This is a Corps of Engineers park so it is very minimally maintained. The restrooms facilities are rustic and out of date. The camping and picnic areas are simplistic and well worn. It is a quiet but sparsely cared for area.
The city has done an amazing job on the up keep. Such a beautiful place to spend time with friends and family. The fishing is also a plus ️
Nice part of Lake Benbrook. Plenty of places to launch a kayak and places to fish on the banks. Has a beach area for swimming and lots of picnic locations. Also the roads make for great cycling and, if there early in the morning or late in the evening, there are deer to see. While there were a few people fishing or boating, the park was not crowded. This park closes at 9 pm. Make sure you have a fishing license in this park if you choose to fish.
Park is a lot better since you can not camp there. Best time to go is at dawn or dusk. Nice watching the deer come out to eat. Its really a 5 star park, I just dont want a bunch of people stomping all over my preferred fishing grounds.
Park has several places to fish and lots of nice views of the lake. Lots of the infrastructure has seen its better days, but still not a bad place to visit.
Nice views of the lake. Places to swim or wade. Fire pits to make Smores. This day there was a steady breeze coming off the lake...very comfortable.
No sandy beaches, only rocks. Bring sturdy water shoes or tennis shoes. Free to enter until October.
We were pleasantly surprised at how clean the park was... its the perfect place to get our dog out for a relaxing walk.
Little dirty, old stuff. Kids had fun.Smashed glass in the nearby pavilion.
Went with my 13 year old son and our dog. Lady at the gate was very sweet and let us know that the swimming areas were closed due to flooding. We had a great time driving and walking around taking pictures and skipping rocks. Everything was wonderful until I saw a man in a truck drive up to my car, and got out and was writing my plate number down. We walked over to him and asked if there was a problem. He was very rude and hateful. He told me my car was blocking the barricades. It was not. I parked my car off to the side of them. He said his wife clearly stated that we were not to go to the swimming area and I was in violation. I explained to him that we were just walking and taking pictures. He then said that my dog was not on a leash. Party correct. She was not on a leash while we were by the water. As soon as I saw someone drive up I put her on the leash. She’s very obedient when we are out however I know there is a leash law. That I was in violation of but it was only when no one was around. My bad. He was so rude about us being there. He was scaring my son. There were so many people in other areas that were drinking, being loud and obnoxious but he chose to pick on the mother and son. How big of him. I hope his day got better. He was obviously struggling with issues.
Thank you to the park ranger for recommending this park. Down to one boat ramp, not crowded for a Saturday. Hope to be back soon.
I love this place. Its close. Plenty of places to play. And great to let loose enjoy a beer water and sun
This place is awesome for your family to come to for swimming.
Great place to swim just wear water shoes its a little rocky
Great place to fish and enjoy some sun! Bank fishing can get pretty crowded in places.
Ive been to this location many times. The Park is open and there is no entry fee for the time due to the covid-19 outbreak. But no one is cleaning the park there are no trash can anywhere onlu the trash can lids are left. There are only go to parties with no way to wash your or sanitizer do this is during an outbreak! Please do something about this problem is unsanitary! Why not we open the regular restaurants, at least they have sinks for washing your hands. And thank you for waiving the entrance fee covid-19 outbreak.
Great place to put your boat out and fish.....
Its a great spot for kayaking and fishing and other water sports
Showers were cold water only . someone left and locked the door with hot water runningI probably wont go back ever again and I did go a lot.
Beautiful clean beach lake with plenty of shade, clean restrooms, friendly people, pets, easy to grill.. going back!
100% Legit.... But better follow the rules, they super strict here
I fell madly in love while staying there
Nice not overly crowded when I was there.
Day use only and what is there is not very well maintained. I added a star bc its free.
My family and I loves this park !! Always chill and a good time.
So disappointed, cause trying to go fishing and there are people swimming. I thought there were designated swim areas.
Stayed at Holiday Park in a tent bathrooms were clean and park was free from alot of noise
Seems like a good spot to launch boats. Camping will soon be no longer offered. No hiking trails.
Great beach to sit, relax, and enjoy the water.
It was nice but very rocky at the bottom of the water
Love it, family hang out is great, kids friendly
Its a great place to start with but I found poop in the water which was disgusting but I will go again because it is a fun place to bring your child but that experience was disgusting.
Great for fishing and kayaking!
Very nice clean area, family barbecue
Great place for fun and swimming
Good place to go.
