Went on family night and left an hour later. Temperatures are taken at the front door and a sign on the door says masks are required. I left early because they do not enforce the masking policy. It was getting crowded and more than 60% of the people were not wearing their masks; this includes staff. Went for a safe, fun time but that is not what I experienced. Outside of the pandemic, I have had nothing but good experiences here. I will not be returning.

We came here for schools skate night. Staff were friendly, helpful and patient with the kids. Lots of games n arcades. Kids had a blast n you could tell by the excitement on their faces. Food was delicious too, we will definitely be back.

Im a little disappointed with the manager that was on duty when I was there. I had just got there with my family, Im not from Columbus so this was my first time there. Within 15 minutes my niece falls and hurts herself, I report it to the manager after waiting like 10 minutes to talk to her. I asked for a refund since my niece wasnt skating, wasnt playing any games and I only got $4 out of $12 back. They manager never filled out an incident report, didnt do a proper refund just took $4 out the drawer handed it to another employee and told this young lady to give it to me. That was rude and unprofessional of that manager to handle me in that manner.

Took my daughters for there birthdays. Even though the prices are kind high as hell, the service was still great and respectful workers as well.

Ive loved this place since I was a kid. The outside is hideous but its a great place. Nothing flashy. Just skating, token games for tickets & concessions but its enough to keep the kids happy for a few hours. My only complaint is that the skate mates to help kids stay up are $5, there are never enough & people are always trying to snatch them up if you dont pay attention while eating etc. Always check for discount days and coupons!

Had a good time with my children. Reasonable prices. Staff are friendly and helpful. My daughter won 500 tickets in a game the machine only had 397 . told the staff and she just wrote the remaining on one of the tickets. They also have a training walker for small children to help them learn for 5 dollars.

The staff is awesome. Best roller rink in Columbus hands down. I left my eyeglasses there and they mail them back to me promptly. We visited from out of state. The floor is very decent. I think it is the largest rink in Columbus.

The staff is very family friendly, kind, and always has a smile. You can see the work together as a team. The gentleman who work the skate rentals and skate around the rink do their job very professionally. Anytime a child fell one gentleman in particular (don’t know his name ) would skate right over and help that child up. Thank you for being so great !!

Fun for the whole family. Packages available for kids parties. One of the only few roller skating rinks Columbus has to offer. Restroom facilities could definitely use attention and remodeling.

Staff was kind. I observed children falling if all color and races, size and gender, plp were helping each other. The children were holding hands while skating, all races. Every staff was professional...I also observe how no children were ignored but with a smile. And said may I help you. Excellence.

Had a great time booking a party and attending it for my 7 year old. The only complaints I have are the bathrooms are not little kid friendly- no step stools or shorter sinks, and the skate mate rentals are $5 each- its a bit excessive when having a party.

Looks the same as when I was a child. Old and dated. DJ plays the same few songs every session. Workers usually spend more time skating, than actually working.

Would give it 3.5 if I could. Place is really cool. Great atmosphere and all. It definitely feels like an original roller rink. They had your standard arcade games and what not with tickets and prizes. The rental skates arent bad at all. The music was a lot of popular R&B and rap. Only downside is that the music was super loud which makes it really hard to talk to someone youre skating with and my ears hurt afterwards. If the music was a little quieter it would be better I think.

Nice place to go roller skate, but the music is extremely loud. If you dont mind really loud music, then this is it. Bathrooms were clean, and theres plenty of options for drinks and food. There should be a rule though, for kids not to skate outside of the rink, they are crazy and nearly ran over my child several times! Not one staff told parents or kids to stop!

Kids loved it but they need to hire security for crowd control.

My kids had a wonderful time. I think some updates could be made but they are keeping it fresh with things to do for kids. My kids just went this past Monday for a school event and they did a toilet paper fight at the end which my boys loved!!

Large and clean skating rink, cool music and friendly staff. Apart from roller skating, you can buy fast food (pizza, etc) and play few games. Skates are available for rent, but you can bring your own too. We visit mostly on Tuesday family specials. Tip: subscribe to their emails for regular discount offers.

I know theyre trying and its hard out here for skating centers now a days but sheesh. My kids had fun though and thats all that matters but I will say bring some Lysol with you so you can spray the skates. all the staff is very nice and respectful. The pizza was good and food was reasonably priced in the Cafe.

