Theres trees that are down and you have to go over them. The mosquitos were terrible and it was very muddy. The nature Trail might be a better option.
Nice on cooler summer days or winter, otherwise very buggy. There are easy trails and a place to run around in the river, but if you bring long pants and protective footwear, there are also some really fun paths that are a bit more rugged.
Its quiet and has water access. Been here 3 times, and never seen anyone on the trails. Saw an owl yesterday.
I mean, I stopped there while harvesting was going on so it wasnt exactly the quiet peaceful place it would normally be...
Grew up in Dundas. I come at least once a year.. Great place to relax and enjoy the trails. I love camping 2 or 3 nights with family and friends.
Great place to camp and hike
On a whim, I decided to venture down the trail after having received permissions to survey the land and see how we as volunteers can attempt to clear Cannon River Wilderness Area of tree debris and open the pathways up again. This hike isnt for the faint of heart, to say the least, but it is a very doable one if youd like to contribute to the cleanup efforts this park has been going through since the September 2018 tornadoes went through this park. Many trees are still decomposing and will need another winter before they become soft enough to cut through.I had the honor of greeting Henry Fiskes Cabin Site and learned a lot about the history basis. While I regret not taking a picture of the cabin site, I was impressed at how the foundation and fireplace remained albeit 2 tornadoes ripping through. This place is definitely worth checking out and cleaning up if you have the time. Until the trails clear up, the park remains closed for public use.
Beautiful, secluded spot. Use entrance of CR20 for privacy. Park took on major tornado damage.
Incredibly disappointed in the condition of the trails and the manners of the people using this beautiful space. Trails were overgrown and badly in need of attention. Campsites along the trail were left trashed - garbage everywhere. I encountered multiple off-leash, untrained dogs that came up to my leashed dogs and wouldnt recall to their owners.
Nice
Beautiful area
Free camping, boat landings/public water - access, picnic shelter, nice nature trails. My mother was married on the Bridge in this park.
Good walking trails
Stayed here overnight. Disappointed at the amount of unleashed dogs we saw. We had a problem of them peeing on one of our tents (so you may want to keep a close eye on your stuff while youre there). Lots of dog poop around too. No signs posted about making sure your dog is leashed.
Very peaceful in the winter. You can spend hours walking the trails.
A hidden gem, with great trails and beautiful landscapes.
Unfortunately, its all a disaster after the tornadoes
I dont know why it keeps asking about this. I have never been here.
Nice place to walk around
Gorgeous but the trails are overgrown pretty badly
A beautiful gift.
Nice park but road needs attention badly and theres no outhouse.
Beautiful Peaceful
Great place to hike.
Park closed
Quiet and pretty
Amazing river
Great trails
Hidden natural gem
Excellent place for rustic camping.
Nice trails and camping
Get the road fixed
Some decent trails.
Beautiful park. Nice camp sites. Ample parking. Unfortunately bumps up to a landfill and the odor spills over along the trail.
