Very nice place and a lot of Johnson County history. Brought back many memories from my younger years!

This museum is a gem. The exhibits are interesting for older kids and adults. Those with younger kids may want to wait til theres an event being held, such as the visit with Santa we attended with our toddler. He really enjoyed the decorated trees surrounding the queue to see Santa, but visiting him and Mrs. Claus was the highlight. Will definitely be going back.

They have great activities (we made Valentines last week, all free). The museum is free to tour also. Its not very big, but interesting, nostalgic & friendly staff. Worth the visit - my 9-yr-old granddaughter loved it. In the heart of downtown Franklin.

The museum had a great variety of things from local county places and what they used to look like and their importance. The people were very helpful and they had a quite a few guides and pamphlets telling about the county and for a self guided walking or driving your.

Im not much of a history buff but it was clean and air conditioned. A nice change if pace

In comparison with other county museums, this was too small for my 5 stars. I did like the 1950s displays.

I love this place! The staff are always so helpful and friendly. It is free to go in but they appreciate donations if you have it, but they never will ask you for it. They have a donation box in the lobby. Downstairs they have a genealogy department with computers for you to do free research. It includes more than that though. They have lots of local history books down there. Shelves full!!!! They always have free events for the public! If you havent been you should go check it out! This is one of my favorite places to visit in Franklin.

Lots of useful information for local records. Also some are arranged by house number. Its located in the basement and free to look around. (Its ran by volunteers so I usually drop a few dollars in the donation box when I go in, not required.)

The Johnson County Museum of History is free to the public, and was started in 1931 in a room in the southwest corner of the courthouse. In 1991 the museum was moved to its current location at 135 North Main Street. In the fall, the annual Heritage Day gives children and adults the chance to see historic re-enactors from both Pioneer and Civil War times, as well as historic crafts and games.

The kiddos and dad had a great time looking at the exhibits and visiting Santa.

For a very small museum they had a lot of interesting things nicely displayed.

I had a wonderful time listening to The Voices. And the Christmas tree displays upstairs are absolutely wonderful.

Interesting beautiful museum , just need more items and history about everything of Johnson county.

Curator David was super helpful.

Small museum but good time killer for an half hour to hour

Always a staff willing to help and be friendly .Great place to hang out and do research .Ever-changing exhibits .Informational and entertaining programs . Check it out ! Keeps on getting better and better .
