As someone who’s been a recurring patron of this theater for over nine years, I’ve gotta say that I’m extremely disappointed in my latest (and last) visit to the Autonation Imax theater. I have scene every Christopher Nolan film here since 2012. Despite purchasing a ticket to see Tenet weeks prior to the showing, I received a call from the theater, on the day of, informing me that due to COVID-19 all seats will be assigned by the theater. It turns out that they handed out seats based on last names rather than order of purchase, meaning that I got stuck with the seat closest to the theater despite being very early in purchasing my tickets. When I asked if there was anything I could do to get a better seat, the employee on the phone recommended switching to another showtime, but said that even then he couldn’t guarantee that I wouldn’t end up with the same seat. I told him that I needed to decide and that I’d call back in 30 minutes. As it turns out, the theater’s automated phone system is absolutely horrendous and after following all of the machine prompts, the call hung up, leaving me unable to change my showtime. I ended up having to sit in the first row, right next to the speakers, and was unable to understand any dialogue whatsoever whenever there was any music playing in the film. On top of that, my neck now hurts from having to stare straight up in order to see anything. I have been excited to see this film since the very day it was announced and this is, by far, one of the worst theater experiences I have ever had in my life. It’s a shame as I was eager to support one of the few remaining theaters that still played 70mm film.

We had the opportunity to bring my children to watch Frozen 2, the sound and the screen quality was amazing. The price per person was average same as any IMAX theater. The only thing that I didn’t like was that we purchased popcorn and it was not fresh, from the taste and texture I realized immediately that they were made many hours ago.

A++ experience seeing Tenet on 70mm IMAX film. The owners of this IMAX truly care about the medium and it shows. Super friendly employees, solid COVID guidelines, and an insanely immersive experience. Cant ask for more. Worth the trip.

This place is nice and such beauty to enjoy... From crystals to other mediums for your enjoyment before or after the movie to the calm and quiet adult setting its my favorite theater so far.

Great venue! It seems like it should update its exterior. There attractions are fun and interactive. I look forward to watching Blockbuster movies on the IMAX in 3d. My children come here on field trips all the time. They new otter experience is top notch!

Great theater. Great seating. Great sound. Great 3D. Why only 3 stars? Very limited parking. Very limited concession stand. No staff inside the theater only the lobby. Difficult exit strategy within theater.

Nice theater with good sound and picture quality. Remember to pick a raw a little far from the screen if you want to see a movie in 3D. They also have alligator, turtles and other animal downstairs.

Great place to view blockbuster movies. One of only a few IMAX 3D theaters in Florida. I felt the legroom was somewhat limited but once the movie started I essentially forgot about that.

This is the largest 3D IMAX theater in South Florida!!! We came from across the state just to see Jurassic Park and it was amazing! The concession stand workers were great and everybody was friendly especially the guy who announced that he wasnt able to watch the movie until he had a day off on Sunday

My own experience, as the survey says, was so bad I had to walk out after ten minutes of being tortured by an unbearable volume. There was just one other couple in there and they moved as far back as possible. When we walked out the ticket guy kindly asked if we wanted earplugs (?? Then whats the point?).. no thanks, just our money back, which they gave back no problem. But really? My heart was beating and our ears were ringing even after we took a walk before getting into the car. If you all want to have hearing by the time you watch a couple of these movies, dont go to these imax places or your natural sound system will disintegrate.

Best theater in South Florida period. If youre serious about being a video and audiophile and are in it for the best picture and sound. Then this is your place. Forget the small screens and sounds with your butlers and recliners. This is grab your popcorn and be ready to be part of the movie. Were talking a 6 story screen with IMAX lasers and 52,000 watts of sounds!!! True IMAX dimensions and specs. Any other theater in south Florida claiming to have IMAX screens are false advertising, they dont comply to the IMAX standards. You need to understand that this is the only true IMAX screen available to us. If you choose to give it a shot I recommend trying to get seats in the middle towards the back or end. Anything closer and youll literally be turning your head from one side of the screen to the other trying to watch certain scenes. Thats how big it is. I dont recommend bringing any new born babies without ear muffs. They also sell priority tickets for a little more money that will let you in 30min before, for those that really want good seats. Also if you buy the first showing youll get to go into the museum for free after the movie.

So much fun to see a movie like Aquaman here. The sound, the screen size, and the laser projector make a great viewing experience. I thought this was really reasonably priced for what it is. That said, the exit from the screening room was kind of awkward with a descent of several staircases that felt like the fire exit. Ladies might want to avoid high heels.

Very disappointing. The seats are a little small and uncomfortable, no recline.The sound was mediocre at best. Action scenes; rockets taking off and explosions lacked the visceral rumbling in your body you expect.The screen seemed a little off kilter, almost distorted. I’ve been to newer, standard size theaters that blew this iMax away.The positive is the Children’s Museum. Quite diverse with a small aquarium area. Perfect for your little ones.

