Great space. Made for an awesome back drop for the wedding I attended. Wish the AC pumped a little harder but it wasnt terrible and the day turned out wonderful.

Good place to learn a little history

We had our high school class Christmas party here last year and it was a grand event! Very clean, spacious and nice. Love the African American art throughout the lobby.

I guess leaving a review would be easier if there was someone who worked in there... Or called back when you leave a message saying youd like to view the establishment. Tried for a week to get in/make appointment by phone to view the establishment, but no luck. Judging by the management of this place, its probably not worth the effort.

This is a nice place to have events. The building can use some renovations. But overall it isnt so bad. I have friends who have gotten married here & had business events. There is a kitchen and clean bathrooms. I recommend hosting an event here.

The place has an open floor plan. Plenty of natural lighting and also plenty of ceiling lights. There is a kitchen area to support your needs as well. It is a great venue to host any event.

The Liberty Theatre Cultural Center is an AMAZING place for aspiring artist to utilize their gifts and explore art in away that many other theatres would deny them access to. Dr. Shae Anderson is a joy to work for and with and Im grateful for the opportunity that she grants me to GROW. It takes A LOT to run an entire theatre ALONE; not to mention the cultural center. One person cannot do it alone. I applaud you Dr. Anderson!

PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS REVIEW:I highly recommend NOT booking the Liberty Theater. The executive director Shae Anderson, doesnt show any professionalism in conducting business. When the wedding coordinator was setting up the reception, there was no working A/C . Shae Anderson was called several times and did not answer or return the phone calls. She was even sent a text message notifying her of the issue. Still no response. There was a kitchen there, but the lights didnt work. So everything done in the kitchen had to be done in the dark. Wedding guests couldnt stay long because it was too hot to enjoy the reception, 85 degrees hot! Mosquitoes love the heat, so it seems as if they made the Liberty Theater their home, there were lots of mosquitoes in the building. Shae Anderson, has a bad business reputation in the Columbus area, I wish there would have been more honest reviews on here for potential customers. Hope this review helps you NOT book this location.

Great wedding reception venue or any other occasions you need.

Horrible experience with Shae Anderson!! She was rude and disrespectful. VERY impatient as far as communication and assured me that everything would be taken care of and accommodated on my wedding day. However, on the day of my wedding, my husband spent an hour at the venue BEFORE our wedding trying to fix the air conditioner. It was 85 degrees inside the building. Shae did not answer or respond to the several voicemails that were left. I had roughly 70 guest and the space was rented and paid for at the requested 10 hours. Because it was so hot, my guest were leaving the reception around 5:30 for a reception that had began only an hour and a half prior. They were very uncomfortable as they shouldve been. I have yet to hear back from this woman. I do not recommend anyone doing business here, especially not under the authority of Shae Anderson whos suppose to be the director of the Liberty Theatre.

I would most definitely think twice before booking this place or even working with Shae Anderson. She is very unprofessional. She does not respond to call or texts about your event. I attended a wedding reception on Saturday and the air was out. It was so hot. It was almost unbearable. People were very uncomfortable and it made people leave the reception early. A bride wants her day to be special and especially if she paid a lot of money for a venue. Their should not be any problems. The air should have been working and when it broke it should have been fixed immediately. Ms. Shae Anderson didnt even answer the phone about the matter and has yet to respond. She is a scam and she should not be working anywhere. If I could give no stars I would.

This historical Center needs our help to preserve and maintain it. It is a place for family and the community. It holds a plethora of memories, entertainment, and history for the Liberty District and Columbus at large. The Liberty Theater is definitely and the historical landmark for the city of Columbus and surrounding areas.

What a horrible customer experience!!!! We choose this location to be a part of our special day and the management of The Liberty Theatre completely dropped the ball. The person in charge that we dealt with was rude, inaccurate on information and could care less about her customers. If your looking for a place to have any type of special day for yourself or a loved one then THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU.

This build is wore down, broken, messy, the ice machine dont work, air condition barely come on, the elevator doesnt work, trash everywhere in the back part of the of the building,behind the stage, it has went down tremendously over the past 10 years, it needs new staff,and a complete overhaul in order to function,or they need to just tear it down.

The director (Shae) is horrible. I heard she was bad business from numerous people but my friend had to schedule her wedding reception there at the last minute due to a mix up and double booking at her original venue. We had no air conditioning the entire time. She turned her phone off when we were trying to get in contact with her. She never sent anyone out. She is very unprofessional and rude. I have read numerous reviews also on Facebook about the air conditioning not working at their events too. Please book your event elsewhere. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
