I went first week of April and there were just enough bluebonnets to take a couple of nice pictures. An hour before sunset is good. The edge near the water and below the trees are potential spots. Its a good place to set your GPS to if you dont want to roam around discovering Bluebonnet patches. Id like to see how this place is during full bloom. However, you could very well find a better spot elsewhere in Ennis if you want to put in the effort.

We were driving to Dallas from Houston and thought of doing a quick visit to Ennis being spring season. Had great fun clicking photos during bluebonnets season and festival. Great place to visit with friends, family or pets. Huge parking space enough for the visiting crowd and not much of a walk to the park. Wild flowers were all over the place and families had enough spots to take pictures.

Beautiful Bluebonnet fields for taking pictures in the springtime. I enjoyed a pleasant walk through some wooded areas of the park as well. There appear to be amenities for everyone, wide accommodating trails and plenty of photo opportunities. I wish people would be more respectful of the flowers at parks such as this. They have a lovely pond. There are several well maintained ball fields here as well.

This place is so beautiful!! Not only is there the beautiful bluebonnets but there is also a small hidden trail to walk. The pond has interesting wildlife you can observe. Amazing photo opportunities at every turn. It is also next to a small baseball park with decent restrooms.

Awful maintenance. Beautiful park, great setup and location, but dirty. No one is doing pest control. There are a bunch of huge wasp nests under the shade structures and in the restroom/concession buildings. Like the size of someones head, inside the screens at the top of the buildings, etc so there are dozens and dozens of wasps swarming constantly. Its hard to be near the buildings or use the bathrooms. Dont take your kids there without an EpiPen (or four) if they are allergic. The restrooms were dirty - dead June bugs and dead spiders in the sinks, dirt, leaves, and tp on the floor. Its a shame because if it was taken care of, it would be really nice.

It was a beautiful park, guessing it would have been more beautiful when there was full bloom.. now its only a side of park which has flowers.. try going early in the morning to get good pictures.. As the day progressed there were lot of people as well as bright sun and it was difficult to take photos..

Clean, peaceful and quiet.Sometimes I like to go here and relax in my car with the windows down. One evening I spent about 4 hours walking around the pond, sitting at the picnic tables and just relaxing. The entire time, two vehicles came and ate some food and left.

Excellent place take traditional pictures among the bluebonnets. No need to stop along along a dangerous highway, make make a quick day trip.No cost. Plenty of space for everyone. Because of the amount of people foot traffic there is not any noticeable wildlife (snakes) in tge the flowers.

We went for a softball tournament. The ballfields were adequate but could use a facelift especially around the concession and restroom buildings. Parking area was very limited and in an area that didnt allow for even temporary overflow parking.

Such a great place for pictures: bring your wife, Grandma and the kids! Those pictures will become memories to put on the fireplace. It can be pretty crowded during the weekends of the Bluebonnets season but Texans are so friendly that its quickly forgotten. There is picnic tables available for your convenience and toilets (not very clean). Lots of parking.

Nice park for a picnic or just to get some fresh air. The pond is full of easy to catch bluegill and would be a good place to get the next angler in the family. The only downside is getting in and out of the park. The entrance needed a little more thought into the design.

Pretty pond and pavilion area. Plenty of parking spaces. The softball fields need some maintenance, and more shaded areas would be nice. There were TONS of wasps flying around, which seemed to be nesting in the roof of the building with concession/restrooms. Concessions were good and not overpriced. The restrooms are my biggest complaint. Three stalls in the ladies room at a softball complex is not sufficient by any means. Also, we ladies need trash cans in each stall...just sayin’.

I usually make an annual trip to Ennis to view and take pictures of the bluebonnnets and other wild flowers. This was the first year I visited Bluebonnet Park. They had a nice sized lake with the bluebonnets planted on a slight hillside behind the lake. There were paved trails throughout the park, which helps keep people from walking on the bluebonnets. A very good location.
