UPDATE: We received a phone call by Beth within a few days of this review being posted. She apologized for our daughters experience and offered us a refund, which we have accepted. We were then sent a follow-up email by their executive producer, who also apologized and explained the steps they have taken to ensure that a similar incident does not happen again. As she said, summer camps should be fun first and foremost.*************Our family is new to the area, and we have not attended a performance at Stage West. When looking for a fun summer camp for our elementary-school daughter, their musical theatre camp sounded like it might be a fun experience. Unfortunately, the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic forced Stage West to cancel the summer camp and move all of the kids into one virtual camp that focused on audition techniques for musical theatre. We were hesitant on the virtual camp, but we decided to go with it when our daughter begged us to attend. Like many kids, she has missed out on a lot of fun experiences during the pandemic.Unfortunately, the summer camp was not a fun experience for our daughter nor some of the other young girls who attended. The camp was led by two people, Beth and David. Beth was perfectly nice, but David apparently believed that the fun summer camp was a professional Broadway audition class, which is not at all what we signed up for. He berated the young girls, focusing mostly on their negatives, throughout the three days. What was supposed to be a fun experience had our daughter literally in a crying meltdown just because of his meanness. We listened in almost the entire time each day, and we overheard him repeatedly criticize one of the older girls for her voice. For the finale, in what was supposed to a fun ending, they recorded the girls doing some of what they learned. During the recording, David went on a rant about how the girls need to take voice lessons, indirectly calling their voices horrible. If you are looking for a realistic experience similar to an American Idol audition because you expect your young child to be the next Broadway or Hollywood celebrity, this might be for you. If you are looking for a fun experience for your child, Stage West is not it. Our family has been involved in theatre since before we starting having children, but we will not be back to Stage West.

I attended the play, *Holmes & Watson* tonight at Stage West. I would highly recommend this play. The acting was compelling and the story kept me literally and figuratively on the edge of my seat. The story and the characterization were in perfect keeping with the original Sir Arthur Conan Doyle stories. I was enthralled with the 19th Century tone, clothing, and manners. Everything about the production was high quality. The theater is small and intimate. There are no bad seats. I sat in the center in the second row from the back and I was close to the action and could see and hear everything perfectly. The seats were comfortable with lots of leg room (I am 61).I got all that I paid for with this performance.

Difficulty hearing and understanding the dialogue. Fake accent and lack of stage voice rather than conversational. Worst was when dialogue was spoken with actors back to the audience!! I admit to some hearing loss, but judging from the audience reaction around me, I was not the only one having a problem.

Most plays are excellent and the actors are top notch. I try to see every production because they do lesser known plays that make me think. Small intimate setting with only a couple hundred seats or so. There is not a bad seat in the house. Cafe desserts are excellent and they have alcohol. Fair pricing with half off discount if youre under 30.

Theater seats are cushioned and very comfortable, it was a little cold in there though, regardless the food and service from their Cafe was excellent, also big props for all the improvements to be more environmentally friendly.

I did my first professional show at this theatre and loved it! I ended up getting cast there again and turned down a big theatre in Dallas just to be back at Stage West. As soon as I met the wonderful people there and experienced the quality of their food and performances, I was truly impressed. This place ROCKS. It is perfect for a date night; you can eat and drink before the show and even bring your beer or wine into the theatre (which was totally awesome because they have cup holders). You have to experience it for yourself and youll be hooked.

My son & I traveled to Ft. Worth in July to see Vanya, Sonja, Masha & Spike & it was so funny & well acted. And Spike was quite buffed & sexy. The food was very good too. Its the second play weve seen there & have enjoyed both very much. We also visited the Kimbell Art Museum which was a wonderful experience.

My first experience at Stage West was their production of The Heir Apparent. I was very pleased. Great cast, perfectly sized theater, good sight-line. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We didnt dine at the theater, but we did have wine before the performance and dessert at intermission. Overall, an excellent experience.

I went there yesterday on a solo date and as per usual, everything was great. From my server to my food to the movie (London Has Fallen) I had a great time. For dinner, I chose the boneless buffalo wings, they come with fries and ranch and ketchup. I had a Coke to drink and a small popcorn with butter. Mmmm.

This play was both funny and spiritual. It taught me to look at things in a light way while maintaining the spirituality of knowing that Jesus died for all of us and that we are not our own. Through His Son, God bought us at a very high price.

We were so impressed! Unfortunately, we had a family gathering to attend to (completely are fault due to scheduling). We are so upset we had to leave during intermission. We have already made plans to see the play again. The actors were fabulous and hilarious! Fantastic show! We applaude everyone involved in the Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike play! Very impressed! Spike is gorgeous! :)

The best theatre - acting, directing, crew ... the best plays - comedies, dramas, new works ... the best food - try the café before a show, or for itself ... the best people. The company of creative people that run this magnificent theatre are as genuine, and warm, as they are talented. Ive attended almost every show in the last seven-plus years. This is my theatre home, and it can easily be yours. Take a chance on something different, and you will only be sorry you waited so long.NOTE! You can help Stage West for zero money dollars - just a few clicks of a mouse! Link your Kroger (or other participating) loyalty card to Stage West! And renew that link every year (around April for Kroger)!

Professional, challenging, and breathing theatre that respects the audiences intellect. That doesnt mean they dont know how to have fun.If you havent discovered this gem of a company after 33 years, WTF is wrong with you, yo?Jerry Russell has created a lasting legacy for the folks in Fort Worth to luxuriate in. Jim Covault and Dana Shultes picked up the baton and didnt miss a stride in propelling his vision into 2015. This company has presented everything from the classics to regional premiers of some of the most exciting productions in the theatrical canon. And, almost every actor from Fort Worth that youve seen go national has trod these boards as a rite of passage.Just go.You can thank me later.

This was the worst play Ive ever seen at Stage West. It was the humor of prepubescent boys sniggering about their discovery of sex. I was embarrassed for Mr. Cleveland who substituted shouting for acting.
