Even the rain, our visit to the Rosenbaum House could not be dampened. This was our fourth Wright home tour and it was everything we had hoped for. The staff, both in the shop and the home, were lovely people who were passionate about the preservation and history of the home. The tour was fantastic and is a must-see if you’re in the Florence/Muscle Shoals area. Wright inspires, as always.

My wife and I went to the Frank Lloyd Wright - Rosenbaum Home in Florence Alabama! We really enjoyed it very much, the tour was great! It was so awesome to actually get to see inside a Frank Lloyd Wright home. My only complaint is that photography was not allowed inside the home. We took a lot of pictures of the outside of the house and thru the windows though. Our favorite thing was the kitchen and bedrooms, Jerry gave us a great presentation! Jerry was very knowledgeable and friendly.I would definitely recommend this to everyone

A piece of American history. A must see for any architectural buff or fan of FLW.The story behind the restoration is worth the visit if the sight of the place won’t do it for ya.Be warned, the Rosenbaum’s were short people, so the clearance is gonna be tight in most of the entryways, and certainly the carport. Mind your head...

The guide knew the family well who commissioned this house from Frank Lloyd Wright. Very knowledgable. A cool stop if you have the time. The Usonian design reminds me of Japanese homes with regards to the space efficiency and attention to detail.

The Rosenbaum House is a dynamic example of Wright’s Usonian style. The house is tucked away in a quiet, residential part of Florence, and you might miss it if you aren’t looking for it. My tour guide was very knowledgeable, and it took about an hour to tour the house. The property has been beautifully maintained. I highly recommend you tour Rosenbaum House if you are in Florence!

I wouldnt say Im a FLW enthusiast, but Ive always been interested in his work. This is the first time Ive experienced his work in person and I was very impressed. Unfortunately photos are not allowed inside, although exterior photos are fine. The interior is MUCH smaller than expected, probably because photos have to be taken with wide angles to get everything in one shot. I mentioned I got the feeling of being on a boat and another tourist said, Or a train. Indeed. The house has the feeling that someone was living there and had just left for the store. I have great appreciation for the City of Florence saving this place from demolition.

Great place to visit if you enjoy architecture. More of an adult oriented place to visit as young children will not understand (and probably not care to understand) the definitions and history about the house. Photographs can only be taken on the outside however, there is a book you can purchase that has the history and photos of the entire structure. It is worth a visit if you are in the Florence/Muscle Shoals area.

If you are a fan of all things mid-century, this makes a truly great pilgrimage. Situated in a small college town halfway between Nashville and Birmingham, and somewhat closer to Huntsville, Alabama, the Rosenbaum house is one of FLWs early experiments in Usonian architecture. I have a friend that knew the folks that lived here when it was a normal residence and was in it often when she was a kid. So I just had to see it. The house is ... different! It is an odd mix of minimalist and extravagance (for the time). In any case it was well worth an hour of my time. I dont know much about architecture or FLW.

The Rosenbaum House, now owned by the city of Florence is a gem of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture. He built the original structure, and then when the Rosenbaums needed more room because they had 4 boys, he came back and designed the addition..Mrs Rosenbaum lived in the house until shortly before her death, the heirs gave the house to the city of Florence. The City has done a wonderful job of renovating and keeping the original house in the style in which it was built. Definitely worth the trip to see it, and we were delighted to find the house was open on Sunday afternoon!

Interesting example of FLWs design. House is listed as handicapped accessible. It is not. First, if you are in a wheelchair, there is no way you can get into the building where you buy tickets. There is no way to get anyones attention, either. The house itself is only barely accessible. If you have a standard manual chair, you can get into the extension. If you have an electric chair, forget it. The house has multiple levels and the doorways into most of the rooms are only 20 inches wide. Wright was a designer with a limited vision and even less engineering skill.