Next time we go to a movie here, Im bringing my own popcorn from home!Its a great theater but it is absurd that, in my experience, the odds of being able to buy popcorn are 50% at best. We were told this weekend that it would be a 20 to 30 minute wait, which would mean having to leave the movie.Followup/reply to owner: Thats great news and an extremely gracious offer. But Ill gladly pay as I trust it will support MODS either directly or indirectly :-) Thank you for the response. Just hoping that not too many other people try to claim it in my name lol.

This place is huge and image/sound ... amazing.

Best place in the world to experience a movie. Every seat is a good one. Every time I go they have made some improvement with picture or sound. Always upgrading.Best part is that I live 1.5 miles away!

Amazing picture and sound. It is everything you could want or expect. Went to see Endgame, and you feel the sound, and even though it was not the 3D (which they do offer), the Dual 4K Laser projectors make the pictorrbpop off the screen. Highly recommend

I haven’t been inside the IMAX theater yet but i may see Wonder Woman 1984 on the early Thursday night screening with my mom but chances are i may go to SilverSpot Cinema or AMC Dine In but if i want to sacrifice comfort well i am coming to Autonation. I was gonna come here for Godzilla King Of The Monsters but i went for RPX instead(Regret 100). I might also see Godzilla VS Kong in the IMAX theater or D-Box(3D or 2D). Hope the reviews are promising as they seem. See you June 4 or so.

Honestly I had No idea a huge franchise can made a mistake like what they did today!Rise of the Skywalker, 16:55 first they start the movie in 3D, of course many people was start complaining right away, and after a few minutes they turned off, switched to 2D. But the picture quality was awful. I was expecting the same 4K razer sharp pictures as always, but this was annoyingly blurry, like when you watch on YouTube a 480p resolution video.It was ruined completely the movie for me! It was in enjoyable.The surround sound gave earrape literally, but that will not compensate the quality on the screen!Very disappointed! They staff can’t see how bad the pictures quality is behind those huge projectors??

Clean theater w/ comfortable stadium seats. Huge screen and amazing surround sound speaker system which immerses you into whatever youre watching. Military/veterans discounts available.

Always a great place to watch a blockbuster! The prices of popcorn and drinks are not as expensive as regular movie theater. They also offer a military discount. Thank you for that.

Having to Pay all this money for movie tickets, the popcorn they offer is old and stale the sign says they have hot dogs but when asked for it they don’t have any. I WOULDNT RECOMEND wasting your money! -1 star

Wow. Museum of Discovery and Science. First time going there a lot going on from kids activities to introducing Discover After Dark for adults. From sea life to space life very educational for both youth and adults. There is an IMAX theater. Showing Hollywood movies and documentaries. 2 level museum with amazing attractions. My favorite was seeing the otters swim. So relaxing and calming to see.

Great screen (Largest in South Florida) and sound system. The best images come from IMAX native films, especially when shot and viewed in 3D, but even Avengers: Endgame was quite good in 3D. The best film Ive seen was an underwater documentary that was in extraordinary 3D.

The place was fun j got to play with turtles and the IMAX theater is so well I got popcorn and everything

This was my first time at any IMAX theater my husband (Angel Roque Ramos) decided to take me and went above and beyond and got the VIP tickets with the early entrance and all this other stuff bought the tickets and everything purchased I believe on the phone or on the Internet ahead of time. Days before he kept telling me of all the behind the scenes footage of how its all been redone since the last time he had been there. So was thoroughly excited as I love the movies like a stripper likes 20.00 dollar Bills and a fat kid loves Cake.We got there at the box office around 4:02 to 4:05 p.m. on Sunday August 13th 2017(08/13/2017).Not sure exactly what happened but for some reason the Young Man could not find the tickets in the system. My husband gave him a confirmation number that he had written down give him his drivers license(DL) gave him another number I believe from the Internet or something like that with the confirmation of the purchase. He repeated this process of giving these 3-4 pieces if information a few times. The young man got up left and then came back still nothing. Not till he enlisted the assistance of the young lady beside him I believe. From what I could see as I was standing off to the side beside my husband who I could see was pissed but held it together as he could see the guy was trying. We both work in the industry and know what it is to be on the other side of the counter and the Young man was not being rude. However after the young lady beside him helped figure out our dilema and showed him where to look to find the tickets in the system. While the Mic was still to his mouth he started explaining to her that he didnt know Thats where they are to look now or a suggestion of a change in procedure. As he realize he was speaking into the Mic quickly moved it away and finished explaining to the lady and then finished helping us.Then once more he asked for the DL and then printed it off gave it to us with an apology. Now the mood from excitement has changed to disappointment and me trying to passify my other half. By the time we left the box office we had only enough time to walk straight to the line and moments later go inside to find our seats.This ordeal took us a bit of part of 20 minutes to be able to get everything sorted out, while wasted time standing there watching people come and pay the regular price quickly get a ticket and leave. We didnt even have time to go and purchase concessions or whatever else that they would have liked in preparation or an anticipation for the movie. After we were seated my husband then left by himself to go buy food and drinks and then struggle as he figured out how to bring it all back into the theater as we both could not leave for fear of losing our seats? I mean what the point of being proactive and purchasing ahead of time and paying extra if your system is not easy for your staff to figure out.If it is easy to figure out then there in lacks an opportunity(ies) for training your staff OFF OUR time and experience. Not Fair.SIDE NOTE: THEATER WAS CLEAN, CORRECT TEMP AND AMAZING MOVIE, SOUND AND FACILITIES, Some thing to consider trying again minus the advance payment and VIP Experience.

