It was very beautiful and plentiful picnic areas, a lake, camping, TV park, grill out areas and the nature was spectacular! The grass was extremely cushiony walking barefoot! While exploring the area I saw a lot of animals and beautiful birds... blue Jay was the best! Im pretty positive they are expanding the area even further so definitely check it out now and in the future! Worth a visit for sure :)
We LOVED this very friendly and Awesome. This place is very clean. We really enjoy to hangouts with my friends. Very recommended place especially for the photographers, But there some spot that we realy disappointed.
This is an excellent campground and a lot better than a lot of RV Resorts we have visited. It is first come first served, so get there early, choose your site, check in and enjoy. Patios, tables, fire rings, ALL (except tent sites) have 30/50 amp service, sewer and water. $25 per night for RV sites.
Stayed at the Summit Campground just for an overnight as we drove cross country. It’s a beautiful campground with long paved pull-thru sites and each has a grassy area, picnic table and fire ring as well as electric and water. Dump station right near the bathhouse. Though the lakes are currently drained for improvements, the entire park is beautifully landscaped, green and lush. The campground was quiet and peaceful. If we lived nearby we’d come back often.
We LOVED this very friendly, pretty, very level, treed, cement-pad RV park. We were lucky enough to find a site late on a Saturday afternoon, and thats probably because they dont take reservations. Full hookups with Military discount was - are you ready for this- $22.50 for the night! We would come back in a heartbeat.
Clean and Friendly. The staff are wonderful. The parking and hookups are easy and convenient. Beautiful scenery.
Nice clean safe park close to the family - open all year!
Stopped in for a gift card. The person working that day was awesome. Great friendy service.
Quiet, big sites, affordable. We were just passing through heading home, but would have loved to stay longer. Full hookup on all sites and first come, first serve. No reservations
Great park...just missing full hookups, but has 50/30amp at each spot and water nearby for fillup.
This place is very clean. We really enjoy camping here, either at the Full hook up or just the side that has water and electric only. Can’t wait for the lakes to be filled up again so we can enjoy the Swimming areas!!
West Lake Park is a well-maintained, no reservations campground area. It has nice playground for the kids, a place for trash depositing & recycling deposits. Most spots provide decent shade trees, full hook-ups but many spots you will need extra hose length- 20 -30 ft. to reach sewer hook up. A beach and lake areas that are not available this year ( 2020) as they are working on those areas. Paved roads (asphalt) and pads are back in for full hook ups. Each site has picnic table and campfire site. Gates that close nightly, guest or extra vehicle.parking available. A friendly and clean environment.
This is a great place to camp or have family outings. Well kept areas to enjoy.
Awesome here.We are back again this week. Love it here! BEST PLACE EVER SO FAR!!!
I am a kid and it is so fun for you and your kids If you have kids if not it is Still really fun for you if you go have fun
Beautiful scenery well maintained good sized lot. I definitely would recommend camping here.
Employees were very nice and helpful. We really appreciate that.
Full hookups, cement pads, spacious sites; nice gravel roads. Neighborhood across the road looks very nice; good area. Great county park; beautiful with trees and large grassy areas. Only stayed one night. Friendly county park ranger walked the campground checking on registrations. Said we’re high enough that no fear of flooding. The region has had heavy rain and tornados; Mississippi River is short drive to the east. Nice to pick your site before registering especially when you want to avoid mud and standing water. My dog found large food bones in three different spots; they blended into the grass and gravel...after Memorial Day weekend. Maybe people let their dogs chew and forgot to pick up. Otherwise, the park is neat and clean.
Level sites. Clean and well lit bathroom and showers. The vault bathrooms are new and dont smell terribly (cant get rid of all smells). Plus, they even have stand-up urinals.
The disc golf course is top notch play from the pro pads and you will be beat by the end. Fun course tight fairways and good terrain.
Traveling through several states and we found this park. Absolutely beautiful! If we lived closer, wed frequently stay.
Fantastic--Beautiful Place To Go Camping, Also beware of The Japanese Hornets Around The Camp Grounds
Huge pretty park but the lake is drained right now
Its a wonderful campground but there is no reservation system and a few rules that make it very difficult to get in a spot. But we eventually did and office staff, I forget her name, was absolutely wonderful and helpful.
Very nice park with many upgrades including new shelters, and playgrounds. Clean and well maintained. I enjoy renting kayaks here. Prices are very reasonable. Husband caught Bass here today, and my dad caught blue gill. Only complaint were fishermen who visited before us did not clean up picnic litter or discard fishing line appropriately. (In marked containers.) Otherwise a great park. Never crowded during week.
Very pretty Park. Well maintain. Hoping to camp there soon.
One of the best Parks in the Quad Cities. Very well kept and the visitors for the most part are great
Super nice campgrounds, space for large Rvs, pull thru. Recommend West Lake Park very highly
A lake so awesome it doesnt even need water.
Loved the playset and many shady trees to take a walk through. Could have spent more than an hour there.
West dry lake, should be the name. Im sure its a better place when there is water. Looks like nice camping in any way.
One of our favorite places to camp. We camp in Texas in the winterWestlake is better.
Great place to go camping and hiking
Despite 3 inches of rain over the weekend, we really enjoyed the main campground. It was one of the quietest camping trips weve ever been on. Thanks to the park rangers for patrolling and making everyone feel safe. The facilities were the cleanest weve ever seen. My only complaint was the previous campers at our site never picked up after their huge dog. So walking to the fire ring was quite a challenge.
One of the biggest Parks Ive ever been to, so much to do RV Park disc golf grilling riding bike walking trails I think planning to do for all ages and activities
Nice place but miss the water to boat and fish
The beach area is always clean. The life guards are very attentive and they do regular safety checks. The water is tested once a week to ensure that it is safe for swimming. Entry fee is cheap, especially if you have a big group. Concession prices are more than reasonable. Definitely a place to go if you are looking for something to do on a strict budget.
