I commissioned a large family portrait from Liese, the gallery co-owner. I just brought it home today after several months of her work and it was definitely worth the wait! Her creativity is whimsical and unparalleled, her communication is always on through any medium (email, phone, social media), and she allowed for changes as we introduced another family member (cat) recently mid-portrait. Her husband is equally talented and unique - I have some of his work too! Do yourself a favor and visit this shop when touring through Old Colorado City. You won’t be disappointed!

This was the most unexpected wonderful gallery to happen on! My mom and I were greeted warmly by the artists and were free to roam through a lovely space with high quality original works at phenomenal prices. My mom bought her first artwork in this gallery, we signed up for the email list on an old typewriter, and got original little lottery stickers from the machine up front (which now adorn my laptop, of course).This is a gallery where your dime can stretch and you will have a great experience.Ill be back guys, thank you for the unique experience!

My favorite art gallery to visit when in Colorado. They always have something special, ordinary or surreal. My favorite pieces are the hand crafted jewelry, which always bring a smile to my heart. I bought one for my daughter and later returned to purchase one for me.

I am lucky enough to own a dozen of their works (everything from earrings to original paintings). Their souls are as beautiful as their art. Each piece is unique reflecting both intensity and humor. The artists themselves embody graciousness, quirkiness, and so much talent. Colorado Springs is a more beautiful place because of them and their shop.

If I only visited only one art-related place in Colorado Springs (and this is, of course, a hypothetical since I dont have that kind of self-control) it would be Chavez Gallery. I have been a fan for a very long time and cannot wait to visit with them again. The depth of the artistry and whimsy in their pieces is a constant source of joy. Go and take a look at their amazing stuff. Better yet, do what I did and take some home!

Chris and Liese are wonderfully talented artists and just beautiful souls, in general! They have many options available for purchasing art so that folks can enjoy their creative works, no matter the income level. Every time I visit the gallery and spend time chatting with the two of them, I feel happier and better than when I entered. Great artists! Greater people!!

My teens and I visit Chavez Gallery regularly! Some of our favorite art, plus interactive displays, photo booth, shadow wall fun, and more cool stuff. I cant even explain how awesome this couple is. If you want your kids to love art, but most galleries are too boring, introduce them to Chavez!

Having recently moved from Portland, Oregon. I was uncertain to expect from the galleries here in old Colorado City. Chavez gallery was one of the most welcoming, creative and informative locations I have been able to visit. Watching the owners work and enjoy the space they were using to the fullest, was an absolute thrill. Liese Chavez is a skilled and affable painter/Gallery owners. Kris (if I remember correctly) was in a side room making very impressive glass/enamel (I think) earrings of various types. My favorite was the small egg and piece of bacon. I mean, come on... Bacon..I had high hopes for all locations in the area, yet Chavez gallery was the only location that I explored that had interactive artwork and places that encouraged you to touch, explore and create your own curio doll on a magnet board and several more hands-on treasures. It is likely obvious, I am not skilled at reviews. Yet, this gallery shines out. If you find yourself near, please, go meet them. You will be glad to have had the experience.

Ive been going to this gallery for many years now and take visiting friends from out of town. The First Friday shows usually have a musician, which is also super fun. I cant begin to count how many times I have just dropped by for tea. Give them a visit!

This place is magical! An inspired wonderland full of tiny surprises and beautiful art! I was tickled pink by all the details and quirkiness. The couple who own this gallery each have a unique asthetic. The gentleman’s work is witty and lovable... robots with human emotions and conversation piece jewelry. The ladie’s work is simply enchanting with stunning mystery women and anthropomorphic animals in vests and pearls. The whole place was a delight! I bought many prints and pieces of jewelry, and I will be back as often as possible. The live music was a nice touch.

Chavez Gallery is my favorite place in Old Colorado City. Amazing place and Liese and Kris are always willing to take time to talk to you. Their art is amazing and theres something wonderful and fun for any budget. Dont go to Old Colorado without stopping by.

The Chavez Gallery is occupied by two Chavez’s—. Liese and Chris. Their creations are beautiful and wonderfully inventive! I have bought several things there, which delight me daily. Don’t miss a chance to stop and meet them, and see some fantastic art work. Liese and Chris are themselves delightful.

I love all of the different art mediums used, and the creative imaginations of Liese and Kris. They are both so talented. They offer anything from $1 keychain art, to $50 necklaces, to original paintings in the multiple hundreds plus.. So there is something for everyone! :-)

I had so much fun here at the art walk: theres a selfie station, delicious baked goods + coffee, a puzzle, fun activities, and the artists are a delight to talk to while theyre working.

I can give no less then 5 brightly shining stars, Kris and Liese are all heart and have an amazing place! I was there a few months back and when I was ready to purchase my art I realized that I had lost my Drivers license and debit card and ran out to backtrack my steps. I was trying to be calm an cool about it , but wasnt quite there in cool land. When I found them and returned, brilliant Liese (not sure who will get this, but this is everything) had been imagining my 2 cards looking like garbage and people just walking by them. Well, I even walked by them once and I was looking for them! They were upside down and one was bent and they looked like trash. Long review and different, i know, but I love this gallery!! Thanks Liese!! ( Liese had said , well I dont know for sure that I had anything to do with that, but I do know , yes!)