This is the best place to watch the big special effects movies. The staff is very nice and the screen and sound are unmatched. However, there are no numbered seats, so its a free for all, even if you are early for your screening.

Now your screen and sound is why we come. Thanks for years of awesome entertainment. That being said, your popcorn machine broke down for Endgame. Time to get a full concession stand guys. Also, your line lanes are too wide and people try to work their ways up and it causes static. You already know that getting a good spot is important. Thats why you have the member lines. But I see a potential fight breaking out if the line thing continues. Invest some that MCU money and get that stand going!!!!

Great place to watch action movies. The screen is very big but what makes it is the sound. Incredible sound system. Only thing really missing for the great movie experience is snack bar. They have one, but it is limited.

Great Theatre. Just area seemed unsafe and no clear indication of parking. The spot we decided to park we asked the ticket agent she advised us to make sure be safe walking back to our car. Maybe earlier in the day is better but the evening it seemed unsafe.

This theater has the biggest screen Ive ever seen. The seats are pretty comfortable, they could honestly be a little better. The sound system in this place amazing, you can actually feel your insides vibrating from the bass. The staff here are really friendly and helpful, they told me all the information I needed. The food and drinks they sell at the concession stands look very tasty although, I didnt see the prices, so they could be very expensive. If youre a serious movie goer and want the best possible motion picture experience, you should definitely check this place out.

Movie experience was great. At the concession stand the plastic piece of the popcorn machine fell on the ground. The worker picked it back up and put it on the machine without washing or sanitizing it. I will make sure to eat prepackaged things only.

They really need to find a better way to organize their lines at the IMAX theater, terrible. Unless you purchased a VIP ticket in advance.. My brother and I even showed up almost two hours early for the film, that didnt help at all.. They should do like other theaters and allow people to purchase their seats in advance! No point waiting in line, people just move around and end up in front of you, I wont be returning for quite some time..

Large imax screen but normal seating crammed way too close to the screen, ensuring neck pain for everyone equally. Concessions are a mess, they run out of popcorn and if you ask for salt they just say no. Weird.

The best place to watch a movie. Only drawback is no free parking. It was $15 to park in garage. Add that to the price of movie it cost us $45 for 2 watch a movie. Friendly ushers.

The ONLY IMAX EXPERIENCE in Florida! I have been to alot of movie theaters and forget about all the other IMAX experience (Regals RPX, Cinemark XD, etc) this is the real deal! Its definitely the biggest screen Ive ever encountered in the 20+ theaters Ive been to. Really immersive when you snag the middle aisle seats. Its fitting since its in a science museum. Sound is also a big upgrade! Chairs are nice i dont understand the people who are complaining about them. They are leather chairs that recline a bit when you sit in them. Sure they arent exactly the best compared to Cinepolis in Jupiter or Silverspot in coconut creek (those are nice wide plush leather almost couch like seats) but they definitely arent the worst by a long stretch (AMC seats in West Palm are cloth and you can see every stain from the years of abuse) they are good and thats fine with me. Concession stand is very basic given the fact its a museum first and they only show one movie at a time so i understand. Price for a Popcorn is $4.50 so thats a plus! I went to see the JOKER and JESUS IS KING and both times was blown away by the picture and sound. The price of admission is $15 so i think that REALLY fair for the experience you are getting! At the end of the day this place may not have the best chairs or food options but the screen and audio is unmatched anywhere in Florida!

Went to the sleep over and watched Frozen 2. Everything was beyond expectation. Will look for more dates like this with my kids.

It was a great experience watching Aladdin on such a BIG screen. I could only imagine how the action and horror movies would be on this. It makes you feel like your in the movie.

The digital laser projection IMAX screen is amazing. Sound is very powerful and great for action movies. A must if you are wanting to see your favorite film in a nice theatre. No reclining seats, but they are very comfortable. Prices could be more competitive however the quality does justify the extra few dollars.

