Beautiful views a plus. No to big rigs. Pit toilets. No hookups. There are spickets to fill your water tanks. Picnic tables with cover. Again the views are beautiful. Some truck noise from the nearby road. Thank you Texas!
Nice bridge to the left and right with a view as you go by. Take time to walk around the area to get a good appreciation for the landscape and nature at this beautiful area to be in. Many good places before and after the bridge to see and hike around. This whole area has a lot to off for every season.
One of the best places to swim at the lake if you arent taking the boat out. The area is mostly trash free and the water has a nice slope to its depth and the bridge provides nice shade during those hot summer days. Its a bit of a walk with the low water but the paths are pretty easy. The camp site is nice and has an option on the north side of the point for some day sites with picnic tables and bathrooms.
Cool place to scuba dive from shore. There is ample parking and bathrooms. On the other side of the camping area is a small dock.
Great place to either go camp or just go swimming and have a great time with the family.
Loved it nice calm had a great time...
I had been driving all night, sweaty, achy, tired, my eyes burning, stomach growling and rumbling at me. Unfortunately I had no choice but to keep driving along highway 90 even though I was starving. There in the glove box were 4 slim jims. Lord knows how long they had been there, how many days in the sun they spent spoiling and morphing into some strange plasticy creature. But my hunger got the best of me and before I knew it I was spitting out plastic and devouring every inch of those long succulent meats. Hunger barely satisfied I refocused my eyes and soul on the road eagerly trying to get to my destination before the night was over. Some 40 minutes later it hit me. At first...the sweats...and then...the pangs. Oh how they came in horror and trembled my body top to bottom left to right. Before I knew it pressure mounted like a mentos in a bottled 2 liter of Cola and I had mere seconds. As I jumped out the car looking for salvation I found it over a guard rail in a small patch of grass before a large lake. After ten minutes of pure agony I finished and sat down. What laid before me was a peaceful and quiet night scene as the dawn approached off in the east corner with a faint purple haze closing in. As I sat there reflecting on my journey this place struck me as one quite beautiful and romantic. Governors landing captured me with its magic, solitude, and open arms as I lay waste on its shores. Thank you, 5 stars for your willingness to accept my mess.
I wouldnt recommend. I was looking for a spot to rest for the evening and found this location. Overall the area was clean, but its right underneath Highway 90; so unless you enjoy the sound of 18 wheelers roaring past all thru the night, Id suggest finding another spot to post up for the night. If you have to stay here head as far as you can from the road. That said, the lake was beautiful and Im sure spending the day here with your family would be fun.
Could use some better signage in the area
I’m so in awe of the spectacular scenery in this area. The park was clean. The amphitheater was super small.
Great playground, docks, and view. Not their fault the fish werent biting. Small campsites, and RV spots, but quiet.
Great place to camp. First, it is only eight dollars per night, four is you are a holder of a senior or access pass. Also, is has great sunrises and sunsets over the Amistad Reservoir.
Great place to fish and hang out
Nice place..very clear water
Family fun always
Beautiful place to take the family!
Great place to enjoy Lake Amistad, occasionally there are jet skiers getting a little too close. Overall though great place to swim, fishing at this location aint so hot though.
Beautiful clear water but very noisy overpass
Love our lake always have a great time.
When you want to get away from the mindless mundane molasses paced crawl of Del Rio Life, this is the spot. Nice place to chill, climb on rocks, and look at birds. Is fishing allowed? Im not sure, but you might want to ask.
This whole campground is so close to the highway that you will hear trucks rumbling by all night on the bridge which is almost over head. But there are other wonderful places to camp all around the lake.
Loved it the water is refreshing and the people are very nice I highly recommend it
My wife and I enjoyed sitting by the water and stargazing.
Absolutely love bringing kiddos here for picnics and to walk down to the water
Amazing place to get away, quietest place you can be.
Beautiful views. Well maintained.
Great little place for a picnic, camping, fishing or hanging out under the bridge.
