I was here last March, signed up for a 1 hour private lesson. I’ve never swam in the ocean before, or even touched a surf board. Frankie, my instructor, was VERY informative and descriptive. Even though the waves were extremely choppy, she was able to give exact instruction on what I needed to fix. I was up on my feet at least 30 mins in. 10/10 recommend Frankie, and this Surf School.

My daughter (16) and my son (13) just finished their first surf camp and had a wonderful time! Very friendly, professional and efficient instructors!The children were surfing in no time and had a wonderful time!

My daughter had a private surfing lesson through Ron Jon Surf School yesterday and it was amazing! From beginning to end, the entire process was simple, professional, and enjoyable. Erin was our instructor, and she was fantastic! She was friendly, knowledgeable, interactive, and made the entire experience a complete success. My daughter had never even attempted to surf and after five minutes of instruction regarding technique, she was standing on her first attempt. I would highly recommend Erin and Ron Jon Surf School!

Warren did a 1 hr private lesson for my 13 year old daughter this week (July 2020). My daughter is athletic and a good swimmer, but had never surfed. She was up by her third wave and she loved the lesson! We rented a board a couple days later and she was able to apply what she had learned and she caught many waves without assistance. We’ll continue to practice, and we’ll try to squeeze in another lesson with Warren while we’re here, but I would highly recommend this to others.They had a rash guard you can borrow, but my daughter just wore her own. For the one hour lesson, you really don’t need to take anything for them, as they are out in the water almost the whole time. My wife and I brought beach chairs so we could sit and watch the lesson. Beyond that, there’s little else to prepare for. You just park, sign a waiver, meet your teacher, walk across the street to the beach (3-5 min walk) and the lesson starts. We were on the beach for a full hour.

We had an AMAZING time doing semi-private lessons here in November 2017. We booked two-hour semi-private lessons for two teen girls from MN. The weather was 79 and sunny and the girls thought the water was a perfect temp. They were given rashguards to wear for the lesson and after a safety briefing, were off to the beach! They were both up and surfing within the first couple tries. There were four students and one instructor, which was a great balance as the other two students were adults. They had a blast with their instructor, a local with a ton of great knowledge and experience, and wished they could stay longer. I cannot recommend them enough! Great price, great interaction, and the kids had a wonderful time!

Our teens had a great private lesson. Although it was supposed to be an hour, and it ended up being more like 40 mins by the time you check in and walk to the beach from their building, so beware. We arrived early in hopes of getting that done first, but they were not early so all that cut into the lesson time. We were the first lesson of the day.

Visiting from Canada in December...so only people in the water, and it was awesome! Our instructor Warren was great! He was super friendly, personable and encouraging.... not too sure who was more excited about catching a good wave, him or me! Would definitely recommend anyone to visit this location for beginner lessons. I feel confident enough to rent a surf board for a day and play around in the water, pending decent conditions of course!

Warren was a very personable and interactive surf instructor. It was an amazing first surf experience with him and we were able to surf the full hour.

Great instruction, efficient teaching, they get you in the water quick and surfing in just an hour or so. Great place to learn that doesnt break the bank. I think it was Lester and Steve and the girl were awesome. Surfs up!

I love this school! The instructors are very professional and make the lesson so much fun. They are so knowledgable and have all grown up in the ocean. My kids have gone to the surf camp every summer for years and are now advanced surfers. They were confident enough to surf in Nicaragua with me last summer on waves that were well over their heads. Thank you Ron Jon Surf School for the incredible gift of surfing you have given my entire family!

This was a great experience! If youre in the area I highly recommend visiting this location to learn to surf. They provided the wet suit and the surf board, the instructor was super patient and knowledgeable. Everyone there was very friendly. Great experience!

Brought 4 teenagers and a mom. All were able to get up on surf boards by the end of a first time lesson. Instructors were fun, caring, and helpful. Highly recommend this vacation experience! Hint: Dont forget to sunscreen the back of your legs!

Our private group of eight had a fantastic time learning to surf at Ron Jon Surf School. Nikki & Meghan were patient, positive, and accommodating to our groups special needs. They also really seemed to enjoy introducing surfing to newbies. From the pre-water instruction, to learning pop-ups on the beach, to taking it to the water, the experience was really great!

