The most delightful beach for hanging out all day. Bathrooms, showers, ample parking, RV overnight stay okay. This beach is clean and well maintained. Pay your parking after you park. There are parking pay machines by the bathrooms and it accepts credit cards. Take a quick picture of your license plate as you will need to enter the number when purchasing parking. BBQ on the beach is okay. You can also tailgate. Face mask only required when with in 6 feet of others during the pandemic.

What a beautiful off the beaten path beach! Never very crowded like so many other beaches. A great place for surfers and a great place to bring the family. Dogs are not allowed on the beach unfortunately. Parking is eight dollars for all day and there are public restrooms available. This is a great beach to catch a beautiful sunset!

Nice coastal breeze from beach. One large paved lot, marked into decent sites, but you cant beat proximity to the beach. We live in San Diego County...well definitely be back again. Great for a weekend getaway. But you need to book it far ahead. Very popular spot.

My family has camped here for the last 16 years and I hope to be able to continue the tradition for many years to come. Its a state beach so it has extremely clean bathrooms and parking lots. The views are amazing at all angles and the waves and beach are very mellow which is great for kids.

Beautiful but so noisy, the noise distracts from the beauty of being between the ocean and the bay. It is near the Naval Base so expect military and Coast Guard Helicopters overhead. The Navy apparently practices with artillery in the evenings. The roadway has lots of traffic 24 hours a day. Very few people wore masks or attempted to socially distance. Check in is a tedious nightmare with miserable, old men.

If you want to get away with the kids and not have to worry about other wearing masks, this is it! the water was clear blue. It was great, the kids loved it! A bit far but the drive is worthwhile. Its super clean. All day parking is $10 and I had plenty of space. I saw plenty of RVs and everyone was very friendly. Safe.Other benefits are: SD Bay is right across, there are trails all along and if you like birds, you will have a great time. Loews resort is a step away and you can have lunch there as well.Cant go wrong here :)

Love this beach! Gets pretty crowded most of the summer season. A family oriented beach with showers and restrooms that are clean. Gated and its $10 for full day of parking. Yes, it is large enough for motorhomes and travel coaches. Autos park in own designated area. Bring your towel and beach toys because its a blast here.

They decided to close the park an hour early because they felt like it and the bathrooms are locked up 45 minutes before they close. It would have been helpful to be informed of this ahead of time, but this is the kind of BS you expect from the public sector where no one gets fired for not delivering on claims.Beach is nice though.

Amazing place to visit and enjoy. For a while, I thought Ive seen most of the places in San Diego, but the surprises are immense. Silver Strand Beach really has the variety of the ocean and the bay with couple of steps apart. You can enjoy surfing on one side where there are a lot of waves, and enjoy kayaking, canoeing, and other activities on the other side where the water is shallower. On top of that, the views there are just amazing!

Stayed here for a few days. First of all you have to back into your campsite we don’t have a window in the back of our RV so we were facing the highway and the noise from the highway was very loud all night! And if you like camping on a parking lot this is the place for you .campers and squeezed in right next to you. in front of you and the back of you! And if you have the bad luck and right next to you are loud people, kids, or barking dogs there’s nothing you can do.it wouldn’t be so bad if you were not on top of everyone the campers are all very very close. This place is a joke! They close the gate at 8 pm!! There are NO showers! Everyone is so close together you can’t even sit outside your own camper without people right there. no privacy

I loved this beach. Parking is close. Sand is nice not to hot and great for building castles. Water was freezing but I think that was only because of recent upwelling. I enjoyed watching the pelicans dive for food and just watching the ships. Everyone respected social distancing so no worries there. They also have restrooms and showers near by for convenience. Parking is $10.00 per car and I was happy to pay it (we had 5 people in car so $2.00 each.

The only reason this place could get anything less than 5 stars is either your neighbors werent great or you didnt know what to expect. Once you do, and the neighborhood is good, or even when they are awesome.... Five stars all the way. Great place to stay with the family and let them roam but we know they are safe. Ocean is just the right amount of wave strength. Great beach to walk run or find sea shells. Perfect views north to San Diego. Love the early spring here.

Definitely a tight packed RV park. Not really a great RV resort, with no pool and no clubhouse. But the view was always priceless. Right next to the beach it was walking distance to great Coronado beach. It can get a bit crowded though, with kids unsupervised all over the place. And could not go swimming because of the stingrays. Many people were bitten and had to get medical attention.

My family and I were there two weeks ago; the climate was 70 degrees and cloudy. We got there at 11am and waited for 10 minutes to get in. It costs ten bucks to get in. You can take your trailer, but they require that you have the usual hook ups.The water was too cold for me. If the sun was out, it would of been a different story. COVID 19 rules were stay in your shade and wear masks if someone walks closer than 6 feet from you. You are required to wear masks when your walking about or at the restrooms. The restrooms were very clean. Although the staff were rude knocking on my door and telling me to hurry up. Very unprofessional!!We broke out the grill for the carne asada and quesadillas for lunch. They have showers too. They have coal pits for used coal on the edge of the parking lots. We had a great time at Silver Stand Beach. We left at 6pm, but i think they close at 8. Good luck!!

Love this beach, especially in winter! You have to pay to park ($4 for 2 hours and $8 for all day). Its easy to get in and out of and the beach is right next to the parking lot. Its patrolled regularly and it felt safe and clean. We went in March and the water didnt seem that cold. The beach is pretty flat and you can go in pretty far without the beach floor dropping down, which is great for little kids. There are facilities with bathrooms and picnic tables. Theres a place to get food (only open in the summer). I did NOT see a place to wash off (no showers or place to rinse your feet), but maybe I just missed that.

We decided to take a trip to a camp ground far far away. We chose silver strand because it had the most adventurous drive possible. Leaving New Year’s Day was the best decision we ever made, why? Because we had the most relaxing experience you can have in so cal. Limited amount of people, groceries deliver to you and grub hub at your finger tips. It was one of those one time experiences where the kids are just old enough to never forget it.Sleeping in, quite time, game time and we even got a full day of sunshine. There are no stores but, if you have insta cart they deliver! Don’t feel like cooking?! Grub hubs got your back!Walks on the beach at sunset and rise! The only down fall was the locked gates at 7pm. But wait! Is it such a bad thing? Naawww!! It made our stay more comfy. Keeping all the riff raff out I would happily go there again and again.I only wish they had hot showers. I could see myself staying indefinitely!Be sure to go on the off season tho, I’m sure this could be a popular spot during the summer for so cal locals..
