Only a few patches. Only one or two really nice patches. I thought with all the rain it would be solidly covered. 5 years ago it was just amazing take your breathe away because everywhere was covered in blue. This year we had to hunt for the blue seas. We loved what youve done to downtown. We had a wonderful lunch at the Wildflower Cafe .

Weekend is crowded. Music is fine to me. And it seems lots of people love that. All kinds of high calories food and drinks. Small shops of vintage and artifacts.Parking is not hard to find. The street parking is easy to find.Lots of trails and kids love them! The road condition is good to drive around. Some places might have lossy paves.Just don’t go to private yard to disturb people there. Also welcome to be a volunteer.

Pretty cool arts and crafts on sale here. A good amount of activities for the kids including paddle boats and the giant inflatable hamster ball. We didnt stay for the music but we did get to see a train pass nearby and all the kids loved that. Downtown Ennis is starting to look great with all of the renovations.

We are new to TX. So glad we learned about the Bluebonnet Festival! Its an amazing experience! We messed up the dates and went down the weekend before the festival. It turned out to be a blessing. There were still plenty of people and extra things to see and do, but not so crowded we couldnt enjoy the trail. The Bluebonnets are so beautiful! There are many places along the trail to stop and take pictures. Make your 1st stop at the visitors center and get a map and postcard. The map will guide you through the driving tour and point out good places to park and take pictures. At the end of the trail, there are 2 Belgian draft horses. The owners leave out huge barrels of oats and you can feed the horses. They are so beautiful and super friendly.

The Bluebonnet festival is an excellent time to come out with the family and enjoy a good time with fun-filled festivities and plenty of food. The setup is really nice and they closed off the area to avoid any through traffic. Some of the events are paid activities but for the main stuff downtown it is free.

I always have fun at all the festivals that Ennis has. During bluebonnet season it is so beautiful here and the whole town fully embraces the bright and colorful atmosphere of the bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes with artwork and t-shirts. Its cheesy and fun. I also love taking the long route home to drive around looking at the fields of blue and seeing the adorable kiddos in their sunday bests on taking photos in with the flowers.

While quaint, the layout is phenomenal! Even with a large crowd, people move freely. Prices from the vendors are reasonable for a festival - my wife and I were able to get lunch for $10 for the two of us. Texas hospitality abounds with smiles all around. Great job by the City of Ennis!

Well attended festival. Promoters take care of the vendors. Wish vendors could set up on Thursday evening instead of having to come in at 6 a.m. to prepare for a noon opening.

Fantastic year for the Bluebonnets and there was plenty of Indian paintbrush too. In town festival was ok, going on the trails was the best part, except for all the other people on the trails

As one that lives on the Bluebonnet Trail our 11 acres are covered in them for the month of April. The festival adds an extra bonus for us by mixing pure country with historical downtown Ennis thrown in for fun. My suggestion is to explore the backroads off the marked trail for best views of the Bluebonnets.Don’t ever enter a land owners fields without permission.

Simply put, BREATHTAKING! We recently moved to Texas and the Bluebonnet Trail is by far the most beautiful area that weve seen! So many photo locations! The springtime place to be for all things bluebonnets! The bluebonnet trails will not disappoint, and there are plenty of safe places to get out for pictures. You can take a long drive or a shorter one. And the festival has lots of vendors with fun things to see and do. Buy a ticket for the wine wander to support the schools, but you dont really need one to drink lots of good Texas wine. Be ready to take it slow and deal with some traffic in downtown. Wear your walking shoes. Bring your dog. Have fun!

Of all the festivals in the surrounding small towns, this is the best planned. There are plenty of trashcans and vendors. It is clean and colorful, with something for everyone. What I appreciated the most is the abscense of retailers. The bulk of the vendors are selling homemade wares, crafts, and homegrown foods which is in keeping with the spirit of a farmers market. If you force me to complain, I would have to say the parking areas, but then again we found parking within 5 minutes. This was definitely worth an hours drive to us.

Lots of bluebonnets and vendors. The old downtown area where the festival part is located is very crowded. Dont expect to get in a hurry, and wear your walking shoes, because you will! Buy a ticket for the wine wander to support the Ennis ISD, not because youll get your moneys worth. You dont need it, though - you can buy wine samples for a dollar each. The wine wander ticket is $30 and comes with a small glass and 8 sampling tickets. We had a blast, and its close enough for a day trip from Dallas.
