An 8 day float down Marsh Fork of the Canning fulfilled a long-time dream to experience the Arctic Refuge, a true national treasure owned by all Americans. The sense of deep wilderness, pristine landscapes, and ever-present signs of big mammals was inspiring and humbling. This place is magical and otherworldly, and represents the absolute best of conservation and resource protection. Lets keep ALL of of the Arctic Refuge wild and free forever. Thanks U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and everyone who helps keep it that way!

The penguins had a sort of strange consistency but they tasted kinda like chicken. I highly recommend trying them live, as the blood adds to the taste. Dogs were pretty good too.

People willing to live a life style that, in my opinion, will balance the wolf population in their habitat without striping the refuge of all its larger game. The over population of packs of wolves will reduce large game when large game need extremely large areas of wilderness to maintain survival. I do think the population of residence should be limited and managed. The refuge is the size of South Carolina. The refuge is quite large given there are only seven resident families allowed to live within the refuge until the death of their last living childs life. Each resident in the refuge lives hundreds of miles from one another; hundreds of miles. I do not think the Artic Refuge is in danger from a few families that occupy the refuge, the refuge that is the size of the State of South Carolina.