We are from Pa didnt have a clue where to park the bike. Security allowed us to park on the side of building thank you for that. The movie First Man was fantastic. The theater was awesome. Too bad some people just cannot stay off their phones tho. Seriously where do you park??????

We have been coming to this theater for over 10 years, we have literally always brought our service animal which is an emotional support dog. She’s extremely well behaved and never barks in large crowds because she’s use to it. Tonight we were turned away by apparent new managers due to “ a problem that happened with another dog”.I do not consider this courteous, given our history coming here with the same animal. Furthermore we drove from Miami and had to pay ridiculous parking fee all for our evening to be ruined by this pointless situation.It’s sad to see the level of respect for others emotional disability be looked over unjustly. I guess that’s just what this #imax theater stands for.

Excellent place to watch a movie. The size of the screen is huge and the sound is awesome. You are surrounded by the sound and the base rummbles your seat. The 3d glasses arent scratched up and are clean.There is one thing I dont care for. That is the short armrests with the round cup holders on the end. They are not at all comfortable. They really need to be longer. Bring along a couple of pads to lay on them. I am going to.

Love the screen, but honestly in 2019...how do they mot have assigned seating? The qorst aspect of the theater is you cant select seats, so if youre lucky enough to score tix to a blockbuster film when it opens, you have to stand in line 2 hours early just to ensure decent seats.

By far the best movie theatre in South Florida! Saw The Force Awakens here and it was one of the best movie experiences ive had, even though the screening was a sold out show.Pros: 5 story screen & true surround system and the seats were comfortable.Cons: No refund, but i never really ask for a refund. Only other Con i can think of is if you get seats that are too close to the screen it may affect ones viewing pleasure.All in all: Best theater in town.

Going to this theater is an event of pure pleasure. Huge screen and a sound system that makes you feel like youre in the movie. Seeing something in IMAX 3D is like riding a roller coaster. This isnt just a movie its an experience that youll truly enjoy.

Fantastic 60 foot high screen. Seats not bad, could be a little more comfortable. The stadium seating is well spaced. Cost is wonderful compared to a similar screen. Sound is amazing.

This is the best Imax theater in America. When I see movie theaters touting their imax banners I know that those iterations are nothing compared to this one. Unfortunately, Ive been so spoiled that its hard for me to watch movies anywhere else - and I mean other states as well. First world problems.

This is an absolute must experience!! Just remember to plan ahead, as parking is off-site. Concession stand is not at the level of the IMAX in NYC; limited food offerings. But honestly the movie experience is what its all about. I tend to opt for the VIP access on release nights to ensure I get a good seat

This was the worst experience Ive ever had in a movie theatre!WORST PART: no seats reservation! If youre in to see a good, in demand movie, like I went for Interstellar, sold out, be prepared to arrive at least 1 hour ahead to get your place in line if you want a decent seat! Because its on a first come first served basis!!! We went 30 min ahead and the best seats we could get were the first 3 seats on a row end at mid level. We could see properly only half of the screen, although it is curved!SECOND WORST: picture quality; I was expecting to be blown away by the overly advertised IMAX 70 mm picture quality of the movie. It was the most blurred movie Ive seen in an theater in a long while, and Im pretty sure it wasnt the movie quality!SEATS COMFORT: average at best!SOUND: average at best!SCREEN: yeah, its huge, but what good if the rest sucks?Advise: there are way better options out there!

If a movie is in 3-D, this is the place to see it. I love the big screen and sound system. VIP is the way to go, especially for new releases that are popular. No need to stand in line for hours, which is perfect for my family.

If youve never seen a movie in IMAX you must as nothing compares! The visuals and sounds are nothing short of spectacular! If 3D its even better! If youre going during opening day or weekend splurge for the VIP pass so you can skip the main line. It is pricey so expect some sticker shock.k Ive been going here for bog action movies for years. My only wish is for fresh popcorn and fountain drinks.

Fancy place,clean and friendly staff. I didnt give them five stars because they have ducks in front of the teather and they let there customers to feed them with popcorn. They should call wildlife services to do something about it. The little ducks wont learn how to hunt.

The only true IMAX experience in South Florida. I am a huge movie fan and I enjoy watching new movies in theaters. This place is incredible, the screen is huge and the sound is felt throughout your body. Save this for a movie you really cant wait to see. Also make sure to arrive early, you will want to grab a good seat.

Went to see Mission Impossible. Movie was great and Theatre was not crowded for matinee. Then the museum is free after the movie. Its a great experience.

Great IMAX experience but only showcasing certain types of movies, at certain times, for certain periods. Expect this limitation and book your tickets fast, get there EARLY for good seats and you will have a great time. Its not really a theater, so if you dont expect it to be, itll be great.

Cool place to see a movie.

Love the quality of the films BUT the seats are limited so I suggest going real early for major events. I hope they add reserve seating soon