We went for the Kids Skate Free every Sunday in Oct. but got charged for admission. When my bf realized the mistake he went back to speak to the manager, Tiara/Tierra, she didn’t even want to listen to him speak. Just walked up and kept saying it’s too late, it’s too late. The advertisement on their very own website doesn’t say you have to present a coupon, it’s advertised like a special available to all who go from 1-3:30 on Sundays! The place seems clean, and floors is in good condition but feels very dated, The only employee who was remotely friendly was the guy giving out the skates. Everyone else was stone-faced and the manager needs customer service training. Definitely won’t be spending money here again!

Came here on field trip with our 3rd-5th graders today. The kids had fun. We were the only school there which that made it nice. The food was pretty good. I had tater tots. The tater tots could have been a little crisper, but other than that they were pretty good.

There is ZERO skating etiquette that exists here. Even the skateguards enjoy going the wrong way. Probably one of the reasons that they cant get anybody in the door on a Friday night. Its dead as heck in the place and people are still colliding with each other because the idea of going one single direction on the floor is practically unheard of here. Then they actually had an employee wheel out a cart of merchandise onto the skating path and start selling toys to kids.It gets two stars because admission was only $5 and the floor is a decent size wooden floor.And whats up with the waivers? Ive been to 20-30 different rinks across the country and Ive never seen that. Maybe that goes back to the dangerous nature of the skaters here.

Had our 9 year olds birthday party here. I read some mixed reviews, but honestly it was fantastic. Food was surprisingly good, the party host was awesome and the kids had a blast! Great value and would definitely recommend.

Very poor customer service. Guys trying to steal our stuff from our locker. Workers rushing us to move because we were hanging on the wall because I’ve never skated before. Would not recommend to anyone.

Music mostly was terrible... was suppose to be top 100 pop. Was NOT!!! Also didnt have the dinosaur come out at the end. Kids was sad. Also the DJ was low couldnt hear him at all

I recently had my daughters 12th birthday here. Manager who set me up through the phone was so patient, kind and very professional. Esco was my attendant and he was great too. Very friendly and helpful when it came to organizing the party and making sure everything moved along smoothly. Awesome place for special occasions or just for family fun day. I wish I was brave enough to get back in the rink though. Its been at least 10 years. Only two critiques are #1 training the younger employees about customer service and keeping their attitudes in check. Its okay to say, Hello! How are you? Thank you! Have a great day! #2 its quite dirty in there. Definitely needs good cleaning and lots of sanitation. Perhaps upgrade in decor too.

Our family had a really good time. My daughter like they had things to help you skate for beginners.

Wednesdays and Thursdays they have discounts. There is also an arcade area where kids can play. They have aids for children learning to skate. I recommend it for 3+ years.

Young staff seemed to enjoy their job, interacted with children and adults and the place was very clean. Added positive: not on staff person was standing around with a phone in their hand!

This place is great for kids and my twin sons party. Our party host hands down and staff know there stuff in makimg sure the kids and parents have a great time! I have to say this place brought back memories of when I started skating there as kid 30 years ago. Thank you UNITED SKATES OF AMERICA for the experiences for me and my family.

Took the kids yesterday. The womens restroom was so disgusting i had to hold it for 2 hours until we left. One of the toilets when you flushed it, water went everywhere. There should have been a Do Not Use sign on the door. Gonna try North next time.

I found the experience disappointing to say the least. A group of us went on a Sunday afternoon, 5 adults & 6 children. From the top here is my list of grievances... 50 cents we got a locker to put our belongings in. I forgot I had my scarf on and went to put it in the locker and it kept the key. I went to speak with the manager and ask if you had to put $.50 in every time you opened the locker. She was incredibly rude and said with a super attitude YES. Next the music was not at all appropriate for children. It was hip-hop and R&B which I like but it was vulgar talking about bending women over etc. etc. The whole place was filled with young children. It was way too loud. I asked the manager if they had earplugs and she replied with the same attitude NO. She said I could talk to the DJ. I ask him to politely turn the music down a bit. It seemed many of the speakers were blown and had a terrible distorted sound vibrating throughout the place. My nine-year-old was trying to skate with fingers in her ears it was so loud.The employees at the skate counter and all of the rink supervisors were so concerned with looking cool and hanging out you almost didn’t even notice they were there trying to help. I was picking up trash on the rink floor so no one tripped, meanwhile they’re dancing and laughing about. The hand dryer was out in the men’s bathroom with no towels to replace. I dropped $60 on 5 in our party and I wish I would’ve spent my money elsewhere. It’s a pretty crummy place and I won’t be back. I hope this review helps somebody avoid a bad time.