These instructors are amazing! I had my very first surf lesson ever with Larry in 2014 on recommendation from my friend who has been to him many times before. I was nervous and unsure about what to expect, but that soon turned into excitement and confidence with Larrys positive attitude, and all around awesome approach to surfing and life! We enjoyed it so much that I went back with my bridal party as part of my bachelorette in May 2015. This time Mike joined us to instruct the group, and kept up with all of us to ensure that we had the best time - and we did. Mike is a kind and thoughtful instructor, who like Larry, has a true passion for his job and the awesome area they call home.I recommend going to see these fine people anytime youre in the area for an amazing surfing experience and an all around great day!

This was a great father/son bonding experience type of deal. If you have the guts to paddle your old butt out and ride some waves like I did with my son it can be a really memorable experience for the both of you! If youre in Cocoa Beach on a family trip this is a cant miss for family fun.

I took my daugher to surf camp this summer( 2013)She thought it was the best thing in the world.Even though the waves were small and the weather was not great, the staff made it a wonderful experience for her.Unlike other camps I have put her in, they were very flexible and laid back in the scheduling. They had no issue with changing dates if I needed or had to cancel if our schedule preventing making the trip. They would refund the deposit, no problem.Great camp for the week, would recommend it for any kid.

Great place to learn how to surf! It doesnt get any better than Surf-Pro Larry for experience, authenticity, attitude and ability to coach. My sons taken two lessons with him and Im sure hell be back!

My nephew has attended this camp for one week the past 2 years. It is the highlight of his summer vacation. They do a great job teaching and encouraging the kids!

Oliver was fantastic!!! Where else can you learn to walk on water with a stick between your legs in less than an hour....helicopters from Cape Canaveral flying overhead, perfect waves, overcast, broke the leash on my last wave, and surf tastes like MARGARITAS!!! Great School. Great Experience. We took two surfing lessons with Larry. He is Great with Kids. He did an awesome job with my 9 year old daughter and 13 year old son. They loved the experience and will be back next year.

I still cant imagine i took my first wave on the surfboard. ill never forget it. Its great that after one lesson I do can surf for myself cause i got all basic knowledges.

Not my first time training with these guys they also teach Kite Boarding which I worked with them in 2011 , friendly group of guys definitely living their life style and have a passion for what they do , we took a 3 hour class and everyone in our group got up on the board, great experience thinking about sending girlfriends son back down during the summer for the surf camp.Also before you go buy all the surf gear in the Big Ron Jon store stop by Surf School and pick up the 10% discount cardGet Off the PathAdventure Bums

Best experience EVER!!! We took a family vacation to Disney, with a break to the beach on one of the days. Larry was our surf instructor, and I really cant describe how awesome he was and everyone at the shop!! We are from Nebraska, and I would say clueless to the ocean & surfing, and I felt overly satisfied with our visit, WE will be returning!!! Thank you Lisa

I am a loving grandmother of 3. My grandson had a great time at the surf camp, however I have learned some serious information that everyone should be aware of. This surf school apparently has no problem hiring convicted felons with long criminal histories. I was informed of this while my grandson was attending the surf camp this summer but didnt think much of it at the time. After returning home I had my son whom is a Georgia State Patrolman perform a record check on the owners son and instructor. What I found was disturbing and a person with a history such as this should never be permitted to work with our children. OR, we as parents and grandparents should be informed to this before our children attend the school. I would have never expected this from a large corporation such as Ron Jons so I feel it is my duty to inform others of this outrage. Be aware of who works with your children, and stay away so long as this is practiced by them.

Signed up for the all day, week long kids summer camp. The instructor told the kids that they would just be practicing rather than getting much instruction. He snapped and yelled at my kiddo all day and was annoyed with the kids. As well, they didnt group beginners with same abilities, instead it was all over the place.We have done summer camps around the nation, my son has never complained until this one. It was very expensive compared to other camps but we *thought* it would be a great experience-nope.It was a waste of money. Looks like the 2.5 hour session would have been a better deal.

We were charged for a semi-private lesson, though the instructor was simultaneously teaching another pair of students (should have been a group lesson rate...). Surf instruction took place in a heavily populated area of beach, with lots of small children playing in the water. Another 100 yards up or down the beach would have been far less hazardous...

A great place to learn how to surf... Our daughters learned to surf here and did their surf camps each and every summer.

The staff was very professional, friendly, and genuinely cared about providing an excellent experience. This was my first time surfing and I am glad that I went to Ron Jons Surf School. Anita recommended a two hour session for beginners and she was right on point with that recommendation. In the two hours our instructor, Katie, was able to thoroughly instruct us on the longboards and have us out on the waves in no time. Katie made the experience very fun and easy going. I would highly recommed RJSS to anyone who is interested in learning how to surf. You wont be disappointed!
