreciate the fact that this fort has been preserve for years to come. A must see when in Franklin. Now its not gated or managed like other well known battle sites which to me makes even better. The trenches well preserve sharpshooter holes and so Sally ports in Canon bunkers are still visible.First you should read about the battle. Print out a map of the layout of the old fort. Please stay on the boardwalk provided by the parks department. Then image yourself there during the battle.Thank you to those that maintain this fort.

Beautiful earthworks with elevated walkways and interpretive signage around the bluff. Two ways to get there; up the trail and fairly steep steps from Pinkerton Park or access from Liberty Pike entrance.Great views during late fall and winter when the leaves are off the trees. During the spring and summer, bring a book, hang a hammock and enjoy a quick escape close to the heart of downtown Franklin.

Neat Civil War fort site. A bunch of signs explaining the history of the place and where you are in the layout of the fort. The fort isnt there, but you can still see the earthwork outlines of it and the trenches, which is pretty cool.

It was ok. Not much to see other than some signs to read about the history of the former fortification, the earthen berm and a peek at the river. Its probably a bit more scenic in the summer when it greens up. It does connect to Pinkerton Park for those wanting a longer walk or a place for kids to play.

Sweet, shaded historical park; great for a walk or run, some boardwalks, some trails, overlooks the Harpeth River. Plaques tell the story of what happened here during the Civil War; let us not forget the sacrifices of those who came before us.