It located in a mildly decent area. Its not bad and pretty much everything you would expect from a skating rink. There isnt anything that stands out l, but it fulfills the basic premise of what a skating rink should be. 3 stars because I consider this place to be average, or ok.

This place is over priced and run by children. Admission is $8.00 to just enter the building if you are under the age of 18 whether you are roller skating or not and 3.50 for skate rental during their 5 p.m to 8 p.m session. If you want to stay longer for the 8 p.m to 11 p.m its an additional $5.00. They also will not a refund for admission no matter what. I had miss informed on how many children that i was to pay for and they refused to refund my admission money no mater what even with the over count mistake. They only refunded the skate rental price after i raised a little hell.....smh. I definitely wont be back.

This is one of our favorite family activities when school is out. This is a great family place. Skaters of all ages and skills are welcome. The music is great: they play old school skate music on request (Jam On It!). Always a good time.

Best skating experience in Columbus! I have two small children just learning to skate but I am a more experienced skater and like to skate backwards, do turns, spin and half rotation jumps. Skate Zone 71 (the only other rink in Columbus city limits) does not allow experienced skaters to do any tricks at the family sessions, whereas Refugee Road does allow backward skating, turns, jumps and spins during their family sessions. Skate Zone only allows the fancy stuff at the adult sessions. But I have two kids, who want to learn to skate like Mommy. We LOVE United Skates at Refugee because they allow the experienced skaters to do their thing and teach/inspire younger skaters to hone their skills and become better skaters! I met a father and son at Refugee Road (the young man was 12 years old) and doing full rotation jumps, spins, one-foot turns and much more complicated footwork. If he were skating at Skate Zone, he would never have been allowed to practice those skills! We love Refugee Road! The staff is amazingly accommodating and you can tell they all enjoy working there. The skate floor is all open (no walls in the middle) so its easy to spot your child from across the rink. The concession are basically what youd expect: pizza, nachos, pretzels, hot dogs but they also have buffalo wings. All-in-all, weve visited all the roller rinks around C-bus and this ones our favorite!

Theyve armed the children with tiny bumper carts. They look you directly in the eyes as they cross in front of you. They know that you cant hurt them. They have a barrier and you have weak knees. The staff does very little to keep the kids going in the right direction and often times cut in front of you to do cool spins. Children and their bumpers are everywhere. The music isnt that great, as they only play one genre and frequently have to cut out inappropriate words. In addition to that, the speakers seem to be pretty old as the bass sounds more like static in several songs. While there I received two pairs of broken skates before receiving a pair that worked. The straps on the other two (inline skates) were very broken. They guy in the skate booth said nothing when we walked up. He just pointed at us to speak. I never heard him talk and never saw him smile. Im sure the rest of the staff was very nice. Maybe the guy handing out the skates was having an off day. He seemed annoyed with me every time I pointed out that the skates were broken. That said, the floors were perfectly kept. There were no bumps or crevices to look out for. If youre an adult looking to skate fast and free go somewhere else. If youre a parent looking to take your kid to a place where theyll meet other kids and have a good time, youve found your place.

Not a half bad skate rink! The refs dont do a very good job of clearing people who fall or maintaining the rules of slower folks to the outer edges, which makes it very hard for anyone who wants to skate fast or do tricks. The pizza was palatable, staff was friendly, skates are in good condition, floor in good condition.

This place is amazing this place also taught me how to skate without a skate mate it is amazing as the best ranked and you should really go wet if you have a play private school and its a Christian and its the Christian School they put on some really good beats so I recommend all those who want to learn how to skate to go there and they have all sizes skates so adults and kids can skate

Great time! Tuesday night skate was awesome. There was pleanty of friendly staff around and fun games along with the songs. Good crowd, perfect for getting back into skating and not quite comfortable on a very crowded floor. Cant wait to go back next week.

I like this skating rink and old school wooden floor. Employees are nice, helpful. The reason for 3 stars is children and adults are allowed on the skating floor wearing street shoes. (Ive never seen this allowed in all the years Ive been rollerskating!) This creates an unsafe situation. Skates should be mandatory footwear if youre going to be on the skating floor. Besides, it also will cut down on damage to the floor from trash, moisture and debri from soles of shoes and boots.

Great floor if not the best. I travel a many rinks every state. In The U.S. Music was The Bomb Ole Skool & Nu Skool.