Mustang park was a nice breath of fresh air. It cost 5$ per car to get in. I would definitely reccomend a trip here especially if you own a boat or jet ski. 1 con however is as far I can tell they dont have any sandy beaches, there rocky beaches. but all and all a great place to go for family fun in the sun.
Really like this place.
Really great place to take the Fam for the weekend!
Nice and peaceful, especially during the week.
Awesome park love the lake
Nice area.
Flooded. Still fished. Fire ants floating on the top water. The gates to the point and lower ramps are closed due to lake level . New park rules: no overnight camping allowed as of April 1st.
Nice to go by with the family and relax.
Awesome place, quite and relaxing
Nice close to home place you can camp out till April 1st they are changing it to day use only no camping
Nice place for family & friends
Love this place. It is always clean and we have a good time while there.
It is always a great place to go if you have nothing to do
Nice peaceful clean
Nice penisula to look for shorebirds. Picnic tables/ campsites right near the lake shore. Shower houses conveniently located. Several places to let in the lake and then park your truck and trailer. Also, you can fish from thr shoreline. Great lake breeze in the summer. Go for the day or several!
Had Easter hunt here with granddaughter, wish I would have known in advance they have so much room available I would have brought my RV, there was Several out there as large as mine, anyhow brought grill and such, s spent several hours out there today and we had a blast.
Very nice place to camp water is fresh definitly going back
Wish they still let you camp there
I love it here.. Kool people hang out, never to loud and quite after 10 pm!
For primitive camping, you cannot beat the scenery and experience of being that close to Benbrook Lake. The park is situated right in the middle of the Lake, so you almost get a 360 view of it. Fishing, boating, camping, it’s all available and worth it. My family of 7 had a great time camping two nights there, and we will be back.
Nice park for camping. Costs $5 though.
I will most likely give every park by the lake a 5star,there is restrooms boatramp nice little beach to swim in.rv and tent camp sites and its pretty spacious.
Many trees have fallen...new housing development close to park...beach access closed againOther than that nice getaway when one needs to recharge their own batteries...so to speak
Small, but beautiful. Great river and lake shore fishing.
Me and my boyfriend camped here for our one year anniversary. It was fairly quiet but VERY hot. The few trees around provided shade and we grilled on our fire pit. My Bf used to camp here regularly on his own and has loved it for years.
Peaceful beautiful.. make sure you look for Texas shaped rocks! Unique to this location as far as I know!
It was nice. Somewhat clean. I walked around and filled up 2 grocery bags full of trash. Beer bottles busted up as well as cans and water bottles. So I just cleaned it up and threw the trash away. Restrooms were clean. But today was too windy to fish.
Loved it!
Beautiful
I love this park. Its a great spot for camping, fishing, boating and water crafts. They have covered an uncovered picnic areas BBQ pits and restrooms with showers. Great place for family gatherings on beautiful Benbrook Lake
Great spot, good lake, good crappie fishing.
Fun fun fun
Grass wasnt cut and the swim area was full of weeds. Disappointed I even spent my money to get in...
I have been here many times and never had a bad time once. There are boat launch facilities and swimming beaches and camping grounds. Its an all around experience for all.
Beautiful
Nice park not too many people hanging out there. Plenty of parking. Peaches arent the greatest suggest water shoes. But the privacy is worth less sand on the beach. More peace and quiet for my relaxing time.
Beautiful lake
Love it
Always crowded and drunk people everywhere. Bathroom is disgusting.
The primitive camping is like a free for all which is good and bad. You can go where ever you find a spot but so can others so get here early. There isnt water at any sites but there are showers and I found an outlet in the bathroom The gate attendant is great. Ill be back!
AWESOME place for peaceful self time OR family time!!
Fyi, still closed as of July 9th.
Great place to relax
Seems like a great place for boating or riding a seadoo*, but the swimming beach isnt that great. Its right next to the RC plane field and thats pretty kool but makes it not a place to just relax either. Well keep looking!
The park rangers here are top notch. Strictly by the book but top notch. Just keep your vehicle out of the river...
Go early, the beach front fills up pretty fast, small entrance fee.
Swim, fish, boat, tube, grill out! Great family fun or on your own. 5 dollars per car cash only on the weekend
Great place to camp n get outdoors
Loved spending time with family
The park was nice, the scenery is amazing, but it will cost you to get in. Im simply not a fan of these pay to park lakes.
Love it