Right now the lakes are drained for cleaning, but when they are filled... beautiful!!! Nothing like sitting on one of the hills near the lakes just relaxing and listening to the birds and watching the sun go down.
Fantastic park. Absolutely beautiful. The disc golf course looks amazing. Great place to bring your kids. Shelter rentals are very reasonable,a great place for an outdoor party or gathering. The campgrounds appear to be well maintained.
Nice campground site. Friendly Ranger.
Nice lots. Beautiful
1st time here. Very nice camp ground. Well taken care of. They have kayaks and paddle boats. Nice little Beach area for swimming. Hope to go back.
Had gorgeous views. They had a lot to offer. Their prices i thought were more than reasonable. They had a play ground near by. It was just a great experience.
Campgrounds look great. Park is kept nice and clean. Lake and ponds are drained right now for renivations so no swimming or fishing. Should be better when they are done.
Beautiful place very well kept
This is a nice place if youre just starting off kayaking and want calm open waters. There are some back waters that can be quite shallow but are fun to explore as well.
Fun place to swim and frisbee golf. Lake is drained for maintenance.
Park employees are very nice and accommodating.
This park is right off a busy highway but it still feels peaceful. There is a beach and a boat/canoe/kayak rental area. Frisbee golf course is beautiful and seems long, going near the lake and through the park itself. Several different playground areas for the kids throughout the grounds.
**UPDATE - the main swimming and fishing lakes were been drained for maintenance. I am not sure if all lakes in the park were drained. **Great campground located near 4 lakes in West Davenport of the Quad-cities. We paid $25/night for full hook ups which I thought was very reasonable. Facilities were very clean and the registration process was very easy. Firewood and snacks available at the registration building as well. Playground at both campgrounds (one has full hook up and tenting, the other water/electricity only with dump stations near camp host site). Main lake has canoe rental/swimming area in summer months. Fishing is available at all of the lakes. Biking trials nearby at Emeis park. No reservations - park in open spot then register.
Always great there.
Peaceful place. I used to go fishing here as a child and remember it being very nice and quiet for the most part. Highly recommend for tourists and locals.
Good place to camp.
Fantastic views with clean and spacious shelters. I highly recommend Gate 6! It has an excellent shelter with playground equipment and plenty of parking!
An amazing campground. Very clean, quiet and great sites. Love camping here when were in the area
Loved the Park. Stayed for 3 days. Cant wait to go again. Very relaxing!!
Very nice camp ground! It was very clean and people were nice! I love how it was full hook up. It once jot having to wait in line to dump your tanks. Only thing is it is kinda pricey and the senior discount it not much and I think they could do better with that. But all in all very nice place.
Not much of a lake lately, but still nice
Curbs in the overflow parking have rebar sticking out, rips off your bumper and when you report it they don’t want to make a report about it but they will say they will contact park manager. It’s been 3 weeks and no call. So be aware! Also, the speed limit is 10 mph. I can see why everyone goes over because even some of the park rangers don’t do 10 mph! Becoming one of the worst parks I have been to
We had great time great people and helpful had great time would stay again 24 dollars per night
The lake has been drained to allow for construction to deepen the lake, it was nice to do some hiking in the lake bed and look for items, tossed in the original Lake.
Awesome place to camp and enjoyed alot. Will fo back soon.
Nice trails.
Nice and very clean for a public park, we rented one of the pavilions and will do so again! Nice little lake for kayaking, swimming etc.
Nice lake. Great for family outing.
The lake was drained when we were there but, the cabin was nice. Except for the dry lake thing, the park was also nice.
Great campground
Nice place for reunions or just to take the family.
Very friendly staff and a nice and close get away to camp for the weekend. We had a great time. Our family also tired some firsts.
Love the camp ground the views and the fishing in the lakes
We stay at this RV Park. It is very nice and clean. Part of the park has full hook-ups. Bathrooms and showers are very clean! ️
Nice park, would be 5 star except that they have drained all of their lakes for maintenance.
Nice but not the best wayer makes me ghag
Can only review the West lake beach area as thats all we used. Beautiful park with a nice beach, concessions, deck area with shaded tables to eat, locker rooms were clean, beach chairs and umbrellas on the sand. Nice grassy area with picnic tables in partial shade behind the sand. They allow you to bring a cooler into the beach and keep it on the grassy area. Also a fun climbing contraption for kids. Saw a lot of nice playground areas on our drive in as well. Lots of people kayaking, about an hour wait on a Sunday late morning. Everything was well manicured. Had fun out on the kayaks, saw some turtles along the way- we prefer sit on kayaks to the sit in ones they have but thats just us. Everyone was friendly and so glad we discovered this place, well definitely be back!
Nice area to go
Place was nice and clean. Good spot. Just didnt like I couldnt have floaties.....not even pool noodles.
I had a great time camping, fishing, hiking the trails and soaking up the air conditioning in the bathroom I was there for 4 days and it was 95*out. ️
Rude staff. Kids cant even ride Hoover boards but they can ride bikes...makes no sense. Not very family friendly Loud thunder is definitely better and cheaper.
Rangers are always friendly, they could use more parking for guest of campers. Alway clean and well kept.
Quick destination to take my kid fishing usually always clean around the area plenty of places to have a picnic and fish
Has tons to offer. I went for fishing but have attended numerous outdoor functions there. There is a swimming area, several camping areas with full hookups. Kyak rentals boat ramp. No gas motors. Plenty of trails to walk. Great scenery around the lakes.
The rv park is very nice. Full hook up with just the right amount of shade.
