A great spot to take kids or history buffs. They also put on awesome events throughout the year. And it’s a great place to host a private event.
Really like this place. I was here about 20 years ago and always remembered the Nativity scene. Im so glad I was able.to come back!
A little piece of history that has to compete with video games for attention.
Pleasant home town museum. A hodgepodge of items mostly featuring Judge Roy Bean. Price is right for what it is. Several of the buildings have A/C which can be very nice on a hot day. Also there is a lovely courtyard that is very inviting for just sitting and relaxing.
An eclectic mix of historical items. But very well displayed and they had an excellent area that people and children could play or relax in the outdoors. Lots of little buildings set up to showcase different things. I learned a few things about Judge Roy Bean that I didnt know. Pleased to see they honored local heroes, and the local American Indians. Someone had even labeled the plants that grew there and went as far as to remove the thorns from the cactus so that no one got hurt. Very glad I went. (And there was a fantastic gift shop!)
Such a fun place to discover and learn about local history! Great exhibits, artifacts, pioneer items, Native American and Mexican heritage, and Judge Roy Beans gravesite! So much to see! $5pp or $4pp with senior or military discount. What a wonderful way to spend a day!
I love everytime we have the oportunity to play a rock show there. Always a blast!! Besides being a museum, this place has presence some of the best rock shows in Del Rio. Michael Graves and Green Jelly are some of the big artist that had perform here. I have the opportunity to live several shows here and to play here with several bands through out the years. With so many areas to explore white head museum is a great experiences
My children and I had a nice time visiting the museum
Its a well maintained museum. Learned something new about history.
Wish I had more time! Lots of history and good reading! Very enjoyable and a very friendly and helpful staff!!!
What an interesting and historic place. Very well done. Many artifacts, antiques, live displays to enjoy in a serene setting. Highly recommend!
I love to visit this place with my family. The gift shop is really cute. It is a nice place to visit here in Del Rio.
In town last year visiting family and stopped in here. Very family friendly and a great way to spend some time learning about the local history. The birds were pretty cool too! Little of everything for everyone. Might drop in again this week.
Awesome place with a ton of Del Rio and Val Verde history.
I loved my experience here and the best part is that it is kid friendly
Awesome, great local culture. Its a self guided tour so you can go at your own pace. I particullary liked the history of our little town. 10/10
This museum has some great relics of our countys past. It is also the burial place of Judge Roy Bean and his son Sam. Events are often held here.
Exceptional presentation of southwest Texas history and the staff was very helpful and informative
Nice place to visit. Lots of interesting things of the past
My boys and I definitely enjoyed our experience! There is a lot of old radio, phone, farm, and saloon equipment, home deco, clothing, etc from ages ago that are very interesting to look at. There is only limited a/c in a few of the buildings, so we recommend going in the cooler months of the year. We really enjoyed it. The front office/store workers were very helpful, nice and welcoming!!Thank yall for the experience!
Informative. Well displayed. Staff is helpful & knowledgeable.
Quirky and eclectic slice of Texas history

Quirky little entrance takes to the past in a flash with a large courtyard filled with a variety of displays and buildings. From dead guys to wedding receptions to aviary to baby Jesus, these try to cover it all. Its definitely a must see attraction if passing through Del Rio.
Wonderful Museum. Love the way its set up.

What a great museum for a small city!
Gotta love history
Lots to learn
Awesome history of Del Rio and surrounding communities. Only comment would be the old musty smell in some of the buildings.
What a great place! Would recommend for anyone to visit is you go through Del Rio!!
A gem of history and culture in downtown Del Rio.
We got married there this February 16th!
This is an eclectic museum focusing on the history and culture of Del Rio. It sits on a little more than 2 acres and has 15+ buildings and plenty of other outdoor exhibits.Theres a small gift shop in a historic building that you walk through when you first arrive and from what I recall, it was $5 per person to wander the grounds. Be warned, all the buildings are separate, so there is a little bit of outdoor time walking between the buildings, but they really aren’t far apart from one another. Some of the buildings are air conditioned while some of the smaller ones are not – but you don’t spend a lot of time in the smaller ones since there isn’t a lot to see in them.Theres a replica of the Jersey Lilly (Judge Roy Bean’s place in Langtry, TX), an old railroad caboose that you can walk through, an old fire truck, and plenty of history about Del Rio, from old west times to the 21st century. Make sure you check out the Cadena Nativity – it’s a huge Nativity collection; it’s 32 feet long, 20 feet deep, and 10 feet tall at parts. It was donated by the family of the lady who created it at her home. One of the buildings even showcases famous people from Del Rio.Some of the buildings are original old buildings that were relocated here, and some were built just for this place and their exhibits. From what I recall, street parking only – but there was plenty available when I was there. And one last tidbit – Judge Roy Bean and his son Sam are both buried here – their remains were reinterred after grave site desecrations happened at their original burial locations.Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Two random parrots are located on the grounds in cages. Pretty birds, but kinda random to be there lol!Don’t expect too much here, but it is a good place to spend a couple of hours if you find yourself stuck in Del Rio (which is not a bad little town by the way!).
Small building entrance to historical site area. Snacks available. Easily assessible
